Chapter 26 - Tournament Finale (2)

"I'll make it quick since we probably don't have much time," he chuckled whilst taking deliberately slow steps towards the three in front of him.

"Ah, do you seriously think this is a good idea—"

But Klaus didn't wait for Evaline to finish her doubting sentence about his abilities.

'Mirror movement,' he disappeared from the spot like a phantom, vanishing into nothingness.

All three of the boys became alert, and even Nyra looked dumbfounded; silence stretched as he didn't appear; however, the three boys kept looking around.

"Did he run off?!"

"Where the hell is that dude!"

"He can use teleportation spells! Stay alert—"

Just then, a gentle voice broke their alerts; it was filled with respect towards Klaus.

"Ah, right, there you go, master," Jen lifted her hands up, mana channeled through her veins in an instant, getting ready to output a spell.

"Flaming Sword of the Sun," the familiar spell started materialising instantly, heat rising as a burning scent filled everyone's nose who was present.

The flaming sword was around two metres long as it floated above the three girls.

Nyra instantly felt her skin pickle whilst Evaline just smiled awkwardly, amazed at the display of technique shown by Jen.

But the sword wasn't getting launched, which is exactly what Klaus needed.

'Thanks, Flaming Dominion,' he finally reappeared behind the boys, fingers spread as the flames from Jen's attack started obeying him instantly.

They moved alongside his hands like he was a swordmaster wielding a blade that merged with him.

"No way…" Max's expression turned from shock into fear as his legs trembled uncontrollably like he was in a freezing tundra.

"He can use multiple affinity spells…" Jans was in the same situation as Max as he finished his sentence.

"Goodbye, busters," Klaus disappeared and reappeared wildly, no one being able to follow his movements as this time around, he watched his footing. Making sure it was gentle enough to not leave anything behind his movements.

Despite him disappearing, the flames didn't; the mana was able to follow him, the flames surrounding the boys slowly, who tried to escape but failed miserably.

"DO SOMETHING!" Cassian screamed at Max, who was supposed to be their defensive shield; however, he just stood motionless.

As an Ice mage, he couldn't possibly fight against such control.

'Interesting,' Klaus moved around them like a ballerina, and the flame was his dancing partner.

Both Jans and Max were frozen in place, so Cassian decided to step forward.

"FLAMEWALL!" He yelled out of the top of his lungs, as flames of his own began to rise, trying to take over and disperse Klaus's control.

A ginormous wall began to take place around the three boys, locking out the outside world completely except for the blue sky.

The fire began to spread on the grass, slowly starting to burn down the field terrain like it never existed.

Smoke emerged from multiple different areas, painting the sky dark like it was the end of the world.

Nyra, Jen, and Evaline rushed around outside the wall, trying to stop the flames from spreading.

"The spell needs to be dispersed," Jen screamed out as Klaus appeared in front of them; their pupils dilated for a second as he nodded and disappeared again.

'Let's do this, Mirror movement, Flaming Dominion,' if Cassian didn't want to let him in, then he would force himself inside.

Using the teleportation spell and his flame control, he opened a tiny slit on the flaming wall, appearing directly behind the shocked Cassian, who couldn't react in time.

'It's over, lightning arc,' lightning started vibrating in his palms as he felt a surge of mana rushing through his hands; a whip launched out of his hand, straight onto Cassian's head.

"FUC—" He tried to yell and scream; however, lightning shook his entire body, burning him and frying his brain until his mouth started foaming and he disappeared on the spot.

The wall dispersed, and so did the flames that spread; Jans and Max stood still, staring at Klaus, who slowly turned in their direction.

'Lightning arc,' The same fate happened to them as Cassian, both of their bodies shook uncontrollably as they collapsed and were eliminated.

"Well, I wanted to get that over with quicker," Klaus looked around at the damaged terrain, smoke still rising from some areas as the three girls in front of him didn't seem to be happy.

"Could have been worse," He laughed awkwardly as Evaline was burning a hole through his chest with her eyes.

"There shouldn't be many students left," Nyra said as she pulled her clothes up again, since they were still ripped in multiple pieces and slipping off.

"Right, Matthias probably eliminated the majority of the students," Evaline looked around at the empty field and didn't see anyone at all; they were near the cross sections; however, all of the terrains seemed to be empty.

"I did," The person just mentioned appeared behind them out of nowhere, sword at his waist.

All three of them jumped on guard except Klaus, who just stood still leisurely, hands in his pockets without a care in the world.

"We need to eliminate him!"

"Now!"

Both of the girls instantly started channeling their mana; however, Matthias raised his hands in a form of surrender.

"I give up," As soon as he said that, their mana stopped channeling, and their expression turned into shock.

Seeing this, Matthias let out a chuckle, "This tournament isn't THAT important to me," He looked at the four people in front of him and kept chuckling, "I can't win against all four of you at once, so I'll save myself from the embarrassment,"

He reached for his sword, which put both of the girls on guard again, especially Evaline.

'Something is fishy,' Klaus was starting to doubt his eyes.

'Record spell,' so he did an investigation; it would either work or fail.

[Record Spell available again in 40 minutes.]

'What?' He couldn't even finish his thoughts as what Matthias did next shocked all four of them, especially the spectators outside.

Lifting his sword, he stabbed himself in the throat. Blood gushed everywhere as his body began convulsing, and it disappeared, leaving the four of them on the field alone.

'Holy, that was dramatic for a kid,' Klaus chuckled from behind as he took slow steps toward the spot where he had disappeared.

A small pool of blood was present, and iron filled his nostrils from Matthias's blood.

"Is it just the three of us left?" Nyra asked the unfortunate question, finally breaking the silence between all four of them.

This wasn't a team game, even if they did team up. In the end, only one of them could be the victor.
