CHAPTER 75: THE NAME
Selene's POV
The documents from the box had been sitting in a locked drawer in the tactical room since we'd returned from Crescent territory.
Not ignored — I had read them once, thoroughly, the morning I'd found them. But reading once and understanding fully were different things, and my mother's documentation was the kind that rewarded careful re-examination. She had built it in layers, the obvious information on the surface and the implications underneath, the way someone who had learned to communicate under constant threat learned to hide the most important things in plain sight.
I went back to them the morning after.
