Chapter 51 - Chapter 51 Dad

"How about we adopt Cubone?" Fuyuki couldn't help but suggest.

Anyway, their secret realm in the backyard has a lot of space; it can accommodate not only one Cubone, but even a thousand more.

"If you wish," Entei said, looking at Cubone before him, "we should ask for its opinion."

"Yes!"

Fuyuki sighed, reached out and touched Cubone's little face, then nestled in Entei's arms and fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning, when Fuyuki woke up again, Cubone was gone.

It's obvious that it ran to its mother's side.

After Fuyuki ate a simple meal, he and Entei went to the graveyard that belonged to Gara Gara.

Sure enough, Cubone was crying sadly here.

Fuyuki stepped forward, trying to comfort him:

"Okay, okay, stop crying, Cubone. Your mother probably doesn't want to see you so sad either."

"Cubo..."

Cubone looked at him with bloodshot eyes.

Fuyuki opened his arms to the little dinosaur.

Cubone immediately rushed over, hugged Fuyuki, and burst into tears again.

Fuyuki gently patted its back and said, "I've heard that after a Pokémon dies, its soul goes to the spirit world to start a new life. Maybe your mother didn't have time to go to the spirit world yet, and she's watching over you right now!"

"Cubo?" Cubone had never heard of such a thing before. It looked up, its eyes brimming with tears, at the Fuyuki.

"Of course it's true." Fuyuki nodded.

Cubone immediately turned her head and looked around, trying to find her mother.

But there was nothing.

"Our eyes cannot see the existence of the soul," Fuyuki comforted softly. "Although your mother's body has died, her soul will never disappear. The most important thing now is to let her rest in peace."

"Cubo..."

Cubone blinked, and then it saw Fuyuki conjure a shovel as if by magic. Deep-seated memories told Cubone that it should now dig a grave for its mother.

It took the shovel, dug a pit for its mother, then lifted her body and placed her in it.

Finally, fill it with soil.

In no time, a raised earthen slope appeared on the ground.

Cubone wiped away her tears.

Although it could not shake off the grief of never seeing its mother again, Cubone knew very well in its heart.

Its mother is gone; from now on, it's all alone in this world. It must strive to be strong.

"What are your plans for the future? Would you like to live with me and Entei?" Fuyuki asked.

Cubone silently shed tears of sorrow, shook its head, and refused, saying, "Cubo!"

It was unwilling to leave its mother's burial place.

To avoid worrying her companion, Cubone pushed Fuyuki's back, trying to get him away from there.

"Cubone!" Cubone said, it didn't mind leaving its own Pokémon here.

It is not afraid, because its mother is buried here.

"Okay." Fuyuki opened his mouth, leaving some food for Cubone: "Then we'll come back later."

With Cubone watching them leave, the father and son departed the cemetery.

Fuyuki was in a very low mood. He sat on Entei's back and didn't say a word the whole way, only occasionally...

Sigh.

"Fuyiki!"

Just then, a familiar voice called out from behind.

When Fuyuki turned around, he saw a familiar Pokémon flying towards him from behind.

"Is that Butterfree?" Fuyuki looked at Butterfree.

This Butterfree used to often watch him and Cubone play in the forest, but later Wintertree took the initiative to approach it.

They extended an invitation, and Butterfree joined them.

Perhaps because they had played together, Butterfree and Calagra had a fairly good relationship.

"Are you also worried about Cubone?" Fuyuki asked.

"Fu-i!" Butterfree nodded gently.

It followed the Fuyuki and Entei back home.

Along the way, Fuyuki offered some simple words of comfort to Butterfree, telling it not to worry too much, and that Cubone would definitely be able to walk.

Perhaps that's when it will evolve into Marowak.

Perhaps because she had lived on this land for so long, Butterfree was not too hard to accept birth, aging, sickness and death.

Every life in this world has an end; it's just a matter of time.

It slowly sighed for Cubone, and then turned its gaze to the strange father-son duo.

When everyone in the forest heard the news that Entei had adopted a human child, they were all astonished!

However, after all this time, Butterfree has never heard Fuyuki call Entei "Dad."

It seems that every time...

Call it by its name.

This puzzled Butterfree greatly.

Pokémon are very simple creatures, and out of curiosity, Butterfree asked directly.

"Fu-yi?" (Fuyuki, why don't you call Entei "Papa"?)

Upon hearing this, both Fuyuki and Entei were slightly taken aback.

He looked at Entei, and Entei was also looking at him, seemingly waiting for his answer.

Fuyuki: "..."

Why?

If it were a real child, they might have called Entei "father" much earlier.

However, as an adult, in Fuyuki's mind, he once had his own father, so it's difficult for him to go back to...

Use those two words to address someone else, to refer to a Pokémon.

He has never been willing to admit it, nor has he ever called himself Entei.

Since Entei didn't ask, he naturally wouldn't bring it up on his own initiative.

However, what Entei did for him had already transcended everything, transcending the difference between a Pokémon and an ordinary person.

relationship between classes.

Now that Butterfree has pointed it out, it seems that he can no longer avoid this problem between him and Entei.

At this moment, looking at Entei's majestic yet slightly expectant gaze, Fuyuki couldn't help but open his mouth.

Entei treated him so well; if he didn't call out, Entei would probably be very sad and disappointed.

Moreover, after the Marowak incident, Fuyuki suddenly realized that if some things weren't said, perhaps they would become...

No chance again.

What else is there for him to be conflicted about?

Thinking of this, Fuyuki suddenly felt relieved.

Meeting the silent yet expectant gaze of Entei, he turned to look at Butterfree and said:

"Because Entei was originally my father! Don't you think so, Dad?"

Fuyuki then turned to look at Entei.

Upon hearing this title, Entei froze on the spot.

It stared at all in disbelief, muttering to itself, "Little one..."

The little one is calling it "Dad"!

After a brief moment of stunned silence, the old father was overjoyed.

"Fu Yi!!

Butterfree suddenly realized, "So Fuyuki calls Entei 'Papa'!"
