Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Damn Man, Why Are You in Such a Hurry?

11:50 a.m.

Li Youwei arrived at the Hilton Hotel with Wu Bei.

Before the car had fully stopped, Wu Bei had already pushed the door open and gotten out.

"I'll go get the room first. Park the car and come up quickly."

Seeing how anxious he looked, Li Youwei's face flushed red as she sat in the car.

"Damn man, why are you in such a rush?"

"I've already come to a hotel with you. Do you think I'm going to run away? Honestly…"

After muttering to herself, Li Youwei got out of the car with a red face and handed the keys to the nearby security staff.

She then walked straight into the hotel.

After all, this hotel belonged to her family.

The staff would take care of the parking. What mattered most right now was figuring out exactly what kind of talent Wu Bei had awakened—

and whether he was really Nightmare.

However, the moment she entered the hotel lobby, Li Youwei frowned.

She saw Wu Bei arguing with the front desk staff.

Unable to hold back, she stepped forward and asked, "What happened?"

"Miss Li, this gentleman insists on booking Room 888, but it's already been reserved," the staff member explained immediately after seeing her.

She was clearly hoping Li Youwei would make the decision.

Li Youwei was stunned for a moment.

Booking a room for something like that, and he still had to pick a specific number?

What kind of problem did this guy have?

Still, thinking about how things might progress later—how even her body might end up belonging to him—

Li Youwei chose to stand on Wu Bei's side.

"Cancel the reservation and give the room to him."

"Yes, Miss Li."

With her approval, the staff no longer hesitated and quickly handed the room card to Wu Bei.

What shocked them even more was that Li Youwei shyly followed Wu Bei into the elevator.

Everyone's eyes nearly popped out.

What was going on?

The dignified heiress of the Li family, the campus goddess of Jiangcheng University, was checking into a hotel with a man?

That was far too shocking.

Li Youwei clearly noticed the strange looks from the staff.

Unable to stand it, she called out to Wu Bei, who was walking ahead, "Hey, why are you walking so fast? I'm not going to run away."

Wu Bei didn't respond.

He swiped the card, entered the room, and lay straight down on the bed, stretching lazily.

He was making his final preparations for battle.

That single action made Li Youwei's face burn all the way to her ears.

He just lay down?

Was he planning to wait for her like in those videos?

That was way too embarrassing.

Her face felt like it was on fire as she spoke in a trembling voice, "Aren't you… going to take a shower first?"

"Afterward," Wu Bei replied as he sat up, his expression serious.

Li Youwei's expression changed instantly. "No, no, you have to! This is my first time—I can't be that careless!"

"Huh?"

Wu Bei was completely confused.

First time?

Did this woman misunderstand something?

Just as Wu Bei was about to tell her to stop imagining things, the temperature in the room suddenly dropped.

Black mist slowly seeped out from the wall behind Li Youwei.

Wu Bei's eyes narrowed. He knew the entity was about to emerge.

He stood up and walked straight toward Li Youwei.

Thinking he was about to force himself on her, Li Youwei shouted, "Wu Bei, don't go too far!"

"I admit I admire you. I'm even willing to go further with you to survive in this apocalypse."

"But you can't humiliate me like this!"

Hearing that, Wu Bei immediately realized she had misunderstood everything.

With no time to explain, he suddenly reached out and threw Li Youwei onto the bed.

It's over…

This guy is completely inexperienced.

Is my life really going to be ruined like this?

Tears slid down Li Youwei's face as she lay there.

Just as she was about to close her eyes and accept her choice—

Wu Bei shouted, "Stay back! Don't get yourself killed!"

Those words made Li Youwei's heart tremble violently.

She finally noticed something was wrong.

The temperature in the room was far lower than when she first entered—at least twenty degrees lower.

Something's wrong.

There's an entity here!

Li Youwei shot upright.

In the spot where she had been standing, a construction worker wearing a safety helmet slowly emerged.

He held a bricklaying trowel in his hand, his face twisted with malice as he stared at them.

Damn it…

At that moment, Li Youwei finally understood.

Wu Bei hadn't tried to force himself on her—he had sensed the entity.

And his insistence on Room 888 meant he had known all along that there was a ghost here.

Her breathing grew tense. "Wu Bei, this entity's aura is terrifying. Don't force it. I'll call for backup right now!"

She reached for her phone, preparing to contact the forces stationed in Jiangcheng.

However, the moment she took her phone out, her eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets.

Wu Bei's hands had turned into blades as he moved like a war god, slashing at the entity.

No—

More accurately, he was slaughtering it.

The entity couldn't even touch him.

That speed…

Wu Bei's agility had to be at least thirty points.

How was that possible?

Li Youwei was completely stunned.

The apocalypse had only begun two hours ago. How could Wu Bei already be this strong?

Just as she focused on the battle, her phone rang.

Seeing her father's name, Li Huaiyu, she instinctively answered.

"Weiwei, we've detected an entity at the Hilton Hotel. The energy fluctuation is extremely intense!"

"How many combat-capable people do you have there? Take them and hold it off. The main force will arrive in one hour!"

Hearing her father's words, Li Youwei glanced at the entity kneeling on the ground, repeatedly kowtowing and begging for mercy.

The corner of her mouth twitched.

"Dad, that won't be necessary. This entity… doesn't look that scary."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Li Huaiyu said anxiously."That entity is very likely a construction worker who died after drinking on the job during the hotel's construction. Its resentment is extremely strong!"

"You must not lower your guard, or it could cost you your life!"

"Oh."

Li Youwei replied absentmindedly.

She truly couldn't see how this entity was dangerous at all.

What she did see was how ridiculously strong Wu Bei was.

Wanting to confirm Wu Bei's identity and awakened talent, she grew impatient as her father continued talking.

"Alright, alright, I'm busy. We'll talk later."

She hung up the phone.

Then she walked over to Wu Bei with curiosity written all over her face.

"What are you picking up?"

Wu Bei replied calmly, "Underworld money."
