Chapter 14 - chapter -14 ( Meeting With Ya Fei )

Leaving the first auction hall, Lou King and Ba Ji returned to the inspection room and waited patiently under the respectful gaze of the middle-aged man.

A few minutes later, with the sound of rapid footsteps, two shadows opened the door.

"Hehe, are you the owner of the Foundation Elixir and the other pills? Sir, it seems you have come to Wu Tan City for the first time?" Along with a strong scent of perfume, an enchanting yet intoxicating laugh was heard from beside Lou King. It caused his resolve to waver.

After cursing "Yao Xing" in his mind, Lou King retracted his face further inside his cloak and then turned to look at the woman dressed in red beside him.

From the close contact, Lou King once again realized the charm of Ya Fei. There were watery eyes on her glowing face, whose long eyelashes seemed to draw men toward her. Looking down, passing her beautiful white neck, Lou King almost got lost in her chest. Her natural charm affected even the calm-natured Lou King...

Restraining himself and calming down, Lou King looked toward Ya Fei and spoke in a voice that sounded like an old man: "Was the auction successful? Give me the money, I have some work!"

As if driven by curiosity to know the age of the black-robed person, Ya Fei covered her mouth while laughing. After a while, composed, she said, "Please let us wait a little longer. We are still completing the paperwork."

Nodding slightly, Lou King said nothing more and turned his gaze away from Ya Fei while remaining silent.

Seeing that mysterious person wrapped in black robes, Ya Fei's eyebrows twitched. It seemed her proud beauty had no effect. Pursuing her lips, her gaze scanned the mysterious person, trying to understand every detail to find out who she was dealing with.

After investigating Lou King and Ba Ji and still finding no information, Ya Fei looked toward Gu Ni in disappointment. As soon as their eyes met, Gu Ni pressed his lips together and asked: "Sir, Ya Fei has hardly ever seen an alchemist who does not have an alchemist's badge, may I know your name?"

"What? Girl, does coming to this place mean I have to tell you who I am?" From under the black cloak, Lou King's voice came out in a cold tone.

"Hehe, Ya Fei was just curious. If Sir does not want to tell, then Ya Fei will not force you." Ya Fei laughed lightly.

Through the black cloak, Lou King saw the fair legs wrapped in the red dress beside him. Although he could not help but admire her beauty, he reminded himself in his heart that for Ya Fei to become a top auctioneer, she was no ordinary "cauliflower" (simpleton). Everyone says beauty brings trouble; after all, there were countless admirers in the entire Wu Tan City, but to this day, none of them had achieved their goal. Although many of them blamed the main auction house for this, no one would claim she was a simple "flower."

With such a clever woman with him, Lou King was as cautious as if he were walking on ice. He feared that Ya Fei would find out something about him.

"Can Ya Fei ask you if the first time you came to the auction house, is there any connection with an alchemist?" Ya Fei asked Lou King with her charming grace.

"I think I might or might not know the alchemist you are talking about; the time to know about him has not come yet," Lou King said, twisting the words as if it were a mystery...

Ya Fei got no information from Lou King's expressionless words. Finally, she gave up the attempt to find new information and smilingly took out a crystal card. The card had the logo of the Primer Family: "Sir, this is the VIP card of the Primer Auction House. With this card, you can receive VIP treatment at any auction house of the Primer Family. Also, the tax charged in the auction will be reduced from 5% to 2%!"

Hearing this, Lou King's eyebrows rose. He liked these kinds of solid benefits compared to the previous nonsense, so after pausing for a while, he picked up the crystal card.

Seeing the long and pale hand emerging from the black cloak, a hint of surprise flashed in Ya Fei's eyes. The voice coming from under the black cloak was clearly that of an old man, but his hand looked like that of a young man. Who is this after all?

Meanwhile, a waitress ran inside and politely handed a green card to Ya Fei.

"Your Excellency, the Foundation Elixir and the other two pills together sold for 108,000 gold coins, and after deducting 2% as the auction fee, the remaining amount is in this." Ya Fei handed over the green card with a smile.

Taking the green card, Lou King was happy. Lou King glanced at the card and threw it toward Ya Fei.

Ya Fei saw the card coming toward her, caught it, and looked at Lou King in surprise.

"Does the Master have any problem or have we made some mistake?" Ya Fei asked with some surprise and concern.

"No, actually I want you to give me high-level monster cores and medicinal herbs in exchange for this as much as possible," Lou King said to Ya Fei. "I want you to provide me with 3rd-level monster cores and medicinal herbs in exchange for this."

Ya Fei heard Lou King's words and shook her head. "But forgive me, I must tell you that currently, we do not have many 3rd-level monster cores. We have three 3rd-level monster cores and several medicinal herbs that we can give you."

Lou King agreed, "Give me as much as you can provide in this."

"If that is the case, then you can wait here; I will go and bring the items because these items are very precious, so they are kept in a secret room where only high-profile people like us can go," Ya Fei said to Lou King and turned to go bring the items.

After waiting for some time, Ya Fei returned, and with her was a maid who held a ring on a plate in her hand. Ya Fei extended the ring toward Lou King.

"There are three 3rd-level monster cores and medicinal herbs in this; you can check. If you want more, we can order them from the main auction house," Ya Fei said to Lou King.

Lou King took out a space ring from his person and put the items into it.

"Your items cost 102,970 gold coins; the rest of the gold coins are kept in your card, please check this." She extended the card toward Lou King.

Lou King took the card and, after checking, kept his money.

Since he had received the money and the items, Lou King had no reason to stay, and casually pushing his hands together, said in a serious and calm voice: "I can go now, right?"

"Hehe, absolutely. If you wish to auction more pills or want to buy any items, please remember the Primer Auction House." Ya Fei smiled.

"Hmm." Responding casually, Lou King stood up and walked out of that tense room. Ba Ji, like a bodyguard, followed behind Lou King.

Watching the fading shadows of Lou King and Ba Ji, the smile gradually disappeared from Ya Fei's face, and she sat down on a nearby chair.

"Gu Ni Shu-shu (Uncle Gu Ni), is he really an alchemist?" After a while of awkward silence, Ya Fei broke the silence.

"Yes, and his alchemy ability is far better than mine. I cannot refine that second-grade Foundation Elixir and the pills," Gu Ni replied with a sigh.

"Even with the formula?" Slightly narrowing her eyes, a dangerous sentence escaped Ya Fei's red lips.

Hearing Ya Fei's words, Gu Ni's face changed, and he quickly said: "A formula is the life of an alchemist. Please do not think that again. Offending a mysterious alchemist carelessly, even for the Primer family, is a very big deal. A few decades ago, the famous Chech family of the Jia Ma Empire angered the Pill King Gu He, and four Dou Wangs sent by Gu He wiped them out. Even the royal family of the Jia Ma Empire could not handle the matter!"

"Even though our family is much more powerful than the Chech family, it is still better not to offend a mysterious alchemist. Alchemists are like a hornet's nest; once disturbed, they find countless friends, and many experts yearn to get help from an alchemist."

Seeing the nervous Gu Ni, Ya Fei said with a bitter smile while rubbing her forehead: "Gu Ni, what are you saying? I wasn't thinking anything like that; do you think Ya Fei has wasted these few years?"

"I was just reminding you." Hearing Ya Fei, Gu Ni breathed a sigh of relief. He was truly afraid she might do something foolish.

"And could there be a connection between that previous mysterious alchemist and this mysterious alchemist?"

"I don't understand what second-level or higher alchemists are doing here in this Wu Tan City. Could it be that something is attracting alchemists here?" Ya Fei asked Gu Ni in surprise and worry.

"I don't know, but we cannot offend them by interfering; we can only keep an eye on them and, upon getting information, can bring them to the main auction house," Gu Ni replied and left.

Ya Fei watched Gu Ni leave and, pursing her lips, sighed and rested her cheek on her hand. "Alchemists, they truly are very dangerous people, but why don't I have such talent?" Thinking this, she left.
