Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

Jasmine calls out to Rex, and he starts walking with her. The two of them keep wandering along the road, and soon they reach near that abandoned house again.

There, they notice a man who looks extremely suspicious.

He has tattoos covering his neck and is wearing a sleeveless vest and pants. After a moment, the man gets on his bike and rides away.

Rex and Jasmine can't figure out how to find out who is really behind all this. Feeling defeated, they return home.

Night falls. After dinner, Rex sits alone in his room. He keeps thinking—Should I sleep or not? If I sleep, that thing will bother me again in my dreams.

But then another thought makes him smile—Tomorrow, I'm going to college.

With that excitement, he decides to sleep. Surprisingly, this time, he doesn't get any nightmare.

Morning comes. Rex wakes up early and gets ready quickly. He leaves for college with Jasmine. Before they go, Uncle Vasu wishes Rex all the best for his first day of college. Rex smiles and says, "Thanks, Uncle."

As they walk, Rex says nervously, "I'm feeling nervous. It's my first day in college."

Jasmine replies, "That feeling is normal in the beginning. In two or three days, you'll get used to it."

Hearing this, Rex gives a funny, slightly evil smile. Jasmine looks at him and says, "What a weird guy you are."

Soon, they reach the college gate. One of Jasmine's friends comes over. Her name is Rika. She asks, "Jasmine, who is this guy? I've never seen him before."

Confidently, Rex says, "I'm Rex. Jasmine's brother."

Hearing this makes Jasmine feel good, and she smiles.

All three of them enter the college. Rex is completely amazed. He looks at everything carefully and says, "So this is what a college looks like from the inside. It's so big—and so nice."

Jasmine says, "Come on, I'll drop you at your class."

Jasmine and Rika start walking Rex toward his classroom. On the way, Rex notices the same skinny boy with a tattoo-covered neck.

Rex mutters, "So that suspicious guy studies in this college too."

Jasmine drops Rex outside his classroom. Rika and Jasmine wish him all the best and head toward their own class. Rex says goodbye and enters his classroom.

As soon as he walks in, he notices everyone staring at him. Feeling nervous, he introduces himself. "My name is Rex. I've come to college for the first time. I'm happy to meet you all. I hope we can all become good friends."

Soon, whispers spread across the room.

"Who is this guy? He looks like a total idiot."

"He doesn't even know how to give an introduction. He was so nervous—haha."

Hearing all this, Rex quietly walks to the last bench and sits down.

The teacher enters the class and starts teaching.

During the break, as Rex is about to step outside, a boy from his class calls him over. "I didn't like your introduction," the boy says. His name is Joe.

Rex replies calmly, "I'm not good at giving introductions."

Joe snaps, "So what do you expect me to do about that? And maybe you don't know who you're talking to."

Rex says honestly, "No, I don't know. But can you be my friend?"

The moment Rex says this, Joe punches him hard in the stomach. Rex falls to the ground.

Furious, Joe shouts, "You trash. You don't have the status to be my friend. There's a huge difference between you and me. If you ever say something like that again, I'll kill you."

Joe walks away.

Another boy comes over, helps Rex up, and makes him sit back on his bench. The entire class is staring at Rex, whispering among themselves, wondering what Rex could have said to make Joe so angry.

Joe was storming out in anger when his eyes fell on something shocking on the ground.

His friend's clothes had been stripped off, and someone had beaten him badly and forced him into a humiliating position.

Joe sprinted toward him.

"Koji! Who did this to you? Are you okay?!"

Koji was crying. "I… I'm fine."

Joe roared in rage, "Who did this to you?!"

"Zack," Koji replied through tears.

Joe clenched his fists. That bastard Zack… I won't let him live, he swore in his mind.

Without wasting another second, Joe barged straight into the third-year classroom. Zack was sitting there with his gang, relaxed and laughing.

Joe shouted, "Zack, you son of a bitch! Today I'll break you apart! How dare you do that to Koji?!"

Joe charged at him, and Zack's friends rushed forward to beat Joe down. But Joe fought alone—punching, kicking, dropping one after another.

Zack watched with interest. I've never seen this runt before. Must be a first-year… but he's got guts.

After knocking everyone down, Joe advanced toward Zack. But Zack suddenly kicked Joe hard in the stomach, sending him flying backward.

Joe didn't stop. He got up instantly and rushed again.

Suddenly—

BAM!

A full 360-degree kick slammed into Joe's face.

Even then, Joe endured it and stayed on his feet.

Zack narrowed his eyes. This guy's tough. After taking this much damage, he's still standing.

Joe now understood one thing clearly—Zack was far stronger than him. Fighting him physically any longer meant certain defeat.

Joe screamed, "You bastard! I'll kill you!"

With that, he turned and ran toward his classroom. Inside his bag was a knife.

Zack chased after him.

Joe pushed past students desperately, sprinting through the corridor, thinking only one thing—I need the knife.

He burst into the classroom, panting heavily. Rex noticed him immediately and thought, What happened to him? Why is he breathing like that?

Joe grabbed his bag and pulled out the knife just as Zack entered the classroom.

Joe screamed and lunged at him with the blade—but Zack dodged.

Joe tried a trick. He pretended to stab Zack's face, then suddenly slashed toward his leg.

Zack managed to avoid a fatal hit, but the blade still cut him.

Now Zack was furious.

He threw a brutal punch at Joe, knocking the knife out of his hand. Joe's nose started bleeding instantly.

Zack raised his fist again. Joe braced himself—but instead—

WHAM!

A deadly serious 360-degree kick landed cleanly.

Joe collapsed, completely knocked out.

Zack stepped forward, ready to kill him.

But Koji rushed in, grabbed Zack's legs, and started crying.

"Please don't kill him… please… he's my friend…"

Zack was still raging. He kicked Koji in the face and shoved him aside.

Rex, who had seen everything, shouted, "Stop! That's enough!"

Zack turned and looked at Rex.

It's him… the guy who was walking with Jasmine. How dare he? Why is he interfering?

Zack moved forward to attack Rex—

"ENOUGH, ZACK."

The voice came from the classroom door.

Zack froze.

Standing at the gate was the same suspicious man…

the skinny guy with tattoos wrapped around his neck.

The tattooed man's name was Veer.

He was the right-hand man of the DKG Gang's 3rd Elite.

The moment everyone saw him, the entire class went silent in shock.

Why is someone this dangerous inside our classroom?

Students immediately started greeting him with respect.

Rex was completely confused.

First Joe attacked me. Then Zack nearly killed Joe. And now this suspicious tattooed guy is here… and everyone's greeting him? What the hell is going on?

Zack quickly spoke up, forcing a smile.

"Veer bhai… how did you end up here? We were just messing around among ourselves."

Veer looked at him calmly and said,

"I'd like to play with you too."

Those words alone were enough.

Zack's face went pale. He immediately sat down in front of Veer, bowing slightly and apologizing.

Veer spoke coldly,

"Make sure this doesn't happen again."

"Yes, boss… it won't," Zack replied without hesitation.

After that, Veer turned around and walked away.

Rex's mind was filled with questions, but he pushed them aside. Right now, Joe and Koji needed help.

Rex lifted Joe, while the same boy who had helped Rex earlier—when Joe punched him—picked up Koji. Together, they took both of them to the medical room.

After dropping them off, Rex and the boy started walking back toward class.

Rex asked,

"Hey, what's your name? You helped me earlier too… thanks for that."

The boy adjusted his glasses and replied,

"There's no need to thank me. By the way, my name is Rimu."

Rex thought to himself,

This glasses guy… why does he feel familiar? Why does he look similar to someone I know?

Just then, Jasmine and Rika came running toward Rex.

Jasmine said anxiously,

"I heard there was a huge fight in your class today—and that Zack was involved. You weren't hurt, right? I saw you coming out of the medical room… are you okay?"

Rex smiled slightly.

"Relax, didi. Stay calm. I'll tell you everything that happened on the way."

Then Rex looked at Rika and said,

"Oh—now I get it. Rimu looks like you, that's why I felt I'd seen him before."

Rika laughed.

"He's my younger brother. And it's nice that you two are in the same class."

She then turned to Rimu.

"You're not hurt too, right?"

"No, didi. I'm fine," Rimu replied.

Meanwhile, in the medical room, the doctor was questioning Joe and Koji.

"How did you both get injured this badly?"

They replied nervously,

"We… we fell down the stairs."

The doctor frowned.

"Looking at these injuries, it doesn't seem like a simple fall. There's clearly more to it. I won't ask further but next time, don't let things get this bad. You could lose your lives."

After getting bandaged, Joe and Koji thanked the doctor.

Now the scene shifted to Zack.

He was walking alone, thinking angrily.

Veer bhai never interferes in anything… so why did he stop me today? And why did he come himself instead of sending someone else?

I need to find out why he came.

If he hadn't shown up… I would've killed those three bastards today.

Suddenly, a voice came from behind him.

"Looks like you're thinking pretty deeply."

Zack froze.

He slowly turned around.

Veer was standing right behind him—

a cigarette between his fingers.

Zack's heart skipped a beat.

Twice in one day… summoned by the killing machine, he thought.

Looks like I'm dead today.

Veer took a drag from his cigarette, staring straight into Zack's eyes.

Those eyes said everything—

They were hungry for blood.
