Disclaimer: This series is aimed towards a more mature audience than my other books. I'm not sure if I'll do smut or how much, but I will be addressing more mature themes, and matters of mental health, violence, and other things that may be disturbing.

[Worldbuilding]

Omegaverse: This story takes place in the omegaverse (Α/β/Ω). It's kind of hard to explain, so... I'd just look it up.

Regarding Heats / Ruts: In this world, it varies from person to person, from going completely blank to becoming increasingly aggressive / masochistic, etc.

The Archmage's Constabulary: The Archmage's Constabulary is a global branch of the government that functions as this world's magical elite police that presides over magical issues. Normal police exist, but when something is deemed too dangerous, too abnormal, or too difficult for normal police, the Archmage's Constabulary is called in. In function, it's kind of similar to the nighthawks in LOTM.

Archmage's ConstabularyRanks: From highest ranking to lowest: Gold stripe (Commissioner), Silver stripe (Prefecture Commissioner), White stripe (Inspector), Black coat (Standard Officer), Grey coat (Recruit / Cadet).

Ateliers and the Academy: Mages at a young age usually study in small schools called ateliers up until their adulthood (18). It's not uncommon for mages to stay in their ateliers for their post-atelier education, working closer with their masters, but many choose to attend academies, which are the universities of the era. They are tasked with teaching all subjects including world views, history, technology, etc. in addition to just magic.

[Spells and Magic]

Spellcasting: Spellcasting is done through drawing upon mana, a resource, and using mana to manifest a certain effect. Most of the time, spells also need a 'trigger' to function: for example, the incantation of the spell's name, the snap of a finger, the usage of a magic tome as a medium, etc. Accomplished mages are able to cast spells without a verbal component, especially if the spell is of a lesser magnitude, and calling upon mana becomes second nature to where they don't have to make a conscious effort at all.

Mana: Mana is the resource for magic and spellcasting and runs in the blood (veins) of mages. Every human is born with a certain amount of mana, but can improve their mana capacity and handling through practice. In the case that Mana is overused, the mage will likely have a severe bout of anemia or the like. Medically speaking, it is similar to blood sugar or hemoglobin.
