Ash's POV
The second I walked out of the cafeteria, someone shouted my name. I figured it was another underclassman wanting some stupid favor. Instead, I found my sister Gwen waiting for me.
With Lyra right next to her.
My gut twisted. It had been hours since our showdown in the woods, where she'd slammed her fist into my chest and sent electricity blazing through my entire body. The memory still seared under my skin. She'd walked off like nothing happened, leaving me with a million questions and no answers.
Now she stood there in those ridiculous shorts and baggy shirt, her red curls wild around her face. The sight made my blood burn. Why did my body react to such a messy excuse for a wolf?
Worse—a wolf with no wolf.
I started toward them, but before I could get close, Lyra leaned into Gwen and whispered something quick and urgent. Then she whipped around and stalked off, every step radiating annoyance. I stopped in front of my sister and let out a long breath.
