Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: The Saw of Light

The power of that explosion was comparable to a Tailed Beast Ball.

But the Nine-Tailed Beast was still inside Lady Mito's stomach. Surely she hadn't eaten her fill and gone to the village outskirts to fire off a Tailed Beast Ball as an after-dinner digestive aid.

If Tsunade possessed such power, the Third Hokage would never have limited her to being just a Medical Ninja.

Yet the only ones present were Tsunade and her disciple...

Ken's intuition told him this matter was likely connected to Tsunade's disciple, but his rational mind insisted it was impossible.

Regardless of who was responsible, cultivating a good relationship with Tsunade's disciple could only benefit the Uchiha.

As for the idea of eliminating the threat, it flashed briefly through Uchiha Ken's mind before vanishing without a trace.

Although the Uchiha clan's rebellion led by Uchiha Setsuna and others had made the higher-ups wary of them, Ken was still a part of Konoha.

Moreover, the current tension between the Uchiha and the village was merely a rift, not open conflict.

One path offered flowers and applause, while the other invited condemnation from all sides. He wouldn't be so foolish as to lead the Uchiha down a path of destruction.

Glancing at Fugaku standing before him, a complex emotion flickered in Uchiha Ken's eyes.

As the young heir of the Uchiha clan, Fugaku's talent met the standards, but he lacked in other areas.

Not only was he poor at assessing situations, but his indecisive and overly compassionate nature also clashed with his imposing appearance.

Uchiha Ken worried that his son might not be capable of shouldering the responsibilities of clan leader. Yet among the younger generation of the Uchiha, there was truly no one more promising than Fugaku.

With this thought, Uchiha Ken sighed softly. "To be accepted as Tsunade's disciple at such a young age, that boy must possess extraordinary qualities. You should try interacting with him."

"Yes," Fugaku nodded slightly.

Meanwhile, at the training ground, Minato's laser had significantly lowered the water level of the small lake. The surrounding grassland had turned into muddy sludge, and combined with the embankment Tsunade had previously trampled, the entire training ground resembled a site ravaged by a typhoon, utterly chaotic.

Tsunade leaped onto the remnants of the embankment, surveyed the scene, and clicked her tongue. "It seems that in terms of raw power, your teacher has nothing left to teach you."

"I've been thinking about changing my attack method," Minato suggested. "For example, turning my light into a serrated disc to enhance its cutting power. After all, my laser only deals piercing damage, which might not be suitable for all situations. I even have a name for it—Light Sawman!"

Tsunade shook her head. "The idea is good, but let's skip the name."

This kid's naming talent is seriously... uncanny.

"How about Light Wheel Cut?"

"Hmm?"

Tsunade paused, surprised that the boy had actually come up with a relatively decent name.

"Fine, let's go with Light Wheel Cut."

To prevent Minato from suggesting any more cringe-worthy names, Tsunade quickly nodded in agreement.

"Um... Teacher?"

"Yes?"

"I plan to restore the environment here, so it doesn't cause trouble for future cultivators who come to train. Could you put me down first?" Minato's voice carried a hint of awkwardness.

"Hmm?"

Tsunade looked down and realized she was still holding Minato in her arms, her ample breasts pressing firmly against the back of his head.

Tsunade smirked at Minato's flustered face. "Look at you, so small but so ambitious."

Minato's embarrassment deepened.

Seeing his reaction, Tsunade couldn't help but chuckle and set him down.

Minato quickly created three Wood Clones. The moment they materialized, they vanished in a blur, reappearing at strategic points around the lake.

Simultaneously, all four cast hand seals: "Earth Release: Earth Flow Rampart!"

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The ground trembled as the collapsed dam reformed, returning to its original shape.

Next, Minato clapped his hands together. "Wood Release Technique!"

Greenery spread across the dam's slope and the muddy shore, covering them in lush grass.

Great trees burst from the earth, encircling the lake, while the three Wood Clones transformed into trees and merged with the forest.

"Water Release: Waterfall Basin Technique!"

Minato formed another set of hand seals. The lake's surface churned, and the water level visibly rose.

Having completed everything, Minato finally let out a long sigh of relief.

First, a massive laser attack, then three terrain-altering ninjutsu... his chakra was nearly depleted.

Tsunade watched the scene, clicking her tongue in amazement. "It's like watching the Creator forge the world itself."

Minato chuckled dryly. "Teacher... I'm the one who blew this place up in the first place."

Tsunade's words weren't wrong, but hearing them from the very person responsible made it sound like hellish irony.

"It's fine. This is just a training ground, not a fish pond," Tsunade waved her hand dismissively. "From what I've seen so far, there's not much room for improvement in terms of offensive power. What about functionality? Do you have any ideas for development?"

"Let's start with color manipulation, like this..."

Minato raised his index finger, and a beam of white light suddenly erupted from its tip. The light gradually deepened in hue, cycling through the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and violet. "Normally, this ability manifests as golden light. By altering my thoughts, I can change the light's color."

Tsunade froze. "Thoughts? Not techniques? That's far too simplistic!"

Minato tilted his head, shrugging lightly. "That's just how it works."

"Wow, I wish I had that ability too."

Tsunade was genuinely envious!

No need for Chakra control techniques—just a thought and it activates. This was far more convenient than Ninjutsu, and crucially, far more powerful!

"I think I might be able to create optical illusions by altering the color of light..." Minato said, raising his hands and projecting a golden light that stained the lake surface a rich amber.

"That's a good idea," Tsunade mused, stroking her chin. "Not only could it confuse enemies, but it could also serve as camouflage. Depending on the range of the light, we might even conceal large-scale forces. However, its practical value is limited. It probably wouldn't fool a Sensor Ninja, but it's perfect for surprise attacks. So, what can you achieve with this now?"

"Let me try..."

Minato attempted to shape the light. The process wasn't difficult for him.

Guided by his imagination, a projection of Tsunade materialized on the lake surface, looking identical to her except for a slight ethereal quality.

"Not bad. You're getting close to the Clone Technique," Tsunade said thoughtfully. "Since it's progressing so smoothly, does that mean we can develop it further in this direction?"

"Yes."

"Then let's start researching from this angle!"

Seeing Minato nod, Tsunade perked up, determined to take her role as a teacher seriously.

Meanwhile, back at the Ninja Academy...

The earlier explosion had sent the students into a panic.

Only Minato's Wood Clone remained calm. After all, it was just a clone; death held no threat for it.

Moreover, the glow from the explosion had resembled the Glint-Glint Fruit's Laser Burst, likely released by his main body.

Did he encounter an enemy?

No matter. With his Elemental Transformation ability, it wasn't a problem. There was no need for a mere Wood Clone to worry.

"Quiet down!" Umino Ikkaku barked sternly. The village had contingency plans for such emergencies.

If it were an enemy attack, the Anbu should have already appeared at the academy by now.

"Resume class!"

"Ugh—"

The students groaned in unison.
