Chapter 12 - Chapter 12-13. Respective Preparations

To overturn the current Jujutsu world, the first human they had to deal with was Gojo Satoru.

To defeat Gojo Satoru, Kenjaku proposed two options:

First, the Special Grade Cursed Object, the Prison Realm.

Second, liberating the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna.

And now, Mahito proposed a third option.

"Half-Cursed Spirit," Mahito said.

This was already the second week of Kenjaku teaching Mahito.

During these two weeks, Uraume had to break his traditional perceptions again and again, confirming that the Cursed Spirit before him was indeed the most unique Cursed Spirit in the history of the Jujutsu world.

It wasn't something simple like strength or weakness, but rather Mahito's way of thinking.

No matter how much Kenjaku didn't want to admit it, he had to recognize that Mahito's perception of this world was akin to a god's.

For example, right now, he was talking eloquently to Kenjaku, Jogo, and Hanami:

"Thanks to Teacher Kenjaku's efforts, I have completely understood the difference between humans and Cursed Spirits."

"Of course, it's not the simple logic that humans have a physical body and survive based on it, while we Cursed Spirits are manifestations of Curses formed by gathered Cursed Energy."

"It's about their deeper, respective forms of existence."

He held up a finger and said proudly:

"I can say with certainty that our existence as Cursed Spirits is undoubtedly superior to humans."

"The reason is simple: humans must grow through eating and sleeping, and must detoxify through excretion and metabolism."

"We Cursed Spirits, as long as we aren't killed by an equivalent force, are practically immortal."

"This alone proves our Life Rank is above humans."

The corners of Jogo's mouth couldn't stop curling upward:

"Of course. If anything, we are the true humans."

Kenjaku didn't listen to Jogo's self-praise at all; he was seriously listening to Mahito's next key point.

Sure enough, Mahito ignored Jogo's words and sighed heavily:

"But, this is only 'half'."

Hanami let out a questioning sound.

Mahito slowly exhaled, as if venting the frustration in his heart.

He said: "We Cursed Spirits, judging by our life form, are incomplete."

Yes, exactly.

This was what made Kenjaku feel terrified of Mahito.

He was too rational, and his vision was too high.

Let alone a Cursed Spirit, even as a thousand-year-old Curse User, Kenjaku hadn't realized the difference between 'form of existence' and 'life form' during these thousand years.

Before this, although Jogo claimed Cursed Spirits were the true humans, Kenjaku had scoffed at it, only enduring it because Jogo was a strong ally he had recruited.

But Mahito was different.

He truly realized the difference between the two and had even summarized the distinctions within two weeks, to the point of forming a preliminary theory.

Uraume thought with a shudder that perhaps even without him, as time passed and as long as Mahito didn't die in an accident, this special Cursed Spirit would surely ascend to a divine throne and look down upon the mortal world.

The Yin and Yang of this world are balanced.

The stronger the Sorcerers become, the more the Curses will rise accordingly.

With Ryomen Sukuna awakening in the modern era, with Tengen about to ascend to godhood, with the birth and growth of Gojo Satoru, and even his own continuous actions as a thousand-year Curse User, the Jujutsu Sorcerers of this world have seen a massive rise.

And on the side of Curses, after brainlessly accumulating in numbers, they have finally welcomed the true King of Cursed Spirits.

Mahito was born a month and a half ago.

Literally—a candidate for godhood.

Both in terms of thought and ability.

"We Cursed Spirits are not complete lives."

"Our most fatal flaw lies in being one-dimensional."

Mahito pointed a finger at Jogo.

"For example, Jogo, let me ask you: can you break through your identity as an Earth Curse and transform your ability into ice, flowing water, or a storm?"

Jogo was stunned.

"How... how is that possible? I am the Curse of the Earth!"

Mahito said calmly: "But humans can."

Jogo's eyes widened.

"Mahito, have you gone senile learning from Kenjaku..."

"Humans indeed can."

Kenjaku took a deep breath to suppress his secret shock, trying to keep his emotions calm as he spoke slowly:

"Among the group of Jujutsu Sorcerers, there is a very high-level technique called the Reverse Cursed Technique."

"Sorcerers can, based on their respective Innate Techniques, through multiplying negative energy..."

The theory of Positive Energy involves reversing one's Innate Technique into an attribute that is its complete opposite.

Jogo looked back at Kenjaku and said in disbelief, "Reversing... one's own innate... ability?"

Mahito held his arm and said calmly:

"Jogo, this is why I say our life form as Cursed Spirits is incomplete."

"We are Curses formed from the negative emotions emitted by humans in their daily lives, which undoubtedly places our form of existence above that of humans."

"But on the other hand, precisely because we are Curses formed from human negative emotions, we cannot escape the shadow of the Curse and are forced to live and act only as Curses."

"Except for Hanami, we cannot even restrain our murderous impulses toward humans!"

"Even Hanami inherits the mindset of a Curse, naturally thinking of killing humans as a way to save nature."

"As the name implies, we are Curses, and only Curses."

"But humans are different."

"As Jogo said, the base color of humanity is lies and deception, yet they are able to overcome, and even conquer, this..."

"...pitch-black reality, building a new society with unity and order."

"They can even endure the basic instincts of eating and sleeping; people who choose to go on hunger strikes or die from exhaustion due to lack of sleep are not uncommon in this society!"

Mahito turned to Jogo and looked at him seriously.

"Jogo, can you go your entire life without harming a single person?"

Jogo wanted to say 'of course,' but as the words were about to leave his throat, a massive panic suddenly surged.

His mind played back moments of harming others—crowds burned to death, scorched skin, and the wailing silhouettes in the flames.

Just thinking about being completely cut off from these things from this moment forward made him tremble uncontrollably with fear.

He couldn't do it!

He couldn't stop killing; he couldn't stop burning people.

Because he was the Curse of the Earth!

Mahito saw Jogo opening his mouth to speak but unable to find the words, and nodded gently.

"There's no need to feel terrified, Jogo."

He closed his eyes and sighed slightly.

"Because, I can't do it either."

Jogo looked at Mahito in shock.

"You... Mahito, you too..."
