"Ughhh…you're sitting right beside the window Timmy, why did you have to barf on the newbie," groaned Matt.
Timothy still had that ghastly sick pale look and his skin and palms got soaked with perspiration.
Matt felt helpless as the older brother while he gently patted Timmy's back and watched him let it all out of his system.
The bus steps were now gross and messy, with the air conditioner on the smell would definitely circulate.
It sucked that they hadn't even reached Camp Infinity yet and they had already made the worst impression for themselves.
Matt knew that Timmy got carsick easily and should have known it wouldn't be any different on a bus trip.
He should have made him skip the extra snacks and forced Timmy to take the pills for motion sickness.
Still, Matt thought to himself, the new kid's reflexes were pretty impressive
The way he sidestepped the vomit made Matt hope they end up in the same bunk he could make use of those sick skills.
"Come on Matt, I didn't do it deliberately," cried Timothy.
As he used the lower end of his tee to wipe the remaining traces of vomit from the corner of his mouth.
"I told you not to eat so much and we still have a few more miles to go before we reach Camp infinity," added Matt.
"Knock it off," complained Timmy, looking teary eyed with guilt.
Matt said tersely, "go and apologize to the new kid."
He would be the one cleaning the bus later all thanks to his gluttonous younger brother so Matt was not amused.
"I'm sorry," said Timmy apologetically he was clearly the youngest on the bus and easily cowed by his older brother. "I'm Timmy, let me clean your shoes for you later."
Some of the green puke had splattered onto Axis' formerly clean black air force ones.
Axis immediately thought about his younger brother Gio that disappeared and felt a lump in his throat.
After Timmy apologized Matt affectionately patted and ruffled Timothy's hair and the brothers seemed even more close and affectionate than Axis previously thought.
Instantly he felt glum, seeing Timmy made him miss Gio even more his hands trembled.
A very bad sign that he needed to get control of himself before the others saw him as a wet blanket.
"No need, these sneakers are old and will be thrown away soon anyways."
Axis sighed, "don't be too hard on your baby bro. Luckily I have great reflexes and managed to avoid the majority of it or one of you would be paying for my dry cleaning.
He looked down at his favorite scruffy black kicks that he begged his father for on his fifteenth birthday.
Too bad he would be spending his next birthday at this nowhere camp with a bunch of strangers.
Axis decided to sit as far away from the brothers before Timmy could decide to go for another bout of nausea.
"Everyone back in your seats and be quiet," grumbled the driver.
His back was turned to them but Axis could feel the driver's irritable glare from the rear view window even though he couldn't see his face.
Feeling irked, with a bit of nervousness akin to starting a new school Axis felt waves of anxiety glowing through his body.
As he made his way searching for an empty seat he could feel all eyes on him as he moved through the rows
Everyone else on the bus was eerily silent, there was a sense of familiarity amongst the other patrons on the bus.
As if they already knew each other from neighboring schools and he was the odd one out.
Now the bus felt narrow and confined.
Axis had no choice but to keep still when his entire nerve racked body was screaming to jump off the bus at the next stop.
His dad promised him driving lessons when turned sixteen if he stayed out of trouble.
So Axis kept quiet and made up his mind to plunk his gear down in the next available seat before joining his belongings.
Axis hadn't packed much except for clothes since Camp Infinity was supposed to be an excellent state of the art camp.
Shivers ran down his spine as Axis clutched his black backpack tighter and made his way down the aisle.
Axis knew he was tall, good looking, with short blonde hair and dark brown eyes.
He did very well in hockey and was expected to easily land a scholarship to any university of his choice in the future.
That's the only reason he could tolerate Viola because he had plans to live in a dorm and soon would not have to share a roof with his stepmom for much longer.
The air conditioner felt turned on to the max, he hated the cold and should have taken his sweater out of the suitcase before the driver tossed it into storage earlier.
Axis walked by a bunch of girls that giggled when he passed but strangely the one that caught his eye was sitting by herself away from the others.
Clearly ostracized by the other girls that radiated mean girl energy as they kept flicking their hair and occasionally badmouthing or snarling at the lone goddess.
"One more victim," the loner beauty mouthed before making the sign of the cross when Axis drew near to her row.
"Are you speaking to me?" asked Axis.
"It's too late for both of us," said the petite beauty filled with despair before she refused to speak further and turned bodily away from Axis.
Leaving Axis to wonder if he reeked of vomit, he sniffed his underarm and clothes, no funky smell.
How strange.
Yet cute.
He was tempted to sit beside her and politely introduce himself.
Even though Axis found her behavior confusing she looked so innocent and angelic that he felt instantly smitten.
Axis' heart was in his gaze and he looked at her adorably with puppy dog eyes hoping that she would offer to let him sit beside her but she only frowned and turned away.
Completely ignored him with a noble toss of her short, black curly hair and exotic green eyes.
Shut down before he could even open his mouth to beg for the privilege to sit next to her.
The young unnamed beauty deliberately put her bag on the seat to block him forcing Axis to move even further up the aisle and closer to the mean spirited bus driver.
