"I didn't expect New York to hide so many Vampires and Werewolves!"
At the MIB Headquarters, Agent O's face showed surprise after hearing the news Mike brought back.
This stuff is indeed quite scary.
Previously, Blade had always been on the front lines, targeting only Blood Servant-level Vampires, so it wasn't a big deal. But now, suddenly discovering that New York also has powerful Vampires that have lived for thousands of years, this is definitely a horror story.
If those Vampires were also intent on causing destruction like Deacon, the consequences would be unimaginable.
"You said that Alexander has also lived for thousands of years, and is the father of the First Vampire and the First Werewolf. I wonder if we can recruit him into the Organization," Agent O thought of getting outside help.
After all, Alexander's identity is significant, and he definitely has expertise in dealing with Vampires and Werewolves.
"It's unlikely. Mr. Alexander is a peace-lover," Mike shook his head, rejecting Agent O's suggestion.
A pacifist means he is unwilling to easily get involved in trouble. Although Mr. Alexander himself is very powerful, having always been in a stable environment, if he were truly asked to fight, he probably wouldn't be able to unleash much of his strength.
There's a high probability that he wouldn't be a match for those second-generation Vampires who have also lived for thousands of years.
Alexander's ability might be more reflected in his experience.
"Is that so?" Agent O's expression was a little disappointed. After thinking for a moment, she continued, "Agent Z and I still need to discuss his suggestion further."
Alexander's suggestion, translated, means that the MIB should "treat favorably" those Vampires and Werewolves who have not committed evil deeds.
Regarding this point, Agent O felt it was indeed worth considering.
"OK, notify me when you have a result. I'm going out for a walk first," Mike had no interest in staying in the office to listen to Agent O and Agent Z discuss matters.
Bidding farewell to the two "elders," Mike brought Tina to the MIB's main hall, where new alien immigrants are registered regularly.
Here, Mike often picks up different types of attribute traits.
For example, the flexibility and agility attributes from Feline aliens, and the scent and stamina traits from Canine aliens.
Although these attributes are "a drop in the bucket" for Mike now, the feeling of accumulating little by little is also good.
"Hey, James, where's your new partner?" Mike, standing at the railing on the second floor of the hall, saw Agent J returning alone below.
As far as Mike knew, Agent J had changed several partners since he separated from Agent L during this period.
He maintained a rate of almost one new partner per month.
"Don't even get me started. The quality of new recruits is getting worse and worse," Agent J came to the second floor and complained, "You definitely wouldn't believe that many of them, after a month, still can't even distinguish between common alien species or their genders…."
"There are even some dunderheads who, because they believe aliens are also intelligent beings, are unwilling to shoot them…"
It was clear that Agent J had encountered many bizarre partners since graduating from Agent K's tutelage.
However, he probably didn't realize that when he first became a MIB Agent, he himself didn't recognize the gender of a pregnant aliens.
It was fortunate that Agent K was a patient and good teacher, which is why Agent J is where he is today.
"By the way, why are you at Headquarters today?" After a long rant, Agent J seemed to be in a much better mood.
"The Vampire situation isn't over yet…" Mike explained the situation with the Vampires and Werewolves in New York.
Within the MIB, it's very common for familiar agents to exchange information.
"Is the Vampire force that strong? Compared to them, aliens are practically well-behaved babies," Agent J exclaimed.
Generally speaking, aliens who specifically come to Earth to cause trouble are exceptions; one might not encounter such a case for many years.
Most immigrants to Earth are "law-abiding citizens" who usually strictly adhere to Earth's laws. Compared to the "dangerous" Vampires, most aliens are indeed as well-behaved as babies.
And for agents like James, their usual work mostly involves "home visits" to aliens, serving as a monitoring and "deterrent" role.
"Agent J, we have a new candidate for your partner. Come with me to take a look."
Just as the two were chatting, a MIB civilian staff member approached James.
Yes, regular MIB Agents work in pairs.
Since James currently doesn't have a partner, MIB will naturally arrange one for him.
"I hope this new partner is more astute, otherwise, I might as well get a dog," Agent J habitually complained, then bid farewell to Mike and left with the civilian staff.
Agent J probably couldn't imagine at that moment that his words would turn out to be prophetic. In the future, he would indeed partner with a talkative pug for a period.
On the other side, after Mike stayed on the second floor for a while longer, Agent O also sent someone to call him back to her office.
"The MIB is preparing to expand the Archives Department to categorize and centrally manage the information of kind and harmless Vampires and Werewolves…" Agent O directly stated the solution for the orderly Vampires and Werewolves.
It seemed they were treating Vampires and Werewolves similarly to aliens.
For the good ones, they would provide a certain degree of protection and monitoring, while for the bad ones, they would adopt an extermination policy.
The MIB were very familiar with this mode of operation.
"I will inform Alexander of this news," Mike knew that Agent O's words were not entirely directed at him.
Then, he asked, "So, what do you need me and my X Squad to do?"
Since MIB Headquarters planned to rectify the Vampire and Werewolf situation, the X Squad, specifically formed for such events, should also have special arrangements.
"Currently, there aren't many squads in the Organization dealing with Vampires and Werewolves, so the Organization wants to entrust the work of identifying and registering Vampires and Werewolves entirely to you and your X Squad," as expected, Agent O directly placed the heavy burden on Mike and his X Squad.
This was not surprising.
As far as Mike knew, there were only two special agents of the MIB in New York: himself and Blade. Now Blade had run off to clear his head.
So, it was predictable that the work would fall to the X Squad.
Of course, if the X Squad's tasks became heavier, their corresponding benefits and support would also increase.
Then, Agent O continued, "To ensure you can successfully complete the mission, the X Squad's priority among agents will be raised to the highest level starting now. As long as the mission requires it, you can temporarily mobilize all other idle agent teams in the MIB…."
"Of course, given the situation of the X Squad members, for every Vampire or Werewolf you register and process, the Organization will give you an additional reward…"
Now that's more like it!
With both military support and special rewards, it was clear that MIB Headquarters placed great importance on this operation targeting Vampires and Werewolves.
"Mission accomplished!" With the deserved benefits secured, Mike readily accepted the mission.
Originally, even if MIB Headquarters hadn't said anything, Mike would have visited those Vampires and Werewolves one by one to improve his own strength.
Now, it was like getting paid to work, completing the Organization's tasks while also taking care of his own business.
