Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: The 50-Million Dollar Flex

Starlight Management, West Hollywood.

"This show is a literal burning pile of money. With these VFX, there are maybe two studios in the world, Industrial Light & Magic or Weta that could produce this. And even then, it would cost a fortune!"

Maya West was staring at the screen, her producer-brain calculating at light speed. "I estimate that the forty seconds of combat VFX for the Infinite Void alone cost at least fifty million dollars. How is this project even going to break even?"

As a CEO, Maya had greenlit several big-budget fantasy epics. But usually, the A-list actor salaries ate up 70% of the budget, leaving the special effects team to work with scraps. Seeing this level of quality on a streaming show was making her question the very laws of Hollywood economics.

"I don't care about the budget, those effects were a cinematic orgasm!" Natalie G. suddenly blurted out.

The room went dead silent. Maya, Della Rose, and Julian Cross all turned to look at her.

Natalie's face flushed red as she realized what she'd just said. "What? Why are you looking at me like that? It's an adjective! A metaphor! Don't make it weird!"

On the screen, the battle reached its conclusion.

Clang!

With Jogo's head severed, the Coffin of the Iron Mountain shattered like glass. The world returned to the moonlit highway.

"Now, tell me," Leo's Gojo said, his long leg casually stepping on Jogo's volcanic head, rolling it slightly with a hint of bored pressure. "Who ordered the hit?"

"Is this... is this the 'Strongest'?" Lucas Miller's Itadori watched from the side, his heart pounding. As living beings, we aren't even on the same level. He's playing with a monster that almost killed me.

The camera zoomed in on Gojo. He used his left hand to slightly lift the blindfold, revealing a single, piercing azure eye.

The Global Stream chat went feral:

[I have never been more jealous of a severed head in my life.]

[That one-eye reveal... Leo Vance is trying to kill us all.]

Meanwhile, on a nearby ridge, Robert Sterling's character (the "Brain" inhabiting Suguru Geto's body) watched with a mocking smile. Beside him, the plant-like Curse Spirit Hanami whispered in a strange, distorted language.

"I can't be seen by the Academy people yet," Geto said, turning to leave. "If you want to save him, be my guest. But hurry. That man is in a foul mood."

Back on the highway, Gojo increased the pressure on Jogo's head. "Let me rephrase. Who is the mastermind behind you? Tell me, and I might make it quick."

"I'm not telling you anything, you silver-haired brat!" Jogo hissed.

"Bold choice," Gojo said calmly. "I'll eliminate you either way, but I'd prefer to do it after a chat."

Before he could finish, Hanami launched a diversionary attack, trapping Itadori in a massive surge of cursed forest roots. While Gojo moved to protect his student, Hanami snatched Jogo's head and vanished into the darkness.

The scene shifted to a much-needed moment of levity.

Gojo met with Principal Gakuganji, the leader of the conservative "Higher-Ups." Gojo's tone was dripping with disrespect, treating the powerful elder like a senile antique.

Standing behind the Principal was Riley Evans, playing the blue-haired assistant, Kasumi Miwa.

"Sir, that is inappropriate speech!" Miwa said sternly, her face a mask of professional duty. "I will be forced to report this violation of protocol!"

The audience assumed she was a serious, no-nonsense character. Then, the scene cut to her internal monologue.

"OH MY GOD! IT'S HIM! IT'S ACTUAL GOJO SATORU!" Riley's Miwa had a deep blush on her face, her inner thoughts a chaotic mess of fangirl screaming. "HE'S EVEN HOTTER IN PERSON! I'M GOING TO FAINT! I NEED A PHOTO! I NEED TEN PHOTOS!"

The viewers lost it.

[Haha! She is LITERALLY me!]

[Riley Evans is my spirit animal. That face she made is exactly how I feel right now.]

[She went from 'Professional Secretary' to 'Simp' in 0.5 seconds. I love her.]

[Is that the assistant who Leo 'scammed'? No wonder she's so good at acting shy!]

The episode accelerated. After Miwa hilariously tried to sneak a selfie with Gojo, the story moved to a dark investigation in a cinema. A new villain, Mahito, and a troubled student, Junpei, appeared in a rain-slicked alley, clearly brewing a dark conspiracy.

Finally, the screen introduced the man the fans had been waiting for: Nanami Kento.

Ordered to investigate the cinema murders with Itadori, the blonde, sharp-suited sorcerer exuded an aura of weary professionalism that stood in stark contrast to Gojo's chaos.

Just as the audience leaned in, desperate to see how this new dynamic would work... the screen went black.

Episode 4 was over.

UCLA Multimedia Lab.

"No! No! No!" A collective groan of agony filled the room.

[That's it? That was like five minutes!]

[I'm going to die. I need Nanami content. Now!]

[Leo Vance is a criminal for these cliffhangers. This is emotional abuse.]

The students didn't leave. They sat in their seats, listening to the ending theme, "Jujutsu Miracle," absorbing the vibes. Then, a group of freshmen turned their hungry eyes toward the front of the room.

"Lucas! You said you'd get us those signed photos of Leo!" "Yeah! You promised! Come on, man, we know you have them!"

Lucas Miller felt a cold sweat breaking out. He'd made those promises in a moment of post-Sukuna ego. Now, looking at the dozens of students who expected him to deliver, his face was turning as pale as Gojo's hair.

He realized he was going to have to beg Leo Vance for a few hundred signatures, or he'd never be able to walk across campus safely again.
