Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 : Nelia

Their beginning always began with a simple yet painful question, "Do we know each other ? " but the ending was always different, sometimes happy, most times sad, but altogether the experience she had wasn't too painful, just unforgettable.

Nelia opened her eyes, staring blankly at the ceiling, collecting her thoughts. Time seemed to move too slowly these days, and it wasn't something she enjoyed at all. 'Is it another morning yet ? ' she asked herself, but got no reply, just silence.

The room was dark and had curtains that were thick enough to prevent light from making its way into the room, so she had no way of knowing what time of the day they were without moving them out of the way, but today she was too lazy or maybe lacked the strength to do so.

It took her a little while to will her body to move out of her bed. The ground was warm, granted by the house heating system, and it was one of the many things that she secretly enjoyed in the house, and soon she found her way downstairs, where she met nothing but silence and a not held by a stamp magnet.

'We left to get a few things from the forest below, and it might take a while, so don't leave the house, and if you are bored, you can use the training room in the basement until we come back.'

Seeing this she knew that it was going to be a really long while she was going to see her grandparents again, a ' while ' was usually two weeks plus if used in proper time, but she wasn't bothered it wasn't like it was the first time she was going to be left alone in this prison like cottage she had gotten accustomed to it so much that it barely bothered her anymore.

Looking through the window she finally seemed to understand why her grandparents wanted her to remain indoors, there was a huge snow storm sweeping any and everything in its path, her grandparents could brave t but it would be suicidal her to attempt it at her current strength she looked at the sky and could see the numerous floating arrays which were meant to protect the house from the storm and conceal it from the horrors of the mountains and none other not even a defense mechanism.

Nalia gave a calm sigh, walked to the kitchen, using the large provisions she was provided with, and whipped up something good enough for her to eat. The aroma was there, but every bite was empty and weak, only there to fill her stomach. If she had her way, she wouldn't even bother, but nature wasn't going to play favorites.

She cleaned up before heading to the basement where she always trained, the walls bore marks that showed signs that someone had trained with a high degree of swordsmanship here but none of them were hers instead her grandfather who wanted her to learn it by heart and by soul which she did but after everything she studied they still didn't seem to be any bit of color to it just bland to taste.

She sat in the middle of the room with her legs crossed, entering a meditative state. Today, she wasn't going to be training in any of the sword art her grandfather preached or the spells her grandmother taught her; no, she wanted to look, think, and free her mind once more and look back, deep, and remember the things she was forgetting.

But the more she tried the more she tried the more she heard that same voice crumbling all the concentration that she accumulated, she hadn't been able to forget him even after arriving in this world fourteen years ago, from when she could think again they wasn't a day she didn't recall things about him, she was obsessed with him and needed to see him again ' but he isn't here ' she wanted to tell herself that lie to calm her mind but she had a hunch he was somewhere in this world.

His calm but sometimes arrogant tone, most times insufferable and never wanting to admit defeat always falling for her schemes but slippery enough to escape her grip usually in the nick of time, always having a backup plan and most of all a trouble magnet who loved getting into adventures that he didn't plan for that was the idiot that she always fell in love with and the one who naturally was her end the kind of end she never wanted.

But not anymore, she wanted this life to be different from the rest that she lived, she didn't need strength and power to do so she need to live a life where she wouldn't meet him but it was close to impossible for that to happen since they would always find their together, they was a once instance that she never wanted to remember as it was so harrowing for anyone to go through.

Taking a deep breath, she gathered all the essence she could into her body, then, expelling it out not too forcefully but enough for the air around her to be forced away, she continued her breathing exercise to expel the thoughts she had of him. Her grandma taught her that breathing technique that allowed her to gather and absorb mana properly, so she could use it to saturate her body before her first trial.

' I really miss you, don't I? 'She was conflicted and her concentration crumbled again, but she didn't mind, just got herself ready to start again, she had a lot of time on her hands at the moment, it's not like she had something even doing.

She attempted again, this time with all her willpower.

"Why is it you of all people? " Ash asked, a bit annoyed with his present predicament, standing before him was the girl who happened to be the one who had interrupted his lunch, and now she seemed to be the person who volunteered to be his instructor since Captain Kurt refused.

"Quite nice to meet you again, the name is Lily ..... what's yours? "
