CHAPTER 3:HEART TO HEART

Having to perform on the stage of the city, after a while,he stepped off finding himself in the arms of Olivia ,the beautiful sweetened soul that makes his heart always pounding whenever he is with herm

"I love you,and I think I so much do."Olivia talked that to his ear as she lingered her mouth with her tongue rolling in the romantic sense. Her voice sweetened Melvin she whispers things in his ear, audible over the pounding of her heart. From him too, while his lips brushed against her,he whispered,"my heart pound for you, this minute, this hour and almost every day.I love you too,Olivia."Having whispered that, his eyes locked onto hers as he look deeply into that beautiful glowing eyes of hers as he always does whenever he was with her.

Olivia blushed, feeling more attracted to him, making the world around them came roaring back to life.Hearing her say that she loved him,he felt glad about that he was not the only one feeling love to her. That make him embrace her body with a tight hug and a gentle soft kiss.

As they stepped out from the venue where Melvin had performed so greatly, seeing the city welcomed them with possibilities and promises.Waliking down the road as they were strolling hand in hand, their footsteps with that beat of theirs, synced up

As time passes by for that day, they tend to shop at an Italian restaurant. While perceiving the aroma of a baked bread and simmering sauce that sent an aroma of feeling to be tasted,Melvin ordered some with bottle of wine, and they sat down at a table that faces the window side.

Conversation from them touched on everything from art, music, and their shared good food which they desire to take.More often, their conversation comes effortlessly. As she knew her soul connect and reconnect to him,she felt they would last forever in their lifetime

Night getting closed by,the restaurant getting closed while they started stacking chairs, sweeping the floor ,packing wasted material and rearranging the place for the start of tomorrow's service.Reaching out to Olivia with his fingers intertwined into hers

Both wanting to get out of the restaurant,Olivia's heart raced with anticipation. They slipped out of the restaurant into the cool night air,and into a waiting taxi.

In the riding taxi,Melvin's hand rested on her knees which sent shivers down her spine.Getting to stopped at some point of the road, they pulled up to a small bar.Music heard was soft, air felt with promise of romance, the light was in a dim state.Melvin moved close to her and held her tight under his arms, their eyes locked while they looked at each other.Melvin's lips locked on hers, wanting to have a kiss of her that would left her breathless. They kisses, one that seems to come so hot this time around, like they have mastered the art of kissing.

Two of them lost in the magic of their love.Love sweet, love romantic, love encouraging as the city around them melted away.Standing there for minutes, and holding arms together while they looked at each other,Olivia came to be aware that a soulmate has been found, her life partner in every sense of the word. The music of their heart, the beat of their soul, was all that counted.

Melvin moved closer to her as the taxi door closed behind them, his presence filling the small space with warmth and familiarity. Olivia turned slightly toward him, her eyes meeting him in the dim light filtering through the window. The city lights danced across his face, and for a moment, everything outside faded away.

"You always look at me like you're listening to my heart," Olivia said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.Melvin smiled, lifting his hand to gently cup her cheek. "Because I am," he replied. "Every beat of it."

When they arrived at the small bar, Melvin stepped out first and offered his hand to Olivia. She took it willingly, feeling that familiar spark shoot through her fingers and settle deep in her chest. Inside, the bar was intimate and calm, filled with soft music and quiet laughter. Candles flickered on wooden tables, casting golden shadows on the walls.

They found a corner seat, away from the noise, where they could talk without interruption. A gentle jazz tune played in the background, reminding Olivia of the first day they met. It felt poetic, as if their story was folding back into itself.

"Do you ever think about how strange life is?" Olivia asked, swirling her drink slowly. "How can one random moment change everything?"

Melvin nodded. "Every day. Especially since I met you."His words settled deeply into her heart. She looked at him with a softness that came only from trust. "Before you," she continued, "I was just existing. Now, I feel… alive."

Melvin reached across the table, taking her hand firmly yet gently. "You saved something in me too," he confessed. "Music used to be my only language. Now, you are."

Silence fell between them—not an awkward one, but the kind filled with understanding. Their fingers intertwined naturally, as though they had always belonged there.Later that night, as they walked back into the open air, the city greeted them with glowing streetlights and distant sirens. The cool breeze brushed against Olivia's skin, but Melvin pulled her closer, wrapping his jacket around her shoulders.

"Stay with me tonight," he said quietly, not as a demand, but as an invitation.Olivia looked up at him, her heart racing. She nodded slowly. "I want to."Back at his place, the world felt calmer, quieter. The walls echoed with music sheets and guitars resting in corners, telling stories of his passion and struggles. Olivia walked around slowly, touching the edges of his life.

"This place feels like you," she said. "Honest. Warm."Melvin watched her with admiration. "You belong here."They sat together, talking for hours—about fears, dreams, childhood memories, and moments they never shared with anyone else. Every word pulled them closer, building something deeper than attraction. As the night grew older, they lay side by side, listening to each other's breathing. Melvin gently brushed Olivia's hair away from her face.

"No matter where life takes us," he said, "promise me we'll always choose honesty."Olivia turned toward him, resting her head on his chest. "I promise," she replied. "Heart to heart."Her words sealed something unspoken between them—a bond formed not just by love, but by understanding, trust, and timing.

Outside, the city continued its endless rhythm. Inside, two hearts beat as one.

And for the first time in a long while, love felt real, steady, and alive.
