Chapter 71 - Genjutsu

From Brindy's point of view—

The moment his big brother Kambaccino closed in on Jin, his fist smashed mercilessly into Jin's body, sending him flying!

"Whoosh—!"

BOOM!!

Jin slammed hard into a distant iceberg.

"Pff!"

Blood sprayed from his mouth as his body slid down the ice and plunged straight into the sea below.

"Hahahaha!" Kambaccino laughed loudly.

"Ninja—did you see that?! This is the power of our brothers!"

"That's right!" Brindy laughed as well.

"When the two of us work together, we're absolutely invincible!"

Because they were twins, the two were born with a special magnetic force—

able to attract or repel one another at will.

Just now, Brindy had used repulsive force to forcibly accelerate Kambaccino's speed again, blasting Jin straight into the sea.

That was—

in their perspective.

But from the Straw Hat Pirates' point of view…

Kambaccino suddenly appeared and threw a punch at Jin, who was standing on the deck.

Yet Jin was far faster than him.

He vanished in an instant, dodged cleanly, then whipped his leg around—

Bang!

A brutal roundhouse kick smashed into Kambaccino's side, sending him flying straight into Brindy.

The two crashed together and tumbled onto the deck of the Thousand Sunny.

But instead of crying out in pain—

they jumped back up laughing wildly, shouting nonsense no one could understand.

They looked completely insane.

"…Are these two sick?" Franky twitched at the corner of his mouth.

"Probably Jin's doing," Sanji said, glancing at him.

The man had illusion abilities—

these two were clearly trapped in genjutsu.

"So you're the so-called bounty hunters?"

"And twins, too."

Franky looked at them in surprise.

Twin brothers were actually pretty rare.

"That's right!" Brindy sneered.

"We are the strongest brother duo of the Aokino Family—second only to our father!"

"Pirates, your end has come!"

"The ninja has already been punched into the sea," Kambaccino said coldly.

"You can no longer escape."

"Surrender now."

"…Punched into the sea?"

Usopp glanced at the two brothers, then at Jin standing nearby.

This felt… extremely awkward.

"What's going on?!"

Luffy and Chopper ran out from the other ship's cabin, shouting toward the Sunny.

"Hey! Are you guys okay?!"

"We're fine, Luffy," Jin replied calmly.

"The bounty hunters just showed up."

"What?!"

Luffy looked surprised.

He didn't expect them to actually come chasing after them.

"Luffy, hurry and help them!"

"But what about you guys here?"

Luffy looked at Chopper.

Leaving their ship doctor alone made him uneasy.

These people already had a bad track record—he couldn't fully trust them.

"I'm fine," Jin said.

Luffy hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

"I'll go check."

Grabbing the bow, Luffy launched himself back onto the Thousand Sunny, landing beside Robin.

"Robin, where are the enemies?"

"There," she said, pointing.

Luffy followed her gaze—

and instantly froze.

"Cl–clone jutsu?!!"

"Hey, Jin, look!" Luffy shouted excitedly.

"There are ninjas here too!!"

Jin: ...

For a moment, he truly didn't know what to say.

These were obviously twins.

The clothes were even different, damn it!

"You're Straw Hat, aren't you?" Kambaccino said coldly.

"We'll be taking your head."

But Luffy completely ignored him, still yelling at Jin.

"Jin! It's a ninja! A real ninja!"

Jin refused to respond.

Cold-face JPG.

Kambaccino: ???

"Bastard! Are you looking down on us?!" Brindy roared.

"That ninja of yours has already been beaten into the sea!"

Luffy froze.

Brindy thought he'd scared him and grinned smugly.

"Now you know fear—"

"What are you talking about?" Luffy said while picking his nose.

"Jin's right there."

He was standing not far from Franky.

Did these guys seriously not see him?

Or did all ninjas besides Jin have bad eyesight?

Following Luffy's gaze, Brindy still saw nothing—

only Franky standing there.

"Heh. Still trying to trick us," Brindy sneered.

"Such lies are meaningless."

Luffy: ???

Luffy scratched his head, completely confused.

"Luffy, they're under genjutsu," little Merry said with a giggle.

"Gen… what?"

Luffy blinked.

He had no idea what that was.

"Nami sighed.

"Did you even listen when Jin explained his abilities back in Water 7…"

He'd clearly talked about illusions back then.

Or maybe—

with Luffy's brain capacity, he just couldn't understand it at all.

"Whatever."

Luffy jumped in front of Brindy.

"You're the bounty hunter, right?"

"Since you attacked us—are you prepared for what comes next?"

"Hmph. With just you?" Kambaccino sneered.

"I can tell from that ninja alone how inflated your bounties are."

"I don't know what the Marines were thinking, giving trash like you such high rewards."

"But… that just makes things easier for us. Hahahaha!"

"That's right!" Brindy laughed loudly.

"Such a good opportunity—we won't let it slip!"

"Straw Hat, your head belongs to us!"

"Huh?!"

"Brothers?" Luffy stared in shock.

"Not clones?!"

"Bastard! Where did you get the idea we're clones?!" Brindy shouted.

Any normal person could tell they were twins!

Was this guy mocking them?!

"Brindy, take him down!"

"Yes, big brother!"

The two instantly snapped together—

then blasted apart again under repulsive force.

Propelled by that force, Brindy shot toward Luffy and slammed a punch into him.

"Whoosh—!"

Bang!

Caught off guard, Luffy was sent flying straight into the wall of the ship's cabin.

"What just happened?" Sanji frowned.

"They stuck together—and then split apart?"

"Devil Fruit users…?"

"No," Brindy sneered.

"We're not Devil Fruit users."

"As twins, we were born with the power of attraction and repulsion."

"To be precise—magnetism," Kambaccino added.

They even demonstrated it proudly, showing attraction and repulsion back and forth—

then burst into arrogant laughter, as if their ability were invincible.

"Robin, what are they saying?" Merry asked, looking up.

"It's fine," Robin replied calmly.

"Just think of them as… a bit stupid."

"Oh…"

Merry looked at the two brothers with pity.

"They're so pitiful…"

"You made them talk, didn't you?" Usopp looked at Jin.

Jin: ...

"No," he said honestly.

"I overestimated them."

He had only made them see what they wanted to see.

What he didn't expect—

was that they would voluntarily explain their entire ability in detail.

Like they were afraid the enemy wouldn't understand.

Jin's expression became extremely complicated.

These idiots were really from a bounty hunter family?

How had they even survived until now?

"So cool! How did you do that?!" Luffy shouted excitedly.

He didn't care at all about the punch earlier—it hadn't hurt him one bit, only dirtied his clothes.

"Hmph! Because of our powerful brotherhood bond!"

"Amazing!!"

"I don't care about your brotherhood," Sanji snapped, kicking forward.

"Luffy, they're enemies—knock them down first!"

"Yeah!"

Luffy immediately joined in, attacking together with Sanji.

The brothers' ability was indeed flexible—they avoided being taken down right away.

Seeing them engaged, Jin didn't interfere.

Instead, he turned his gaze toward the dark shapes moving beneath the water.

"Ferocious penguins…"

"Watch out!"

Franky suddenly shouted and rushed behind Luffy, leaping up to block.

Clang!

A strange ice puck slammed into his arm.

Frost spread instantly, ice crystals crawling upward.

"What the hell is this?!"

Franky's face changed as he smashed his arms together, shattering the ice.

Then he looked up toward the iceberg.

"Ice…?"

"Damn it—could it be an Admiral?!" Usopp panicked.

"Are bounty hunters actually working with the Marines?!"

That ability hit everyone's nerves hard.

"No," Jin said calmly, glancing sideways.

"Those guys aren't Marines."

High on the iceberg, three figures had just revealed themselves.

"Not Marines…"

Usopp frowned.

Then how were they controlling ice?

Devil Fruits?

Or—like the twins—some kind of innate ability?

"You bastard!" Franky roared at Hawkru.

"You dare sneak attack—prepare yourself!"

Hawkru didn't answer.

He stared at Jin in disbelief.

"You… why are you unharmed…"

"Surprised?" Jin lifted his head and grinned.

"Even Marine Vice Admirals couldn't kill me."

"And you thought they could knock me into the sea?"

"You're really… naïve."

Hawkru's face darkened instantly.

Only now did he realize how badly they had underestimated this crew.

This situation—

was far more dangerous than expected.

"Kambaccino! Brindy!" he shouted.

"Retreat—now!"
