Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: Jinbe's Intrusion

"Wait, stop!" A blue Fishman ran toward them from a distance. He had sensed the battle happening here while on his way and quickened his pace to stop Hera, but unfortunately, he was a step too late. He arrived just in time to see Hera cut off Arlong's head.

The one who arrived was the Shichibukai, Jinbe. Just moments ago, while he was under the sea, Arlong's younger sister, Shakky, had seen Arlong's death and pleaded with Jinbe to save him.

Hera was also a bit surprised to see Jinbe. Jinbe's strength was considered among the stronger ones within the Shichibukai. She already had a den den mushi in her hand, ready to call for backup at any moment.

Jinbe sighed as he saw Arlong's death: "In the end, I still couldn't save him." Then, he looked at Hera in the sky and asked, "Why did you kill him?"

Hera waved her hand: "Isn't it obvious? As a pirate, he persecuted the people here, so I killed him."

Jinbe was somewhat indignant; after all, his companion had died right before his eyes: "You killed him because he persecuted you humans, but what about those who persecute us Fishmen? Arlong wasn't originally like this; he only became extreme after being hurt by humans."

Hera felt somewhat helpless and continued: "Those who persecute ordinary Fishmen should also be killed, it's just that I haven't encountered them yet. As for Arlong, he should seek revenge against whoever hurt him."

While Hera and Jinbe were in a standoff, the other two battles were still ongoing.

"Octopus Six-Sword Slash!" Hachi's six swords swung down continuously, attempting to suppress Kuina with speed and power.

Kuina did not panic because of the six swords swinging down simultaneously. Instead, she used her superb techniques to find the gaps between the sword swings and blocked them one by one.

She countered with another strike, but unfortunately, it was blocked by three of Hachi's swords together.

Kuina felt that Hachi was troublesome. Although Kuina was very strong and had also mastered the Six Powers, Hachi's six arms were still too flexible. Furthermore, the six swords allowed him to leave very few openings.

During the continuous battle, only the thought of slashing remained in Kuina's mind. In her highly concentrated state, Kuina saw it—she saw Hachi's moves, she saw the flow of Hachi's muscles, and she saw Hachi's next move.

Black Haki unconsciously wrapped around the blade. Kuina's slashes became heavier with each strike. Suddenly, a light burst from her eyes. Her Observation Haki seemed to see the flaws in Hachi's moves and the weak points in his muscles, and she slashed out instinctively.

Two of Hachi's arms were instantly severed. His "Six Sword Style" immediately became "Four-Sword Style." The sudden pain caused Hachi, whose will to fight was not high to begin with, to instantly lose all fighting spirit, and he tried to break away from the battle and flee.

Just as Kuina was about to give chase, she heard Hera's voice: "Don't chase him. Go help Ain; her side hasn't finished yet."

Hachi ran to the hall and saw Arlong's corpse along with Hera and Jinbe standing nearby. Hera said, "Hachi doesn't have a bounty, so I'll give you some face. You can take Hachi back with you."

On the way here, Nami had also told Hera that she had joined the Arlong Pirates because she wanted to save up money to buy back the village. Hachi's nature wasn't bad; he was just pulled in by Arlong. Since Jinbe had arrived, she would give Jinbe some face as well.

Most importantly, Hera remembered that the takoyaki made by this octopus seemed to be very delicious, and she was quite curious about it.

Jinbe said, "What about the other Fishmen? I want to take them away as well."

Jinbe didn't want to have a conflict with Hera either. On his way here, he had learned a bit about Hera's situation. Just the fact that she was Garp's granddaughter alone made Jinbe somewhat wary. Besides, he wasn't in the right this time. Jinbe's sense of chivalry and the current state of Fish-Man Island did not allow him to take action.

Hera said, "The others are a no-go. You're too late; only Kuroobi is left. He has a bounty of 8 million Berries, which shows he's usually no good either."

On the battlefield outside, Ain's fight with Kuroobi was a stalemate; neither could do anything to the other. Ain continuously regressed Kuroobi's attacks, making them ineffective, but on the other hand, the Fishman's speed and defense made it difficult for Ain to land a solid blow. Ain's Shigan and Tempest Kick were either dodged or blocked, failing to cause significant damage.

After Kuina joined in, the two of them quickly pushed him into a corner.

Kuina sheathed her sword to build up power: "There is nothing I cannot cut, and nothing I cannot sever. Shimotsuki Sword Style: Draw-Sword Slash."

With a strike as fast as lightning, Kuina fully unleashed her newly awakened Observation Haki and Armament Haki, slashing toward the weak point she saw in Kuroobi.

A black line emerged from where he was struck. Kuroobi was sliced by Kuina's sword into Kuro and Obi.
