She looked like a character out of one of those cheesy K-dramas Hera watched when she thought I wasn't looking. "It was a mistake of my wolf's! Nyla was... she was confused! She's been under a lot of stress!"
"Confused?" Liric scoffed. "Well. I was not confused. I was very, very certain."
I smiled, a slowly. "A mistake, huh? Funny how your wolf seems to make the same mistakes mine does."
We started walking down the path, the dry leaves crunching beneath our boots. The trees were thick here, their branches weaving a canopy that filtered the sunlight into golden spears. For a moment, it felt like we were the only two people in the world.
