And so, Ewan was dragged to the edge of the stream by Simon. He did not raise any objections. Earlier, he had already spotted a few small crabs scurrying in the stream, but simply lacked the time to catch them.

These crustaceans concealed themselves among the rocky sediment along the stream banks. Ewan recalled that back on Earth, people referred to them as rock crabs, though he had no idea if such a classification existed here. In truth, the distinction between rock crabs and field crabs lay entirely in their natural habitats. Rock crabs possessed significantly harder shells and typically hid beneath massive boulders in mountain streams, deep within the forested wilderness. Meanwhile, field crabs favored the flooded paddy fields. However, since there were no waterlogged rice paddies in this region, Ewan had no clue whether field crabs even existed on this planet. Or, for that matter, whether the crabs native to these streams could theoretically be farmed in a paddy environment.
