Ding!
[Congratulations to the host on purchasing a wife.]
Arthur's expression didn't change outwardly, but inside, he paused.
'…Now you have a sense of humor?'
[This system has been studying methods to become more likable to the host.]
Arthur blinked once, slightly caught off guard by that response.
'Wait… you can read?'
[Affirmative.]
'That's… unexpectedly useful.'
He let the matter drop for now, deciding that questioning his system's evolving personality could wait for another time.
His attention returned to the present.
Ravel stood in front of him, her posture composed but her fingers lightly fidgeting with the edge of her sleeve, betraying her nervousness. Despite everything that had just happened, there was no resentment in her expression. If anything, she seemed… relieved.
"Um… Sir Arthur… I know it might be strange to ask now, but… is it really alright for me to stay with you?"
Her voice was soft, careful, as though she feared overstepping.
Deep down, she understood her situation perfectly. As a member of the Phenex clan, she had always known that one day she would be married off for political reasons. Compared to that unknown future, ending up with someone she genuinely admired felt like a blessing she hadn't expected.
And because of that—
She wanted to do her part.
Arthur looked at her for a moment before answering, his tone easy and reassuring.
"You don't have to worry about that, Ravel. You're more than welcome in my home…"
He paused slightly, a faint smile forming.
"…Right?"
The living room door swung open.
Two figures tumbled forward immediately.
"Hello…"
Akeno was the first to recover, her usual composure slipping just enough to reveal a hint of embarrassment at being caught so obviously. Meanwhile, Rias brushed herself off as if nothing had happened, her confidence completely intact.
Arthur simply looked at them.
Unamused.
Rias, however, didn't seem the least bit concerned.
"Hehe~ Of course there's room," she said lightly, stepping forward as if she had been invited all along. "Our home is quite spacious, after all."
There was something thoughtful behind her tone, something more deliberate than her playful attitude suggested. The conversation she had with her mother the night before lingered in her mind. She understood now that with Arthur's strength and presence, more women would inevitably be drawn to him.
Instead of resisting it—
She had chosen to accept it.
And more importantly, to shape it.
If others were going to stand beside him, then she would make sure she remained irreplaceable.
Arthur, unaware of the full depth of her thoughts, simply shook his head slightly before turning back to Ravel.
"And you don't need to be so formal with me."
He reached out and gently patted her head.
The reaction was immediate.
Ravel stiffened for a split second before relaxing, her cheeks flushing faintly as a small, genuine smile appeared on her face. The simple gesture carried far more weight than she had expected, making her feel accepted in a way words alone couldn't achieve.
Rias, watching the interaction, narrowed her eyes just slightly, though there was no real hostility behind it.
"I suppose we'll need to talk to Sona about getting Ravel transferred here?"
She asked, already thinking ahead.
Ravel shook her head quickly.
"That won't be necessary. Mother has already arranged my enrollment here with the Sitri heiress."
Arthur raised an eyebrow slightly at that.
It seemed Lady Phenex had prepared for multiple outcomes.
Smart.
"Well, since that's taken care of…" Arthur said, shifting the conversation naturally, "I should properly introduce everyone."
Ravel straightened instinctively, her attention sharpening. Despite her young appearance, she was perceptive enough to understand the importance of this moment. What she was about to hear wasn't just introductions—it was a clear outline of where everyone stood.
Arthur gestured toward Akeno first.
"This is Akeno. She's my first girlfriend… at least for now."
Akeno smiled brightly at that, clearly pleased with the wording, her earlier embarrassment already forgotten.
He then turned slightly toward Rias.
"And this is Rias. She's my first fiancée… and soon, my wife."
Rias lifted her chin just a little, her expression soft but undeniably proud.
Finally, his gaze shifted toward Asia, who stood slightly behind them.
"And Asia… she's someone I care about a lot. We're not officially together yet, but…"
He didn't finish the sentence.
He didn't need to.
Ravel listened to everything carefully.
There was no confusion in her expression.
Then, rias stepped forward first, extending her hand toward ravel with a warm and composed smile that carried both confidence and sincerity.
"We've already met before, Ravel, but… I hope that from now on, we can truly get along—as Arthur's partners."
There was no hostility in her voice, no hidden sharpness—only a clear declaration of acceptance. It wasn't just a greeting; it was a quiet acknowledgment of the new bond forming between them.
Ravel looked at her hand for a brief moment before gently taking it.
"I would like that very much… Please take care of me, Rias."
Both girls smiled, their expressions bright yet meaningful, as if silently agreeing to something far more complex than simple coexistence.
Akeno approached next, her usual playful elegance returning as she introduced herself properly, her tone light but her eyes observant. Unlike Rias, she didn't say much—but the subtle curve of her lips and the way she studied Ravel made it clear she was already evaluating her place within their growing circle.
Later, when they all regrouped in the ORC room, Ravel was introduced to Asia as well. The blonde girl greeted her shyly, clearly overwhelmed but doing her best to be polite, while Ravel responded with unexpected gentleness, perhaps recognizing the same insecurity she herself had felt earlier.
---
That evening, once they returned home, Ravel was assigned her own room within the villa. It didn't take long before a butler from the Phenex household arrived, carrying several pieces of luggage that clearly belonged to her.
The man moved with professional precision, ensuring everything was placed exactly as it should be before approaching Arthur discreetly.
Without drawing attention, he handed him an envelope.
Arthur raised an eyebrow slightly before opening it—and the moment he saw the contents, even he couldn't help but pause.
Inside was a check.
An absurd one.
The number of zeros alone was enough to make most people question reality.
"…So this is what 'richest clan in the Underworld' actually looks like," he muttered internally, genuinely impressed for once.
The butler also presented a formal document—a betrothal contract—which Arthur signed without hesitation. Once completed, the man gave a respectful bow and departed, leaving behind both Ravel's belongings and a clear confirmation of their arrangement.
---
Later that night, Arthur gathered everyone around the dining table for what he casually referred to as a "family meeting."
Holding up the check, he looked at the group.
"So… any ideas on how we should use this?"
There was a brief silence before he spoke again.
"I was thinking we could renovate the house. It's big, sure, but I don't think it's good enough for all of you—not yet."
Rias immediately shook her head, her expression thoughtful rather than dismissive.
"I agree that the house should be renovated… but leave that to me. I'll take care of everything. We should use that money for something more meaningful."
Asia hesitated before speaking, her voice soft and uncertain.
"M-maybe we should save it… just in case something happens in the future…"
She glanced at the check again, still unable to fully process the amount.
"I've never seen so much money before…"
Akeno remained quiet, observing everyone with a small smile, clearly enjoying the discussion without feeling the need to intervene.
Then, after a brief pause, Ravel spoke.
"If it's alright… I could use it to invest in the human world."
Her tone carried a hint of nervousness, but there was confidence beneath it—a reflection of her upbringing.
Arthur looked at her for a moment before nodding.
"Alright. I'll leave it to you, Ravel."
The decision came easily.
He remembered well that in the original story, she was the one who managed finances with exceptional skill. More importantly, he trusted her instincts as a member of the Phenex clan.
Ravel's eyes lit up slightly at his response.
"Thank you… I won't disappoint you."
She silently promised herself that she would prove worthy of that trust.
---
"Now that that's settled," Arthur continued, leaning back slightly, "let's talk about the house."
What followed was a surprisingly lively discussion.
They talked about expanding rooms, adding new facilities, and redesigning entire sections of the villa. The property itself was already massive, giving them more than enough space to turn it into something truly extravagant.
Arthur requested something that caught everyone off guard.
"I want a blacksmith's workshop."
The table went quiet for a moment.
None of them had ever associated him with forging, but Arthur simply shrugged it off internally. He hadn't used the textbook in his inventory yet, but he already knew it would become useful soon.
By the time they finished, they had practically designed an entirely new home together.
---
Later that night, as things settled down, Arthur approached Asia.
"Can I talk to you for a moment?"
She nodded and followed him quietly.
"What is it… Arthur?"
He prepared himself a cup of coffee before turning to face her.
"I wanted to tell you something important."
Asia tensed slightly, sensing the seriousness in his tone.
"You don't need to be a servant in this house anymore."
For a moment—
Everything stopped.
Her body trembled, her expression collapsing almost instantly.
"Th-that means… you don't want me here anymore…?"
Her voice broke as tears welled up in her eyes.
Arthur froze.
"Huh? No—wait, that's not what I meant."
Realizing his mistake, he immediately stepped forward and pulled her into his arms.
"I said it wrong. What I meant is… you don't need to serve me anymore."
He tightened his embrace slightly, his voice softening.
"I want you to stay here… not as a servant, but as my partner. Just like Rias, Akeno, and Ravel."
Asia's tears spilled over completely.
"Waaah… I thought… I thought you were going to throw me away… like the church did…"
Arthur's grip tightened instinctively.
"I would never do that. Not now, not ever."
He gently rested his chin against her head.
"I want to be with you… for the rest of my life."
Her hands clutched his clothes as she cried openly.
"Sob… me too… I want to stay with you forever…"
It took a long time before she finally calmed down, and even then, she refused to let go of him for quite a while.
---
That night, Arthur didn't sleep.
Instead, he immersed himself completely in studying his grimoire.
With his regenerative abilities and stamina, exhaustion was no longer something that limited him. Hours passed unnoticed as he absorbed knowledge at an incredible rate.
The [Multiverse Book of Magic and Sorcery Vol. 1] contained fragments of countless magical systems, and while he hadn't mastered everything, his understanding had already reached a functional level.
Thanks to his enhanced comprehension and control over magical energy, he could now begin to use magic properly.
"Finally…"
He closed the book slowly, a faint smile forming.
"I can actually start using mana the way it's meant to be used."
And this—
Was only the beginning.
