During my time at Alpha Academy, I'd watched plenty of sparring matches, but nothing came close to the savage beating I'd just witnessed. Training fights usually stopped before anyone got seriously hurt—instructors stepped in the second things went too far. What completely threw me was the Headmaster letting it continue, especially when a Princess was involved.
The whole mess got worse considering my current situation. Here I was, patching up my severed mate while my arranged bride was off somewhere with Thornevale. That particular Alpha's obvious interest in Lyra made my teeth grind. I channeled my frustration into wrapping the bandage around her injured leg, yanking it tight with more force than needed.
"Blood flow matters for healing," Lyra's cutting voice came from above me.
"Pressure stops the bleeding," I snapped back, pulling the wrap even tighter. Her sharp inhale made me glance up, meeting her furious stare.
