"Yoru, does this kunai have some special ability?"
At the dining table, Kushina brought breakfast before Yoru and poured him milk before sitting across from him. Playing with the Flying Thunder God kunai in her hands, she asked curiously.
"That's right. It's a Flying Thunder God kunai."
"Flying Thunder God kunai? What's its ability?"
Having lived overseas since childhood, Kushina obviously hadn't heard this technique name.
After all, following Tobirama Senju's death, Flying Thunder God Technique—like Hashirama Senju's Wood Release—had already become legendary ability.
Eating the fried egg Kushina made in one bite, Yoru licked the egg liquid from his lips and smiled while explaining: "Its ability is simple. Just like I said, as long as you carry this kunai with you, I can instantly appear at your side. This is Space-Time ability."
"Actually legendary Space-Time?!"
Kushina finally widened her eyes, looking at the Flying Thunder God kunai incredulously: "Besides storage scrolls and Summoning Technique, there are actually jutsu that can mobilize Space-Time power? Incredible."
After carefully examining the kunai, Kushina discovered the key point and looked at Yoru questioningly: "Yoru, what's special isn't this kunai but the seal on it, right?"
"Yes. That seal is called the Flying Thunder God seal." Yoru nodded. "Like storage scrolls, this is a product of sealing technique and Space-Time. It's somewhat similar to Summoning Technique's principle—except what's summoned isn't a summoning beast but me."
"Amazing. The person who invented this technique is truly a genius." Kushina sighed slightly.
Yoru smiled: "This technique's inventor was Konoha's Second Hokage."
"Second Hokage? I remember this person... seems to have some connection with Mito-sama..." Kushina pressed her finger to her temple, appearing to think seriously.
Yoru wasn't surprised she didn't know who the Second Hokage was.
In the original Minato manga, Kushina also only vaguely remembered Hashirama Senju was Mito Uzumaki's other half.
She called him "this person" rather than "Hashirama-sama."
Clearly, she'd never heard the God of Shinobi's stories.
Seeing the girl thinking seriously yet unable to recall, Yoru couldn't help teasing: "Don't even know the God of Shinobi's younger brother, the Ninja Academy's founder? You didn't just sleep through Ninja Academy classes, did you, you idiot Tomato-na!"
"Who says I don't know! I just can't think of it right now." Kushina retorted indignantly, raising her fist threateningly. "Can't breakfast shut your mouth? Believe me, I'll punch you to death!"
SMACK!
Yoru teleported over and delivered a slap, nearly making Kushina's head crash into the table.
Kushina reacted and threw a return punch—which hit empty air.
Yoru's figure had already vanished without warning. Then humming sounded from the room.
"Fine! So this is what you meant by giving me the kunai."
Kushina ground her teeth but couldn't bear throwing away the Flying Thunder God kunai. Instead, she rushed into Yoru's room, determined to get payback.
After some playful fighting, Yoru and Kushina sat on the sofa. She proactively suggested: "Since your seal doesn't need to be attached to kunai to work, why not leave a seal on my body? That would be more secure."
"No good. Flying Thunder God seals can't be removed through conventional means. Even I can't remove them now. It'd look ugly on skin." Yoru shook his head in refusal, then as though thinking of something, his eyes suddenly flashed.
Kushina didn't notice this detail.
She actually quite liked Yoru's Flying Thunder God seal—the tomato pattern and "night" character representing their shared symbol.
If placed on her body, Kushina would only feel happy.
However, seeing Yoru so resistant, she didn't say more but prepared to add protection to this kunai for carrying.
Then Kushina changed topics: "By the way, don't you need to train today?"
"Orochimaru-sensei gave me a week off. These few days I'll rest properly."
"Really? That's great!" Kushina's eyes immediately brightened. "I've been improving my photography skills lately. How about we go out taking photos?"
"Sure. This mission I didn't have time for photos. When there's opportunity later, I'll take you traveling to photograph." Yoru smiled.
"Great! Let's leave right now."
Eyes full of anticipation, Kushina couldn't wait to pull Yoru out the door.
Over the following week, Yoru and Kushina toured all of Konoha's central district, leaving photos at every beautiful location.
However, when they prepared to leave the central district for other photo spots, two masked ANBU would always appear via Body Flicker, blocking them.
Yoru had no intention of secretly escaping Konoha to leave Flying Thunder God seals, then using Flying Thunder God Technique to bring Kushina outside Konoha.
Though this would shock Hiruzen Sarutobi and draw attention, it was meaningless.
Hiruzen would still speak with him, requesting he not bring Kushina outside Konoha.
Whether as Hiruzen Sarutobi's grand-disciple or owing the debt of the Flying Thunder God Technique independent scroll, Yoru needed to give this Third Hokage face.
Until making his reputation and ensuring no one dared ignore his will, he could only temporarily inconvenience Kushina.
During this time, the shinobi world's situation grew tense.
News of Hanzo of the Salamander going to Iron Country finally spread throughout the entire shinobi world. Supposedly he'd battled Iron Country's samurai.
Everyone worried Hanzo of the Salamander would subjugate Iron Country through force, gaining the samurai army's service, then combining Ame ninja skilled in assassination with samurai skilled in taijutsu.
If this situation truly occurred, that small place serving as three great nations' intersection would birth a massive force rivaling the Five Great Shinobi Villages.
With Hanzo of the Salamander's ambitions, he certainly wouldn't stop there. Surrounding nations would all become his targets, including great nations.
Thus Fire, Wind, and Earth Countries all tacitly strengthened border defenses.
Fortunately, in October, Iron Country issued an external statement that regardless of difficulties encountered, they would continue maintaining neutrality according to historical agreements.
And Hanzo of the Salamander seemingly didn't fly into rage, attacking Iron Country alone or leading Ame ninja armies.
Inside this, untold stories definitely existed.
With Hanzo of the Salamander's return to Amegakure, the situation seemingly restored to its original state.
Only Yoru knew—this was merely the calm before the storm.
