Felicia's voice softened beside me, carrying a careful warmth. "Anastasia, it's not a big deal. It's normal for an Alpha to dine with someone under his command. They could even be related."
I let out a small smile, steadying myself before answering. "They're not related. Aliona's father was close to Elliot's father." My tone was calm, almost indifferent, as if I were explaining something trivial.
Felicia hesitated, clearly unsure what else to say. The tension faded into silence before she finally muttered, "Let's just eat."
I nodded and picked up my fork again, forcing myself to focus on the food in front of me. Outwardly, I looked unaffected, composed, untouched by what I had just seen. And maybe, in a way, I believed it myself.
Elliot's choices had nothing to do with me.
He could claim whoever he wanted, mark whoever he chose.
It wasn't my concern.
