Vance Global Headquarters. Los Angeles.
The atmosphere in the boardroom was one of cautious triumph. The latest episodes of The Outcast had officially established the "Ceiling" of the series: the High Priest (Marcus Thorne).
"Director, the internet has officially turned the High Priest into a 'Unit of Measurement'," Sydney said, displaying a series of viral memes on the screen. "Fans are debating how many 'High Priests' a character is worth. For example, the community has decided that a fully powered Xander is about 0.2 High Priests, while the 'Scoundrel' Asher Reed is currently sitting at a 0.05."
Leo laughed. This was exactly the kind of "Power Scaling" culture that drove long-term engagement in the genre. By creating an untouchable, god-like figure at the top of the hierarchy, every other fight in the series suddenly had context.
"It's good for the brand," Leo noted. "It creates a sense of myth. But we need to be careful not to make the gap too large, or the audience will lose interest in the other characters. That's why I'm releasing the 'Ten Challengers' list through our official social media handles tonight."
Leo's "Ten Challengers" list was a masterstroke of marketing. It wasn't an official part of the show, but a "Behind-the-Scenes" teaser from the Director himself. It listed characters like Felix Feng (with his potential spirit growth), Wang Ye (with the Rear-Wind Matrix), and even the villain Billy Thorne (if he continued to consume powerful souls).
By giving the fans a "Path to the Top," Leo was ensuring that the discussion would continue long after the season finale.
Celestial Peak Studios. Stunt Training Floor.
While the internet was busy debating power levels, Leo was on the training floor with Andrew Stone (Toji). They were preparing for the "Assassination of the Strongest" sequence.
Andrew was a mountain of a man, his muscles taut as he practiced with the "Inverted Spear of Heaven" prop. Leo had designed the weapon himself, a jagged, two-pronged blade that felt heavy and lethal.
"The key to Toji, Andrew, is that you have no 'presence'," Leo explained, circling him like a predator. "In the world of Sorcerers, everyone is looking for energy. But you? You're just a ghost made of muscle and hate. When you attack Gojo, I want it to be clinical. No wasted movement. No flashy poses. Just a butcher doing his job."
Andrew Stone nodded, his face a mask of intense concentration. He had been a martial artist for twenty years, but Leo's direction was forcing him to unlearn his "cinematic" habits and replace them with something much more visceral and terrifying.
"Director, the 'Six Eyes' logic is the only thing that can track me, right?" Andrew asked.
"Correct," Leo said. "But for this first fight, Gojo is tired. He's been active for three days straight. He's human. He's arrogant. He thinks he's safe inside the Academy's barrier. That's when you strike. I want the audience to feel the shock of the 'Invincible' hero being gutted by a man with zero magic."
As they rehearsed the high-speed choreography, the other cast members, Natalie G. and Julian Cross watched from the sidelines. They were already feeling the pressure. The Hidden Inventory movie wasn't just a sequel; it was a stylistic leap forward for the studio.
NBN Executive Suites.
CEO Maxwell Brown was reviewing the quarterly projections. The "Vance Effect" was real. NBN's stock price had stabilized for the first time in three years, and the network was now being looked at as a serious competitor to the major streaming giants.
"Vance is a gold mine," Brown's advisor noted. "But he's becoming too powerful. He's self-funding his movies, he's controlling the distribution through his own app, and he's managing his own marketing. If he decides to leave NBN, we're back in the gutter."
Maxwell Brown looked at a photo of Leo Vance on his desk. "He won't leave. Not yet. He needs our broadcast reach to maintain his 'Reputation Value'. But we need to offer him something more. Give him a seat on the creative board. Give him the keys to the kingdom. As long as he stays under the NBN umbrella, we are the kings of the industry."
Back at the studio, Leo was oblivious to the corporate maneuvering. He was standing in the center of the training floor, his silver hair reflecting the overhead lights.
He could feel the power of the Gojo card humming in his veins. The "High Priest" was the unit of measurement for The Outcast, but for the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Leo Vance was about to become the measurement for the entire world.
"Alright, Andrew," Leo said, his voice dropping into a cold, divine register. "Again. From the moment I drop the barrier. Kill me like you mean it."
The training began again. The tragedy was being perfected, one strike at a time.
