Chapter 50 - Private Meeting with Manabu Horikita

Ryuen stared at Ryunosuke's back that was slowly moving away. As if having made up his mind, he turned toward Kazuma beside him and asked.

"Hey, I have a way to save the others. Only I need to leave the school, help me a little..."

As soon as Ryuen turned around, he saw that Class C's homeroom teacher had lost all his fighting spirit. Instantly, the veins on his forehead protruded like coiled dragons, as if about to burst from anger.

"What's the use of wallowing here?! Stand up and carry out your responsibility as a teacher, bastard!" Ryuen snapped while shaking Kazuma's limp body.

Kazuma looked at him with a rigid gaze. His eyes were teary; clearly he was already destroyed by too much pressure... he was finished.

"Tch!" Ryuen clicked his tongue in annoyance before asking again. "Sakagami-sensei, I'm asking you, if I bear all the blame alone, can the others avoid dropping out?"

Kazuma opened his mouth rigidly. It took a long time for him to produce sound with trembling lips. "If you are the main mastermind, and the others only acted because they were threatened... most likely they'll be free from dropping out, but the class point reduction still can't be avoided."

"That's enough!" Ryuen released Kazuma.

He had already gotten the answer he wanted and prepared to say goodbye to his subordinates. He no longer wanted to pay attention to this useless teacher; for him, Kazuma's current condition was no different from a mentally disabled person.

Ryuen put his hands in his pockets and left that place, leaving Kazuma sitting limply while continuing to ramble "it's all gone, it's all gone" repeatedly.

Manabu privately sought out Ryunosuke and invited him to meet on the school rooftop.

Ryunosuke decided to go fulfill that invitation, while also forcibly dragging along Suzune who was reluctant to come.

Suzune struggled with all her might, clearly showing she didn't want to go. She felt afraid her brother would hate her. Ryunosuke clicked his tongue softly and gave her a sincere warning.

"You just hide on the side and eavesdrop. I'll make you hear the words you've wanted to hear all this time."

Instantly Suzune stopped struggling. She turned her face away with a tsundere style. "Don't act as if you understand me so well..."

Despite talking like that, clearly Suzune now wanted to come along. Ryunosuke sneered internally.

(Obviously understands, what a brocon...)

Suzune stepped on Ryunosuke's foot again, even deliberately twisting her heel, making Ryunosuke grimace in pain.

The atmosphere between the two of them felt very subtle, making Megumi who was standing beside them feel very envious.

"How nice... I also want to joke around like that with Akasaka-kun..."

Beside them, Ayanokouji approached at an inappropriate time. He patiently wanted to ask Megumi how to learn that "disappearing" ability.

Megumi answered with a flat face. "Ayanokouji-kun, that's not a disappearing ability. That's my body constitution since birth, it can't be taught to others."

"I see..." Ayanokouji showed a disappointed expression.

For him, if he had that divine technique, even if after graduating school he was forced back to the White Room, he could escape again this way. Unfortunately he hoped for too much; Megumi's assassin technique couldn't be learned by him.

Megumi's eyes glinted slightly. "It seems you're thinking something very impolite, Ayanokouji-kun?"

Ayanokouji's eyes instantly sparkled. "Can this mind-reading ability be taught?"

"It can't, Ayanokouji-kun..."

Ayanokouji and Megumi left that place while chatting. They were very aware they shouldn't interfere in the next matter.

As an intelligent person, Ayanokouji of course knew what Ryunosuke wanted to do. And as someone good at reading situations to the point of almost reading minds, Megumi of course understood even better.

Megumi hoped that her only female friend could build a good relationship with her brother.

That's right!

Megumi had unilaterally considered Suzune as her good friend. But seeing her attitude, it seemed she also didn't refuse, or perhaps she just purely didn't realize it. After all, in some aspects, Suzune was quite insensitive and didn't pay attention to Megumi's small intentions at all.

On the other side, Ryunosuke had brought along the reluctant Suzune and told her to hide behind the wall near the door. He repeatedly warned her not to make a sound.

Suzune looked at him like looking at an idiot. "I know such basic things, don't treat me like an idiot."

Ryunosuke finally felt at ease. "That's true, you're not stupid."

Suzune glared at him sharply, her "evil" hand prepared to pinch Ryunosuke's waist, but the man managed to dodge.

"Alright, alright, I won't joke anymore. Get ready, I'll make you hear what you want to hear."

Suzune's expression froze, she slowly withdrew her hand and remained speechless. This time Ryunosuke didn't speak again; he looked at her bowing her head and gave a gentle faint smile.

"After this succeeds, you have to repay my kindness properly, treat me to good food. That's okay, right?"

Suzune turned her face away. "I don't understand what you're talking about..."

"Fine if you don't understand."

Ryunosuke shook his head resignedly then went out to meet Manabu.

Manabu had been waiting a long time near the barrier fence. He stared at the scenery in the distance without turning as he said, "You came..."

Ryunosuke put his hands in his pockets, facing the sea breeze that was blowing, and walked casually to Manabu's side. He leaned his hands on the fence while looking at the distant scenery.

"This remote island is truly beautiful!"

This school was indeed an artificial island, a special talent training place established by the Japanese government. Although outwardly this was a school, but inside it was indeed a school... it's just that the people inside weren't ordinary people. They were children of CEOs of large companies, world's top 500 companies, or children of top-tier talents.

The purpose of establishing this school was to educate those children to get the best education in Japan, so this group of people could peacefully serve the country. Apart from all that, those things had nothing to do with Ryunosuke.

His only thought at this time was just to work hard making money to pay off the giant debt out there, then start a new life: fall in love, get married, have children, and build a happy family. That was the life of ordinary people in general, as well as the life most desired by Ryunosuke.

The reason he worked so hard at this school was solely because there was a debt burden of almost 120 million yen hanging around his neck, forcing him to keep moving forward. Before that big debt was paid off, he felt he had no right to fall in love.

This was a gene embedded in the bones of people from his homeland (China). If you can't give a lifetime of happiness to a girl, then don't disturb her life, because you can't give everything she wants.

This was the reason why Ryunosuke rejected Morishita Ai, that very extraordinary girl. It wasn't that he didn't want to accept her, but he felt unworthy. He couldn't possibly enter into a relationship with a girl while carrying a debt of 120 million yen; that was very irresponsible to her. Before the debt was paid off, he wouldn't get romantically involved with any girl. That was his principle.
