Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Disparity of the World

Sensing Minato's decisive, root-and-branch attack, Jiraiya instinctively wanted to retreat.

But if he retreated, those shuriken he'd just thrown would land right on his face...

That little brat's despicable!

Jiraiya cursed inwardly, then lunged sideways, taking a kick to the thigh in exchange for evading Minato's counterattack.

Puhahaha!!

Nearby, Tsunade couldn't help but burst out laughing at the sight.

Orochimaru's lips twitched, while Nawaki's mouth curled into a smirk. "Brother Jiraiya, you're so lame..."

"Damn it! I just let my guard down for a moment!"

Flushing red, Jiraiya forced Minato back with a sweeping kick, leveraging his adult physique to counter with his Steel Fist Style.

Tsunade scoffed coldly. "Despicable! Using your physical advantage to fight a child!"

"I'm already holding back as much as I can!"

Jiraiya's lips twitched. In truth, his Taijutsu skills made fighting Minato effortless.

The real challenge was to defeat him using comparable strength and speed, all while avoiding injury.

If Minato had been an enemy, Jiraiya would have already kicked him in the stomach with a world-class strike before he even threw his shuriken.

After blocking several of Minato's attacks, Jiraiya felt he had a good grasp of Minato's combat style. He grinned.

"Is that all?" he taunted. "If this is all you've got, it's about time to end this!"

As soon as the words left his mouth, Minato silently raised his leg. Jiraiya instinctively crossed his arms to block, but the instant Minato's calf kicked out, a blinding light erupted!

Not good!

Jiraiya sensed danger immediately. A massive force suddenly slammed into his arms, and the next moment, he was sent flying backward like a cannonball!

Such overwhelming power!

No, it was speed...

Internally stunned, Jiraiya adjusted his posture mid-air, landing on his feet and skidding backward over twenty meters before regaining his footing.

"So it is a Kekkei Genkai after all..." Orochimaru mused, observing Minato's figure. "A Bloodline Limit I've never seen before."

Beside him, Tsunade's expression turned grave. She had initially dismissed the Light Release as unremarkable, but she had just realized that Minato's kick had produced not the slightest fluctuation in chakra.

In essence, chakra is a refined form of physical energy, which includes both physical and mental energy.

The relationship between the two is simple: chakra is equivalent to physical energy, but physical energy is not equivalent to chakra.

Apart from Taijutsu, all other techniques—Ninjutsu, Kekkei Genkai, and even ordinary Bloodline Limits—require chakra to be activated. Even ordinary individuals who unconsciously awaken their Bloodline Limits instinctively convert their physical energy into chakra.

However, based on Minato's recent kick, his ability doesn't require this conversion step. Instead, it's directly powered by physical energy, eliminating any potential loss due to insufficient chakra control!

Is this truly a Kekkei Genkai?

Or some kind of special ability?

"Phew... That was close, that was close!" Jiraiya wiped his forehead, his usual arrogance momentarily set aside. "I never expected you to have such a hidden trick up your sleeve! You really gave me a scare!"

Minato rubbed his leg and hesitated to advance recklessly.

That kick had been powered by the Glint-Glint Fruit's ability, allowing him to instantly unleash the fastest kick he could physically withstand.

However, since it was his first time using this technique, he hadn't fully controlled the speed, causing considerable strain on his lower leg.

"Oho, it seems this move puts quite a strain on your body."

Noticing Minato's movements, Jiraiya gave a lecherous grin and began forming hand seals at a leisurely pace. "In that case, I'll have to use ninjutsu next, you know~"

Before he could finish the seal, Minato suddenly raised his hand, extending his index finger. A blinding light erupted from its tip.

Not this again?

Jiraiya's expression darkened as he abandoned the seal and dodged swiftly.

As expected, the moment he moved, a dazzling flash of light streaked past.

A deafening explosion followed.

Jiraiya turned back to see a fiery blast detonate behind him. A dozen sturdy trees were instantly reduced to charred stumps, leaving a massive, blackened crater in their place.

"What the hell was that?!"

Jiraiya's eyes widened in shock. Tsunade and Nawaki, who had been observing the battle from a distance, were equally stunned. Even Orochimaru's pupils trembled with disbelief.

"Such destructive power... and it was instantaneous?" Tsunade murmured, her voice hoarse. Nawaki stood frozen, his mouth agape.

An A-rank ninjutsu unleashed without hand seals, its attack so swift it defied perception...

Orochimaru's gaze was grave as he shook his head slightly. "No, there's still a charging time... though it could be due to unfamiliarity with the ability."

"Phew..."

Minato let out a soft sigh, the Laser having drained a significant amount of his physical energy. With his current reserves, he could manage only seven or eight more uses at most. Though his recovery speed, fueled by the Power of All Things, far surpassed that of others, his physical limits at this age remained fixed.

Seeing Jiraiya's stunned expression, Minato quickly apologized, "Sorry, Senior Jiraiya. I didn't realize it would be so powerful. This is actually the first time I've used this ability..."

To be honest, even Minato hadn't expected to unleash the Laser so effortlessly, as if it were second nature. He hadn't anticipated the arduous development process he'd imagined; simply releasing the condensed energy had resulted in such tremendous power!

Previously, Minato had focused his training primarily on ninjutsu, devoting most of his efforts in developing the Glint-Glint Fruit's capabilities to practical functions, such as Kizaru's Yata no Kagami.

The principle behind Yata no Kagami was to project a beam of light that could refract at any angle off surrounding surfaces, creating a path of light. The user could then transform into light and travel along this path at the speed of light.

At first glance, this seemed like overkill, since light-speed movement was already a fundamental ability of the Glint-Glint Fruit.

In reality, this ability didn't actually help Minato much. It merely transformed his light-speed movement into light-speed movement that could now make turns.

As for combat skills... it wasn't that Minato didn't want to develop them. First, the fruit's abilities were too conspicuous, and second, he genuinely didn't know how to cultivate them.

The Glint-Glint Fruit's power was simply too overwhelming!

His Taijutsu benefited from superlative speed enhancements and could even create weapons like light swords. For group battles, he had a cloning skill, with clones that operated autonomously and could reassemble after dispersing.

For ranged attacks, he had highly penetrative Lasers that, after striking, delivered a bonus round of high-temperature explosions. For large-scale devastation, he had the Yasakani no Magatama's area-of-effect cleansing...

There were no flashy mechanisms, only pure, raw power.

"This ability is a bit dangerous. It's not really suitable for sparring. Maybe we should stop here for now..." Minato rubbed his head awkwardly, his voice hesitant.

The Lasers were simply too fast. A hit to the arm or leg might be manageable, but a direct hit to the heart would be fatal. With a bit of bad luck and an ensuing explosion, even a god might struggle to save you.

"No! Let him fight with everything he's got!"

Two figures suddenly flashed into view, Tsunade and Orochimaru materializing to either side of Jiraiya.

Tsunade crossed her arms, her gaze burning with intensity as she looked at Minato. "Orochimaru and I will support you from the sidelines. Just give it your all!"

The battle was unfair to Jiraiya from the start, as its primary purpose was to test Minato's strength. Consequently, Jiraiya had been passively enduring Minato's attacks the entire time.

Originally, the three of them had assumed that, regardless of his genius, Minato's age meant he could only possess the strength of a Genin.

And Minato's earlier performance had indeed seemed unremarkable.

In terms of Taijutsu, while his strength and speed were impressive, his techniques were riddled with flaws. His timing in deploying shuriken was clever, and his combat instincts were sharp.

Overall, though he was a prodigy, he still seemed within manageable limits.

But when that laser blast detonated just now, they were horrified to realize that Minato had already acquired power capable of threatening their lives!

Moreover, Minato hadn't yet mastered this power. Leaving Jiraiya to face him alone would be irresponsible to their comrades.

Orochimaru gazed at the bewildered little blonde across from him with a complex expression.

This is a Kekkei Genkai...

A powerful Ninjutsu that even geniuses must diligently train to master, casually unleashed by a five-year-old child with a flick of his finger...

As Orochimaru silently marveled at the world's disparities, Nawaki, who had been observing the battle nearby, stood frozen in shock!

What the hell just exploded?

Was that Minato's technique?

I just fought someone like that?
