The gold shimmering object covered in dust and decayed crusty guts stares at me, and I stare right back at it — stunned and speechless for a whole minute before I remember to blink and then exhale the hot air trapped in my lungs.
I didn't think I'd actually find it.
I mean… I did… it's the whole point behind risking everything to come out here and journeying down a suspicious underground tunnel despite my every instinct screaming at me to turn around and run.
Still, hoping to see it here is a whole lot different from actually finding it and having it within my grasp.
And once the disbelief and awe sort of wears off, I'm faced with the implications of what it means.
The mysterious person is actually helping me.
Why?
What does this mean… for Azrael and I?
What do I do now?
I have no time to think — not while I'm still lost and my only way out seems impossible to escape from.
