It was the middle of winter.
The city streets were quiet as the hum of insects could be heard layered over the buzz of fireflies held in lamps that stood over the streets of Cidalia.
As the mornings turned to night there sat alone in an empty alley was Valeus Shephard.
After spending the little money he had on him.
He was sent straight down to homelessness.
He starved and freezed while feeling nothing but absolute hatred for the entire kingdom and his own family.
He began searching desperately for food, even going as far as stealing to survive.
Eventually he would get caught and beaten half to death by bandits who found him in their territory, his body was broken, his mind was a mess and his spirit shattered.
He couldn't even fight back because he was too weak from a lack of food and shelter.
There he lay on the cold snowy floor dyed red in his own blood as his consciousness began fading away.
Then suddenly memories of his future, his future self would play out showing how he survived this current predicament.
Through being saved by a wandering passerby who healed him with necromancy magic but then blackmailed him into becoming a guinea pig of a secret organization of black magic criminals.
He eventually joined Cidalia's most famous academy as a sleeper agent, he would eventually encounter the academy's ace, Mikhaela Sondar once again adn then attempt to fight him, once again.
Mikhaela Sondar had gained extra powers and even a form that greatly increased his power but even so the battle was still rough and grueling.
They both used everything they had ending with Valeus losing and landing on his back once again.
Somehow even though he never improved in combat ability or was experimented on yet at the evil organization he was still able to avoid serious injuries and being knocked out while giving Mikhaela a good fight.
His academy life would be filled with him antagonizing the students in secret, constantly fighting the schools ace Mikhaela Sondar and his friends and losing every single time.
He would also start most of the horrible events at the school, like a terrorist attack on the school's celebratory banquet.
Gathering students to do his bidding by promising them powerful black magic in return.
Getting students to bully other students.
And continuously making himself the center of attention in order to distract everyone from the evil organization hidden behind the scenes.
And yes their name is actually the evil organization. He would do all of this as ordered by them or else he would be killed.
He didn't enjoy nor hate doing this, he just didn't care anymore.
He eventually did a crazy event all on his own with him creating his own group within the school filled with commoners that killed tyrannical nobles.
This eventually led to creation of the commoner revolutionaries which he was heavily reprimanded by the evil organization for aiding in its creation.
They told him that it wasn't listed in the plan and therefore made it so that the evil organization had to replan everything,
pissing them off since it meant redoing months worth of paperwork.
Values didn't care but he did get tortured for hours on end for this when he was brought back to the organization during summer break.
He would eventually disappear completely from academy life sent to a lab where he would be constantly experimented on until he turned into a human and zjaveoruinsht hybrid a homunculi.
He would be granted weapons and armor that the organization got from the demons that lived in the rift.
And still after all of this Valeus still didn't care until he would be killed in Fofallishiar Iflin for a couple minutes leaving his body to be controlled by a random wildlife spirit.
What they didnt know though was that even though he was killed because he was a homunculi, when the spirit revived his body his consciousness came back but he wasn't in control anymore.
He watched as his bodies new host was groomed and brainwashed to become the perfect soldier and weapon.
He watched as his body committed countless atrocities until eventually he would be killed completely by the hero Mikhaela Sondar and his party on their way to kill the demon lord.
It was truly a pathetic existence…
