Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The Justice League is Formed!

**Chapter 14: The Justice League is Formed!**

"I'm not joining some makeshift little club."

Having sent the ordinary people that Cyborg brought back down to the ground safely, Hal Jordan rejected Ben's suggestion without hesitation.

Since joining the Green Lantern Corps, Hal Jordan took pride in his identity as a Green Lantern.

Protecting Earth and Sector 2814 was his responsibility. Collaborating with other heroes this time was just him fulfilling his Green Lantern duties.

"We really should form an official team."

Hearing Hal Jordan's refusal, Batman offered his perspective.

After today's battle, he clearly realized that some crises couldn't be solved by a single hero alone.

They needed to form an efficient and tight-knit team. Only in this way, when facing similar crises, could they minimize the harm caused by enemies.

"Why? Don't you not want others interfering in your city?"

Hal was a bit surprised by Batman's words. When they first met, this guy didn't have this attitude.

Although he acknowledged Batman's abilities after fighting side by side on Apokolips, he still remembered that the first time they met, the other party had bluntly told him to leave his city.

"It can keep the GCPD off my back, and the Air Force off yours..."

Batman understood Hal Jordan's personality perfectly. He didn't spout high-sounding righteousness or other similar words.

He simply explained that after the team was established, even if they acted alone, their actions could be freer, reducing some unnecessary hindrances.

"Come on, I have a universe to protect, so pass."

Hearing Batman's words, Hal Jordan didn't take the bait. Or perhaps in his eyes, only a guy like Batman, whom the police regarded as a thorn in their side, needed such convenience.

"Don't be like that. We can do this together."

Seeing Hal unmoved, The Flash, as Hal Jordan's friend, tried to help persuade him.

He hoped to fight alongside more friends.

"Oh? Can you fly in space?"

Hal didn't waver at his friend's invitation. The sector he was responsible for wasn't just Earth. As a Green Lantern, he also needed to maintain peace on other planets within his sector.

These friends on Earth wouldn't be able to help him in the vast universe.

"I can."

Hearing the Green Lantern's question, Superman responded with a sincere and serious expression.

"..."

Hearing Superman's response, Hal fell silent. There was no denying that Superman was definitely the strongest among the heroes he knew.

Moreover, Superman wasn't lying; he could indeed fly freely in the vacuum of space.

Stuck by Superman's words, Hal didn't know what excuse to use to decline politely for a moment.

"Just join, Hal Jordan! Facing a crisis of today's level, we need the Green Lantern's power!"

At this time, Ben also spoke up to persuade him. Even though the threat of Darkseid had temporarily passed, Earth, as the core of the DC Universe, was still disaster-prone.

No matter which city, a bunch of villains could pop up at any time, and occasionally pull off some big stunt capable of destroying all mankind.

Green Lantern was an indispensable part of the Justice League, and Ben hoped he could join.

"Fine, I'll join. But the name has to change! 'Father Issues Avengers,' are you serious?"

Under Ben's persuasion, Hal finally relented, but he had a big problem with the team name.

"Is there a problem?" Hearing Hal oppose the proposed organization name, Ben spread his hands and looked at the heroes present. "Of everyone here, whose biological father accompanied them to adulthood?"

"I want to fix this kid."

Hearing Ben's words, Hal Jordan just felt his fist harden. Without another word, he grabbed Ben and ground his knuckles into Ben's head.

"Agreed. The joke was indeed a bit too much."

Even The Flash didn't stop Hal Jordan's actions after hearing Ben's words.

"...Although I don't have a good relationship with my dad, he really did raise me."

After a moment of silence, Cyborg raised his hand silently, indicating that his situation was different from what Ben said.

Although Wonder Woman Diana didn't feel anything particular, she also thought Ben's dark humor was inappropriate.

Batman frowned. Also feeling offended, he didn't stop Hal when he saw Ben getting "fixed."

He was pondering a question: who exactly was this teenager who could transform into aliens?

According to satellite monitoring, this kid first appeared getting off an ordinary bus.

This teenager seemed to have appeared out of thin air. Despite using all his means, he hadn't been able to find any of the boy's past information.

The biggest problem was that this kid knew a little too much about all of them.

During the battle on Apokolips, Batman and Hal had a brief exchange about this kid.

This kid was able to call out Hal Jordan's true identity upon meeting him.

And after that, although he didn't say it explicitly, he had been hinting at his own true identity to Hal.

He was also the first to know about the Parademons and that Darkseid was about to invade.

He even called out Superman's Earth name, and even his workplace.

When meeting Cyborg and Shazam, he also recognized them at a glance and understood their abilities, completing the initial plan arrangements.

Batman remained suspicious of this teenager.

"Ahem~"

Seeing the topic gradually drifting away, Superman noticed that a large number of ordinary people were approaching them.

To ensure the team could be established smoothly, he pretended to cough lightly, making the messing-around group stop temporarily.

"Alright everyone, back to the point. We really do need to form a team so that when we encounter similar crises, we can unite in time."

Briefly stating the purpose of forming this team, Superman also said the organization name he had thought of, asking for his friends' opinions.

"Justice League. How's that name?"

"Agreed."

Regarding Superman's proposal, thinking about Ben's prankish name, Hal and The Flash expressed their agreement.

"I think it works. It's a good name."

Wonder Woman also nodded. She was satisfied with the name Superman chose for the team.

"Let's go with this name then!"

Batman didn't care about the team name. After Superman's proposal got the majority's approval, he agreed, wanting to end this topic and start preparing for team building.

"I have a spare base that can serve as the team's temporary headquarters."
