'But I was supposed to be the one she was setting him up with. Why is Frances suddenly looking for other candidates for Damian Hawthorne?'
'After going to so much trouble to change my identity and make myself a worthy match for Mr. Hawthorne, some daughter from the Nathan family just pops up out of nowhere.'
"Serena, it's not about matchmaking," Frances Bennett explained with a gentle smile. "Once you've been in this circle for a while, you'll understand. Every gathering is a networking opportunity, and you don't attend them with only a single goal in mind."
