"Go down to the stream, suck up some water, and sprinkle it evenly over the spots where Asher and I scattered the grass. Go easy on it, do not wash the seeds away."
Bubbly let out two cheerful "pew pew" sounds, then hurriedly rolled down to the stream at the foot of the hill. A few minutes later, it returned, its body swollen to one and a half times its normal size, water sparkling inside. It rolled along the hillside, leaking tiny streams of water as it went, as steady as an automatic sprinkler.
Ewan watched and nodded. "Having them help out saves a terrifying amount of effort carrying water."
Asher had also just finished sowing his bag of beans. He stood up straight, rolled his shoulders, and watched Bubbly rolling back and forth. "What is the next step?"
"Now comes the... waiting step."
