Chapter 362 - Chapter 362: Elara and Enzo

The room had changed.

Not in atmosphere—still warm, still filled with controlled movement and quiet urgency—but in feeling.

The first cry still echoed faintly in the background of Leah's mind.

Her son.

Their son.

And now, as she lay there exhausted against the pillows, there was a brief pause in everything.

A breath between moments.

Izana didn't move away from her.

Not even when nurses gently stepped forward to clean and tend to the newborn in the background.

His hand remained firmly wrapped around Leah's.

His thumb brushed slowly over her knuckles as if grounding her back into reality.

"You're doing well," he said quietly.

Leah let out a shaky breath, eyes half-lidded.

"We're… not done yet, are we?"

Izana shook his head slightly.

"No."

But his voice wasn't tense.

It was steady.

Anchored.

"I'm here."

Leah's grip tightened slightly at those words.

"I know…"

Another contraction built, but this time it felt different—less overwhelming than before, her body already tired, already halfway through what it needed to do.

The doctor's voice remained calm and focused from the other side.

"She's progressing well. The second twin is coming."

Izana leaned closer immediately.

"Li."

She turned her head slightly toward him.

His expression softened instantly when she looked at him.

"Stay with me," he said gently.

A pause.

Then, quieter:

"Just like before."

Leah gave a small nod.

"…Okay."

The room shifted again into motion.

But slower this time.

More controlled.

The urgency hadn't disappeared—but it had changed shape.

Izana stayed exactly where he was, his hand still locked with hers, his presence constant.

Leah's breathing became uneven again as another wave hit.

Her fingers tightened around his.

"Iz…"

"I'm here," he said immediately.

Always immediate.

Always certain.

The doctor's voice guided them steadily.

"You're doing very well, Leah. Just follow my instructions. Breathe in—good—and now push."

Leah exhaled sharply, pain flickering across her face.

Izana didn't let go.

"You're strong," he said quietly.

"You're almost there."

Leah shook her head slightly through the strain.

"I feel it…"

"I know," he replied softly.

And he did.

He always did.

Every shift in her breathing, every tremor in her hand.

He noticed it all.

Time blurred again.

The room narrowed into instructions and breath and quiet encouragement.

Then—

the doctor's tone changed slightly.

"Just a little more… I can see her now."

Leah's eyes widened slightly.

"…Her?"

Izana looked at her immediately.

But he didn't interrupt.

Didn't distract her.

Just stayed close.

The next contraction came harder.

Leah let out a strained breath.

Izana leaned closer, his voice low and steady.

"You're not alone."

"I know…"

"You're doing it."

Her grip tightened again.

"Iz…"

"I'm here."

Always.

A final push.

The room went still in that brief, suspended way it always did at the edge of something life-changing.

Leah's body trembled with effort.

Izana's hand tightened around hers in return, grounding her completely.

"I've got you," he said softly.

Then—

a cry broke through the silence.

Small.

Sharp.

Alive.

The second twin had arrived.

Leah went still for a moment, breathing heavily, tears gathering in her eyes from exhaustion more than anything else.

The doctor smiled slightly.

"It's a girl."

Silence.

Then Leah let out a breath she didn't realize she had been holding.

"…A girl…"

Izana didn't speak immediately.

His eyes shifted toward the newborn briefly.

Then back to Leah.

Something softened in his expression in a way only she ever saw.

"They're both here," he said quietly.

Leah gave a weak, tired smile.

"…We did it."

Izana corrected gently without hesitation.

"You did."

A pause.

Then softer:

"We did."

The room slowly shifted from urgency to calm.

Nurses worked quietly in the background, cleaning and wrapping the newborns carefully.

Soft blankets.

Gentle hands.

The first cries had faded into quieter sounds now—small, stable, safe.

Leah lay back slightly, exhaustion finally catching up to her fully.

Izana didn't move away.

Even as the chaos settled, even as the doctors began stepping back, he stayed beside her.

Still holding her hand.

Still present.

Still grounded.

One of the nurses approached carefully.

"She's healthy," she said softly.

"Both of them are."

Leah closed her eyes for a moment in relief.

Izana's grip on her hand loosened slightly—not leaving, just softening.

Then the nurse carefully approached with the first baby.

Wrapped in a soft blanket.

Leah's son.

Izana immediately shifted closer, his posture changing subtly as if recalibrating to something new.

The nurse hesitated only a moment before placing the baby gently into his arms.

Izana froze.

Just for a second.

Then he adjusted carefully.

Very carefully.

Like he was afraid to do it wrong.

The boy made a small sound, and Izana's expression shifted instantly—something almost unreadable passing through his eyes.

Softness.

Disbelief.

Recognition.

"…Hello," he said quietly.

Leah watched him from the bed, exhausted but smiling faintly.

"You're holding him like he's going to break," she murmured.

Izana didn't look away.

"I won't let him."

That earned a soft laugh from her.

The nurse then approached Leah with the second baby.

A girl.

Leah reached out immediately despite her exhaustion, her hands trembling slightly as she accepted her daughter.

Warm.

Small.

Alive.

Her breath caught.

"…Oh…"

Izana looked at her instantly.

And for a moment, both of them just stayed like that.

Each holding one of their children.

Together.

Then Izana moved carefully, sitting beside her on the bed so they were closer.

The twins between them.

Leah's gaze softened as she looked down at them.

Izana's eyes followed.

And then he noticed it.

The boy had dark hair—deep black like his own.

The girl shared it too.

But both of them had something else.

Eyes.

Blue.

Just like Leah.

Izana stared for a long moment.

"…They look like us."

Leah smiled softly.

"They are us."

A pause.

Then Izana looked at the boy in his arms again.

Quietly:

"…Enzo."

Leah turned her head slightly.

"Enzo?"

He nodded once.

"If you agree."

Leah studied him for a moment.

Then smiled faintly.

"…Enzo. I like it."

Izana's expression softened immediately.

Then he looked at the girl.

Leah brushed a thumb gently over her.

"Elara," she said softly.

Izana repeated it under his breath.

"…Elara."

As if confirming it to himself.

Then:

"Elara."

A quiet acceptance settled over him.

Not just names.

Identity.

The room fell into a peaceful silence after that.

The kind that only comes after something intense finally ends.

Leah leaned back slightly, exhaustion heavy in her body now.

Izana stayed beside her, still holding Enzo carefully while Elara rested against Leah.

His hand briefly returned to Leah's again, brushing her fingers gently.

"You did well," he said quietly.

Leah smiled tiredly.

"We did."

Izana corrected softly again.

"You did."

She glanced at him.

"Are you always going to say that?"

"Yes."

That made her laugh weakly.

The twins stirred slightly in their arms.

Small movements.

Soft sounds.

Alive.

Izana looked down at them again.

Then back at Leah.

Something steady settled in his expression.

"…We have three now."

Leah nodded gently.

"Yes."

A pause.

Then Izana added quietly:

"A family."

Leah closed her eyes for a moment, still smiling.

"…A family."

And in that quiet room, with snow still falling outside the mansion walls, Izana stayed exactly where he was—beside her, beside them—holding onto the beginning of something he would never let go of again.
