Mitsue entered the living room, eyeing me and Asagi strangely, as if she suspected something.
"Is there a problem? I heard loud noises while I was in my room," Mitsue asked curiously.
"Well… Mitsue, I don't know if I should be the one saying this or Jacob himself, but there's good news!" Asagi said excitedly, shaking Mitsue.
"What is it, sister?" Mitsue asked in confusion, glancing between me and Asagi for answers.
"Jacob won a gift! He won a gift from All Might! Three hundred and fifty million yen!" Asagi exclaimed as Mitsue's eyes widened in shock and she hurried over to me.
"Is it true, Jacob? T-That you won that much?!" she cried, disbelief written all over her face. I gave her a confirming nod.
"Finally! Buddha answered our prayers!" Mitsue exclaimed, wanting to hug me but stopping herself because she was carrying Anya. Still overwhelmed by the news, she instead sat down, holding Anya in one arm while covering her face with the other, crying.
What the hell? She's crying too?
I was surprised to see Mitsue break down as well. Considering how similar she was to Asagi, it wasn't entirely unexpected. I tried to comfort her, telling her to stop crying and be happy instead.
"*Sniff~* You have no idea why I'm crying, Jacob. You really have no idea," Mitsue said, still sobbing, leaving me confused.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked.
"I-It's nothing…"
"Come on, cheer up, Mitsue. This isn't the time to cry. All our suffering has finally come to an end," Asagi said, patting her gently.
Still, I couldn't tell why Mitsue kept crying. It felt like her tears were for something else entirely, but I couldn't prove it. That strange feeling lingered in my chest, as if something was about to change.
I left both women to themselves, but no matter what, I couldn't shake that uneasy feeling.
Taking Asagi's phone, I transferred some money to my own account and left the rest with her. If anything, it was safer with her.
When I glanced back at Asagi and Mitsue, I noticed Mitsue had returned to her normal self. But whenever I looked at her, she deliberately avoided my gaze every single time. That only made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
"Mom, Mitsue. Tomorrow we're going house hunting. We're buying our own place. Also, I'd appreciate it if that man never comes around to assault Mitsue again. If he does, I'll kill him and feed his corpse to monsters," I said seriously, making both Mom and Mitsue gasp.
Once again, Mitsue stared at the ground, lost in thought, saying nothing.

The next day, I woke up early. When I looked to my side, I saw Asagi lying beside me on the bed, wearing only a short red lingerie with thin shoulder straps, one strap slipping off her shoulder.
With her lying sideways, I saw her curvaceous body in a different light, her smooth porcelain skin almost glowing.
Just as I was gawking in shock, she opened one eye and flashed me a bright smile.
"Fufu, I knew you'd be surprised to see me here. Remember, I said I'd be spending more time with you lately. That includes sleeping in the same bed," she said with a giggle, slowly rising from the bed.
I was captivated by her large backside, nearly drooling as she stood in front of me, her ass only a few feet away while she tied her hair into a bun.
When she finished, she turned back to me. Her jugs jiggled slightly, and the outline of her soft belly beneath the lingerie only made her more alluring.
"Jacob, since we don't have to ration food anymore and can afford to eat whatever we want, what would you like us to make for breakfast?" Asagi asked, leaning forward slightly.
I wasn't surprised. Even back when food was scarce, she would ask my predecessor the same thing, though he usually ignored her.
"Well… I'm not really sure what I want. But I'd really appreciate some broth," I said, rubbing my chin.
"Really?!" Asagi exclaimed, climbing onto the bed and bringing her face closer to mine. "You've really changed, Jacob. I—I'm really happy," she said suddenly, her eyes welling up before she quickly stood and pretended nothing happened.
"I'll start preparing it with Mitsue," she added before leaving the room.
Sigh, she really gets emotional fast. My predecessor was a scumbag who treated Asagi terribly despite all her efforts. My sudden change must have shocked her.
I got up and gathered the necessary documents I needed to hand over to All Might. After breakfast, Mom said she wanted to step out quickly to buy groceries.
As I was getting ready to meet All Might, the door to my room suddenly opened. Mitsue stepped in, looking restless as she held Anya in her arms.
"Jacob… I have something to tell you."
