Chapter 11 - Discover the Monster Under the Full Moon

I didn't want to flee away in terror from the two monster hunters coming for us. But it wasn't the weapons I was afraid of, it was the two men in uniform. I wanted to rip out their hearts and take a bite out of their necks. And drink their blood from their beating lungs.

My monster kids and myself turned and looked up in the sky. As we watched our hairy, werewolf husband of mine, leaped off the side of the turned over town bus at the side of the street. And we watched as my hairy husband jumped off the bus. Leaped in the air, and tackled the two men in uniform, carrying their guns.

Snatching their weapons out of their grasp, Russell, my werewolf husband, took out the two silver bullets in the guns and crushed them to pieces. Then, he tossed the smashed pieces of silver bullets in hands onto the ground.

Just as the two monster hunters were about to scream and run away, Russell leaped in the air and pinned the two frightened monster hunters to the ground in the middle of the wet street. I watched as horrified as Russell took his big, furry arms and slugged the other monster hunter beside him. Who was about to grab for his shotgun next to him on the ground.

The monster next to them, dropped his shotgun again. I continued watching with dread at the look of her terror on my face. As I saw Russell take a bite out of both of the two men's neck. I put a hand over my hairy face as I watched blood gush out of the helpless two hunter's necks.

Turning to look beside Russell, and the two monster hunter's side, I saw Mark and Valentino hurry over to grab for the silver shot gun and make sure the weapon wasn't loaded. I wanted to get my two monster kids away from Russell and the other two wounded hunters who were fighting against each other.

I covered my ears and closed my eyes. As I heard Russell, my animal of a husband, howl at the bright, glowing white full moon in the sky. As dark storm clouds passed by it, casting the streets into shadows.

Hearing a gun shot, I gasped and opened my eyes. I turned to look in the direction where the gun shot was being fired. I looked at one of my kids, holding the gun. It was Mark, who held the gun in his hand and shot the two monster hunters from getting the curse of the werewolf hunters.

Moonlight splashed over us, casting us into darkness. I wanted to run away from my monster family as far away from them as possible. But I was paralyzed with fear. I couldn't move or see if everyone was going to be okay.

Then, I turned and watched my husband, Russell howl at the glowing white full moon in the night sky. He started shedding his wild, black animal fun until only his bare skin was showing. I thought he was naked, but under the glow of moonlight, I saw he wore torn blue jeans and his brown shoes had holes poking out of his toes.

Howling, I turned and watched Mark and Valentino also shedding their animal skin under the full moon. I didn't know what to do. I realized I wasn't the only one changing back into a human before them.

Russell, Mark, and Valentino, my three lovely companions, were now human again. Except me. They didn't see me watching them in the shadows in the middle of the empty, dark streets. As I watched them study what had happened with the two men hunting us.

My eyes glowed red in the darkness, and I took off running. I found myself running out of control through the dark, foggy woods. I didn't know where I was going, I just had to get some help. Somebody to help give me answers to what is happening with me and my family.

It didn't make any sense. Was everybody in Sparkle Town under a curse of the full moon, tonight? Or was this all some kind of prank gone totally wrong? Because I was still a creature of the night, my eyes were still glowing, and I could easily make things I could see in the dark. Without normal human eyes.

My hairy clawed feet crunched on dead leaves in the woods. I was hurrying myself to get as far away from the haunted little community. I stopped, finally. When I got too far into the woods. I saw and turned to look at glowing yellow warm light coming from the entrance to a cave opening.

I ducked behind some dead trees next to me. I perked up my ears with listening skills. I heard some men talking as I watched them come out of the front cave. They wore old fashioned brown clothing and wore brown-laced sandals on their feet.

I could hear them talking in low voices. The first man wearing a white beard and drinking from a small, warm coffee cup, spoke up first. "They won't get away from us in this town under a full moon curse," he said, his voice soft and meaningful.

For some reason, this made the other man in front of him chuckle. "I doubt they will get away too far from us, your majesty," said the man, folding his arms in front of his chest and seeming lost in thought.

Before the other man could speak, we all jumped as the sound of a twig snapped in the middle of the woods. It made a crackling echo throughout the spooky, night woods. Startling the two men, standing out by the cave entrance, they hurried back inside the cave.

Just as I watched them close the wooden cave door, somebody had tackled me from behind the dead tree I was hiding in. Clumsily knocking me out to the ground with a hard thud.
