Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Enrollment

Medford High School is the only public high school in Medford Town.

Because of its tuition-free policy, this welfare-oriented public high school is very popular among locals.

By the way, Sheldon and Georgie both attend high school at this school.

In Connie's car, Mike sat in the front passenger seat, while Dennis remained silent in the back.

"Dennis, are you still angry about yesterday?" Mike asked, tilting his head. "Come on, please believe me, I didn't do it on purpose."

Yesterday, when Dennis woke up in the car and found Mike gone, he was almost scared out of his wits.

Later, although he was appeased by Connie's secret recipe brisket and George's beer, from then on, he looked at Mike with a "resentful" expression and refused to speak to him.

"You're such a big boy, still acting like a child!" Seeing that Dennis still ignored him, Mike shrugged, looking helpless.

Connie, who was driving, was amused by their interaction. It was clear she was very fond of Mike, this handsome and cheerful young man.

She smiled and asked, "Mike, would you like to experience driving yourself to school?"

"Of course!" Mike replied. "That would be cool, wouldn't it?"

Sitting in the back, Dennis listened to the conversation between the two in front and finally couldn't help but speak up, stopping them: "No, Mike, you're not yet sixteen. Driving a vehicle is illegal…"

Seeing that Dennis finally deigned to speak, the two in front exchanged glances and both laughed happily.

Dennis also realized that Mike and the other person were just "joking."

Calming down, he still said seriously, "Listen, Mike, I'm not angry at you, I'm angry at myself. I shouldn't have let you drive the RV.

Also, I hope you don't touch the steering wheel again until you get your driver's license."

Mike knew Dennis was concerned about him, so he waved to the back and said, "Got it~"

Just as Dennis relaxed, he heard Mike ask, "Then Dennis, can I touch the steering wheel when I'm taking the driving test?"

...

In the principal's office, Principal Tom, nearly sixty years old, held Mike's transfer file.

Seeing that the file did not specify the reason for the transfer, Principal Tom asked suspiciously, "Can you tell me in detail the reason for Mike's transfer?"

Dennis, who was fully in charge of Mike's transfer matters, replied, "I'm sorry, that's private, and I cannot give you an answer.

However, I can assure you that Mike is a sensible and obedient great young man.

The problem with the transfer is not with him; he just had bad luck and got implicated."

Connie, who was beside them, although she didn't know the reason for Mike's transfer, still helped to say, "Tom, does Mike look like a bad kid to you? Look outside, how popular he is!"

Because today was a special day, Mike had specially tidied himself up before leaving home.

His black casual suit, paired with his handsome face, immediately drew the attention of girls as soon as he appeared on campus.

They called their friends, following Mike like a pilgrimage.

Indeed, even after Mike entered the principal's office, they refused to leave, crowding around the office door, stretching their necks like ostriches to peer inside.

Principal Tom heard Connie's reminder, stood up, and looked towards the door. Sure enough, the doorway was packed with girls, their faces excited, their gazes constantly scanning Mike.

American schools advocate for free education, and the high school stage is precisely when students' personalities are most flamboyant.

These girls, caught "peeking" by the principal, showed no intention of being discreet. Each one continued to stare at Mike's profile, and occasional bursts of laughter could be heard.

"This is terrible…" Principal Tom walked to the doorway and looked out; the hallway was completely filled with excited high school girls.

Tom could say this was the most popular the principal's office had ever been.

Inside the office, Dennis turned to look at the crazy girls at the door, then absurdly patted Mike's shoulder and reminded him, "Mike, you must protect yourself at school from now on…"

Connie also empathized, "Yes, at least before they devour you, remember to bring a small umbrella."

"Connie, he's still a child…" Dennis looked speechlessly at Connie after hearing the inappropriate content.

"Oh, I was just kidding~" Connie spread her hands, signaling surrender.

After appeasing the overreacting Dennis, she went to Mike's side and whispered, "If you need it, you can buy it at the convenience store…"

The room was only so big, so Dennis also heard Connie's whispered words. However, this time, he surprisingly didn't speak up to refute her.

Mike, on his part, hadn't expected his charm to be so great now.

As for Connie's kind "reminder," he pretended not to understand, fully immersing himself in the role of a good child.

On the other side, Principal Tom was trying to persuade the girls to leave, but even when the school bell rang, there were still no signs of them leaving.

"Listen, if anyone is still here in three minutes, don't blame me for deducting her credits!" Principal Tom took out a small notebook and shouted loudly.

As expected, for high school students, deducting points was very effective.

Not long after Tom's words fell, the girls quickly left the hallway and returned to their respective classrooms.

After dealing with the girls, Principal Tom closed the office door and sat back down in his leather chair.

Wiping the sweat from his forehead, he also curiously looked at Mike's handsome face, his gaze complex, filled with envy, and more envy…

"Alright, I understand your identity now." Principal Tom withdrew his envious gaze, took out a set of test papers from the drawer, and said, "You have one hour. If your score is satisfactory, you can go to twelfth grade. Understand?"

"Understood~" Mike politely took the test papers and went to a nearby table.

When he opened the test papers, Mike was somewhat surprised; it was actually a comprehensive test for twelfth grade.

Mike was originally in the tenth grade at his old high school, and after a summer vacation, he should have just entered eleventh grade.

Under normal circumstances, the school should have tested his tenth grade academics.

However, looking at the principal's wrinkled old face, Mike maliciously guessed: It must be that his handsomeness offended the principal, which led the other party to give him a difficult task, wanting to make things hard for him.

However, Mike already had knowledge up to university level in his mind.

After his IQ rose to over one hundred and forty, all the knowledge points he should have forgotten were retrieved from his former teachers.

So Principal Tom's small test this time did not stump Mike.

...

About twenty minutes later, the test papers were once again placed in front of Principal Tom.

"Mike, if you think the questions are too difficult, you can ask me to change the test papers," Principal Tom said with a hint of smugness.

He saw Mike return the test papers so quickly and thought he was stumped by the questions.

"No need, this test paper is just right," Mike replied confidently.
