Bab 1: Breaking Through the World! The Awakening Panel!

"Hey, Izumo, what are you spacing out for? We're about to head to the Academy!"

That slightly rough voice rang in his ears, yanking Kurosawa Ren out of his tangled, drifting consciousness.

His eyes snapped open, and the first thing he saw was a room in traditional Japanese style. A paper sliding door stood open, morning sunlight filtering through the cherry blossom trees in the yard outside, casting scattered patches of light across the tatami floor.

An unfamiliar place, an unfamiliar voice, and… an unfamiliar body.

Ren reflexively raised his hand. What he saw was a young-looking palm, but the bones were well-defined, the skin a healthy wheat-brown tone.

He pushed himself up and looked around. A short sword hung on the wall, and beside it was a set of green flak armor and tight black clothing. No matter how he looked at it, the outfit gave off an incredibly familiar feeling.

"Izumo? Are you stupid or something? If we don't leave right now, we're going to be late and get punished with laps by Morino-sensei!" the impatient voice came again from the doorway.

A tall teenager poked his head inside, his face showing clear impatience. It was Kotetsu Hagane.

Kamizuki Izumo? Kotetsu Hagane? The Ninja Academy?

A chain of information exploded through Ren's mind like lightning. He finally realized what had happened.

He had crossed into another world.

He had crossed into the world of Naruto.

And he had become a background Chūnin character from the original story—Kamizuki Izumo.

As a hardcore Naruto fan, Ren had a fairly deep impression of Kamizuki Izumo. He was a Konoha Chūnin, a member of Konoha's Barrier Team, and the trusted partner of Kotetsu Hagane, someone skilled in Water Release-based Ninjutsu.

But precisely because his role was rarely in the spotlight, this character's growth path was almost completely blank.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming!" Ren—or rather, Kamizuki Izumo—pressed down the shock in his heart, mimicked Izumo's usual tone from memory, and quickly put on his clothes.

(From now on, the protagonist will be called Izumo.)

The two of them ran side by side toward the Ninja Academy.

The morning in Konoha Village felt incredibly peaceful. The houses along the streets were neatly arranged, and now and then, villagers who had woken up early and ninja on patrol could be seen going about their routines.

As he ran, Izumo felt the reality of this living ninja world, and a faint uneasiness filled his heart.

The Ninja Academy was located near the center of the village, a complex of buildings with a wide open training ground.

At this moment, many students wearing school uniforms had already gathered on the field. They chatted among themselves, discussing things with lively excitement.

As soon as Izumo Kamizuki and Kotetsu Hagane took their places, a burly man with scars on his face walked over. It was their homeroom teacher—Morino Ibiki.

"Silence!"

Morino Ibiki's voice boomed like a massive bell, instantly turning the noisy field quiet.

"Today's morning training is Basic Taijutsu. Now, watch carefully as I demonstrate!"

Morino Ibiki personally showed the basic movements—punches, kicks, and blocks—then ordered the students to practice in groups.

Izumo and Kotetsu were in the same group, exchanging attacks as part of their training.

But because Izumo had only just taken over this body and hadn't fully mastered its physical instincts and memories, he inevitably took several solid hits.

Kotetsu looked confused and leaned in to whisper, "Izumo, you're kind of weird today. Why did your skill drop this much?"

Izumo struggled to keep up with the incoming attacks, not having the time to answer.

Morino Ibiki, who was standing nearby, also noticed something off. Izumo's movements looked like those of a complete beginner who had just learned how to walk. Ibiki's brows furrowed deeply.

He stepped forward and stopped their training.

Kotetsu's heart tightened when he saw their teacher approaching, but he still spoke up. "Sensei, Izumo hasn't been in great condition since this morning. It seems like he hasn't fully recovered yet."

Morino Ibiki shot Kotetsu a brief glance, said nothing, then turned his serious gaze toward Izumo.

"Kamizuki, do you realize that once this semester ends, your class will start preparing to step onto the battlefield? With Taijutsu like this, you'd be killed by the enemy in a single fight."

Izumo's face flushed red. He lowered his head, lips pressed tightly together.

The other students training nearby noticed the commotion and unconsciously stopped to watch.

"I told you Kamizuki was useless. Even during yesterday's run, he ranked dead last. Now he's getting scolded by sensei again."

"If Kotetsu Hagane hadn't gone easy on him, his Taijutsu would probably be the worst too. Now he's finally exposed, huh."

Hearing those whispers, Morino Ibiki's brows knitted even tighter. He shot a sharp glare at the students who were talking.

"What are you all staring at? Keep training! Anyone who's not practicing will run ten laps around the field!"

In an instant, the training ground fell silent again. The students who had been whispering didn't dare look over anymore and quickly returned to their exercises.

At that moment, Izumo lifted his head. His voice trembled slightly.

"Ibiki-sensei, today I'd like to request a day off to rest and adjust my condition. I ask for your permission."

Morino Ibiki looked at Izumo's face. He thought that his words earlier might have hurt the boy's feelings, so he spoke in a softer tone.

"Kamizuki, sensei will grant your leave. But what I said wasn't meant to hurt you. I'm just worried and hope you can properly adjust yourself. Tomorrow, let sensei see your change."

Watching Izumo walk out through the school gate, Kotetsu could only stare at his back with worry, then turned and resumed the new round of training under sensei's instructions.

All the way home, Izumo kept his head lowered, walking in silence.

In front of his eyes—something no one else could see—a half-transparent, light-blue panel floated quietly in the air.
