Chapter 14 - Beyond the Agreement

As soon as Basil killed Serena, Hamza and Travis woke from their dreams and returned to consciousness.

They all realized that they had survived a great danger thanks to Zires's intelligence and Basil's courage.

After Basil killed Serena, and the glove he was wearing transformed into a sharp claw, Hamza looked at Basil in amazement and said, "How were you able to turn the glove into a claw?"

Basil smiled and replied, "This glove is equipped with a movable bracelet that carries three carved symbols. When the bracelet automatically wraps around when needed, the shape of the glove changes into a claw, a shield, or a hook. When the bracelet is pulled back, the glove generates additional propulsion power that increases the force of the strike."

When Basil finished explaining the glove, they prepared to leave and set off on their way toward the Asuran Tribe.

As they were heading there, in another place amid the raging sea, a huge ship swayed upon the waves.

On its deck stood a man named James Wick, a middle-aged man with a sharp gaze and stern features, wearing clothes that highlighted his status as a leader.

He was speaking with Julens, who stood before him wearing a black robe, his bulging eyes motionless in the darkness.

James Wick said in a serious tone, "We agreed on three bags of gold in exchange for killing the monster, Ajil."

Julens smiled a fake smile and replied, "I faced some trouble during my fight with the monster. Prices go up under such circumstances."

James Wick became angry and ordered the soldiers who were standing around him to open fire on him!

However, Julens showed no fear at all. In the blink of an eye, he drew a card from his pocket, then hurled it at the soldiers with lightning speed, striking them precisely and knocking them down one by one.

Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, Julens appeared in front of James Wick, his eyes carrying a threatening look, and said in a menacing tone, "Don't mess with me. You don't know me well yet."

James Wick stepped back in fear and replied in a trembling voice, "Take a whole chest of gold and spare me."

Julens laughed mockingly and took the chest, then disappeared into the darkness as he had come, leaving James Wick gasping for breath, realizing that he had dealt with a force far greater than he could control.

Meanwhile, after crossing the river, Basil, Hamza, and Travis arrived at the Asuran Tribe.

Upon their arrival, the people of the tribe did not welcome them warmly. On the contrary, the men of the tribe stood with their weapons raised, expressing clear anger and concern. The atmosphere was charged with tension.

Basil stepped forward to address the chief of the tribe and said, "Chief of the Asuran Tribe, the Loran Tribe is in dire need of your help. We must unite our forces to face an enemy of great strength and danger."

The chief looked at them with a sharp and angry gaze and asked harshly, "Why did you kill the monster?"

Travis stepped forward and said seriously, "We were not the ones who did it. There was someone named Julens who appeared suddenly and killed the monster, and before he left, he left a message telling the people of the island to prepare for war, and then he said that a fleet of ships would come to invade the island."

The chief said with restrained anger, "Now I understand why the monster was killed. It is true that the monster terrified the people and prevented us from leaving the island, but it was guarding the island and protecting it from enemies outside. With its death, the island has become vulnerable to attack."

While they were talking, a man from the Asuran Tribe came running to the chief, panting, and said, "A group of ships has arrived at the Loran Tribe."

Travis felt great worry for Capilla, who was from the Loran Tribe, and decided to go quickly to make sure she was safe. He rushed toward the Loran Tribe, his heart pounding hard with fear of what he might find there.

Hamza and Basil noticed his tension and ran after him, calling out, "Wait, Travis!"
