Chapter 114 - Chapter 114: You're Actually a Cannoneer?

Saga looked at the reinforcements about to arrive from the other side of the bridge, a slight smirk playing on his lips.

He reorganized the remaining personnel and launched a fierce assault on the base.

Looking at the disheveled Uchiha Hachidai on the high wall, he was triumphant and shouted loudly:

"Captain Hachidai, we've met on the Battlefield, and you don't look so good!"

Hearing this, Uchiha Hachidai tightened his grip on his Kunai.

He knew Saga was responding to the words he had said a few days ago: "Don't meet me on the Battlefield."

He was also trying to provoke him into making a mistake.

He didn't respond, silently stabbing his Kunai deep into an enemy's body and kicking them off the wall.

Below, Saga felt a surge of satisfaction seeing Uchiha Hachidai's suppressed anger.

Suddenly!

A blue light lit up on the high wall, dazzling in the dark night.

"What is this?" Before Saga could even see what it was...

The next moment.

Just as the front of the reinforcement team stepped off the bridge.

Amidst the blue and white light, an object crackling with intense electrical arcs shot down from the high wall.

Its powerful piercing force tore through from the bridgehead to the middle, killing three or four enemies before finally stopping in one enemy's body.

The enemy stared blankly at the Chakra Arrow crackling with electricity in his chest; he didn't even feel the pain before falling straight down.

The noisy scene suddenly went quiet for a moment.

Saga looked at the crackling Chakra Arrow in the middle of the bridge, an inexplicable chill rushing from his feet to his head.

"Get out of the way!" he suddenly roared.

The next instant!

The electrical arcs on the arrow flashed violently, emitting a blinding light.

Boom!

Lightning, accompanied by a high-pitched screeching like thousands of birds, spread violently outward.

"Ah! Ah..."

Screams immediately erupted one after another from the crowd.

The lightning faded.

Of the forty to fifty enemies on the bridge, except for a few sturdy elites on the edges, everyone else lay stiffly on the ground.

Their skin was charred black, their eyes full of terror, and their faces etched with agony.

It was as if they had undergone inhuman torture.

Even the center of the bridge had a large crater blasted into it.

Instantly, the fighting across the entire Battlefield slowed down, and the scene became terrifyingly quiet.

On the high wall, everyone except Hinata Iruha, who had seen it once before, stared at Aokawa with their mouths agape.

Uchiha Inabi looked even more incredulous.

No way!

Brother, do you have to be this ridiculous?

I thought you were a weak Sniper, but you turned out to be a Taijutsu master.

Now you're telling me you're a Cannoneer too?

Shirakumo Hayama was also deeply shocked; what was the deal with this kid?

How did he keep shattering his expectations time and again?

An eerie and ethereal footwork, a talent for swordsmanship no less than his own...

...and now he was demonstrating this kind of long-range, large-scale Ninjutsu.

Although Hinata Iruha had seen it once, he was still shocked by the scene.

The difference was that a hint of pride also showed on his face.

It was as if he were saying, "This ridiculous fighter is a Hyuga, my clansman."

"This is the heritage of Konoha's number one clan!"

The reinforcements on the other side, who had been full of bravado, stopped in their tracks after witnessing their teammates at the front being wiped out in an instant.

Everyone looked at each other, not daring to take a single step across the forbidden zone.

A sudden commotion broke out in the ranks, and then a path opened up as a tall, burly man stepped out.

As the leader of the reinforcements, Yoshikawa Iwa felt his blood boil with rage when he saw his men lying stiffly on the bridge.

Watching the blue light flare up again on the distant high wall, he clenched his fists and roared without looking back: "Everyone, advance in a scattered formation! No more than five people on the bridge at once!"

"Yes."

On the wall, Aokawa saw the enemies on the bridge moving again, but this time they didn't swarm forward all at once.

Instead, they broke into small groups and crossed the bridge in a scattered fashion.

It seemed the enemy had already adapted.

He sighed, regretfully canceling the Lightning Release Arrow he was condensing.

This was exactly why he hadn't wanted to use the Lightning Release Arrow too early.

No one was a fool; after seeing such a large-scale killing Ninjutsu once, the enemy would know to scatter.

A debut should naturally be saved for when the crowd is densest.

However, this scattered advance also significantly reduced the enemy's attack density.

To some extent, it also lightened the defensive pressure on the Konoha defenders.

The hope that had just ignited in the hearts of those on the wall was pulled back to reality.

Especially some of the weaker Chunin and Genin.

They had naively hoped that Aokawa could fire five more of those powerful Ninjutsu shots to wipe out the remaining enemies.

Or at the very least, that the enemy would retreat in the face of such difficulty.

But reality is always cruel.

Uchiha Inabi's gaze constantly scanned the enemy ranks.

Suddenly, his eyes darted around as an idea struck him.

He quickly stepped over to Aokawa and pointed at the crater Aokawa had blasted into the bridge.

"Aokawa, can you fire a few more and just destroy the bridge?"

Aokawa raised an eyebrow at the suggestion.

You have that much faith in me?

The Fuyuan Bridge was a vital channel for trade between the northwest of the Land of Frost and the Land of Hot Springs; its materials and design were top-notch.

Setting aside whether his Chakra reserves could support such a bombardment...

...its thickness and width made it incredibly difficult to destroy.

Perhaps only the legendary Lord Danzo could manage such a feat.

He shook his head, giving Uchiha Inabi a look of regret.

Shirakumo Hayama also spoke up: "Even if we break the bridge, it won't mean much. Unless the entire bridge is wiped out, the enemies can just use Body Flicker to cross the gap."

Below, Yoshikawa Iwa crossed the bridge along with the troops.

Saga hurried to meet him: "Lord Iwa!"

"Saga! You useless waste, what have you been doing?"

Yoshikawa Iwa immediately unleashed a torrent of abuse: "I have over three hundred men meant to scout after breaking through the Outpost Base."

"And you damn well lost dozens of my men just crossing a bridge!"

Saga looked aggrieved: "I didn't know the other side had such a powerful Ninjutsu."

"You didn't know?" Yoshikawa Iwa kicked Saga away. "You've been at this outpost for over a year; what the hell have you been doing for intelligence?"

Saga didn't dare resist the kick; after falling, he obediently returned to Yoshikawa Iwa's side.

Yoshikawa Iwa turned to see the Ninjas attacking the wall in small groups, and his anger flared up again: "Who taught you to fight like this?"

"Not waiting for reinforcements to attack together, using fifty men to assault such a high wall, and attacking in waves—how is this any different from serving yourself up on a platter?"

"Go pull your men back. You won't take this place in a year fighting like that."

"Yes!" Saga obediently took the order...
