Chapter 16 - Love Triangle?

When Sylvia saw that they were about to reach class, she suddenly acted as if she remembered something.

"Miss Aurelia, tomorrow we plan to enter the F-rank Dungeon to level up. How about you tag along with us?"

She invited lightly.

"We have a melee attacker, a ranger, and a healer already. If you, a mage, join us, our team combination will be perfect. We might even be able to complete a few more in the same day. What do you think?"

There was a reason why the Elite Hunter Academy gathered each and every student in the same place for study despite having different classes.

And that was to form connections.

Connections that were necessary to form a team.

After all, to conquer a dungeon, a solo hunter was never enough, or rather, extremely inefficient and risky.

At one point, no matter how strong you were, you would always need your team. And besides, even when you joined a guild later, leadership and teammate coordination were very useful skills.

That's why the Elite Hunter Academy encouraged its students to form teams and hunt down monsters. For this, they even had a controlled dungeon of lower ranks that was free for their students to hunt and level up.

After all, hunters could learn only when they experienced the fight, not from books.

So Sylvia and Evan had already made their plan to go to a dungeon in the cafeteria. Soren didn't hear them as he was busy searching for his targets.

"F-rank Dungeon?"

Aurelia spoke lightly, considering her proposal.

"Yeah… although you are already level 20, it should still be useful to you. Of course, if you think it is too low level, we can target E-rank too, although you might need to wait a bit."

F-rank dungeons were the lowest level of dungeon in this world, and the most powerful monster inside was only level 20 at max.

But Sylvia suddenly remembered that Aurelia was already level 20. So, she felt that she might reject it when…

"Okay, let's go then. I also want to hone my skills."

Aurelia actually agreed, making her smile.

In fact, the reason Aurelia agreed wasn't because of Sylvia, nor because she wanted to experience the dungeon.

She had already cleared an F-rank dungeon by herself while training with her mother after all.

Rather, she wanted to go because that guy was also on this team. The guy who was far better than her, even though she was at a higher level.

'His name is Evan, isn't it? Let's see how powerful you actually are.'

Aurelia was very competitive. When she saw how Evan was able to kill a monster with just one swipe of his sword, she felt he was challenging her.

Of course, she was also curious about Soren, who managed to kill his monster in two minutes.

But due to his B-rank class, he wasn't her competition.

"Great, then, let's meet tomorrow morning just outside the entrance."

Sylvia didn't care what she thought. She was just happy that her plan worked quite well.

She was also in need of a girlfriend in this strange academy, as her male friend turned out to be a pervert.

Sylvia separated from Aurelia and made her way toward her corner in the classroom, heading toward Evan.

Her hands fiddled with the unopened can of White Bull, while her beautiful blue eyes sparkled, showing her good mood.

"Hmm? Hey, Evan… where's Soren?"

As she approached her desk, Sylvia saw Evan sitting alone, his head lowered, drifting in thought.

"Hmm? Soren? He went to the restroo—"

Evan heard Sylvia and turned his head to reply, but his eyes suddenly locked onto the bottle in her fair hand.

For a moment, he went completely blank as he recognized what it was.

White Bull!

The same one he bought for Sylvia before.

The same one that Soren snatched away from his hand.

"Restroom? Okay, then."

Sylvia noticed his gaze fixed on the bottle and perched on her bench a little slyly.

'He must be shocked, right? Hehe…how will he react if he knew I didn't pay a single penny for it?'

She was proud of the free treat she got, practically flaunting it by placing it atop her desk.

Now, not only he, but also all the students in the classroom could see it.

Sylvia seemed quite vain.

"Umm… if you don't mind me asking, where did you get this?"

Evan, of course, saw her proud, smiling face, which made him feel even worse. Unable to resist, he lowered his voice and asked Sylvia.

"Hmm? This… oh, this is a gift from a close friend of mine."

Sylvia felt too ashamed to admit that she practically snatched it from Aurelia, so she made up a random excuse.

It wasn't like Evan was going to ask further, right?

"A close friend, huh…"

Unfortunately, she didn't know her words already caused turmoil in Evan's heart.

He felt so mad that he ground his teeth in frustration.

'So, after saying Sylvia doesn't need it, you went behind my back and gave it to her yourself. How treacherous.'

Evan couldn't be blamed. To him, Soren looked just like a friend who betrayed him.

Not to mention the strange flush of shyness on Sylvia and her dodging eyes.

That made him even madder.

'Soren, I didn't know you were like this.'

"Hmm? Oi, Soren, you are finally here."

And when he saw Sylvia waving her hand with a flustered yet shy smile as Soren entered the classroom, his heart burned with jealousy even more.

Even though he was normally a relaxed guy, he couldn't help looking at Soren unkindly.

His gaze pierced him as he waited to see how he would explain this.

Did he really think he wouldn't expose his ploy?

'Does he like her too?'
