Umbra looked over to Inu, while still holding Kami up. Kami couldn't do anything, he was barely able to breathe in Umbra's grip.
Right then Inu transformed again. Not into a panther now but into something way more dangerous. Inu morphed into a three meter tall Bear, with black fur and her glowing green eyes.
With a loud roar she lunged towards Umbra, trying to hit his face with her big paw, but she simply fades through his shadowy body.
"You cannot defeat a shadow, whose body can't be touched. I am invincible" were Umbra's words, right before a bright blue spear pierced through his chest, stopping just a few centimeters before hitting Kami.
Behind them was Akira, who had turned some light into hard matter and threw a spear made out of pure light towards Umbra.
"Let him down brother, we're all in this God game together, no need to kill each other unnecessarily" Akira screamed toward Umbra.
Umbra then grabbed the spear that was stuck in his chest, a huge amount of blood dripped down to the ground. He let go of Kami and with the words "If you think we don't have to kill each other you didn't quite understand the situation we're in" he vanishes back into his own shadow.
Clutching his bruised throat and gasping for air, Kami looked up to Akira "Thank you" he whispered hoarsely.
"Don't just thank me Kami, if it wouldn't have been for Kaito here, then Umbra would've seen my attack coming."
"Hey Kami, I asked Akira to lead me to you, because I wanted to go with you." Next to Akira stood a young man, about the same height as Kami, slim figure, white hair, black shirt and jeans, and a grey wristwatch.
"Well then, thank you too for saving me. But how did you do it?" Kami asked that man.
"With my ability Vector of course. It allows me to change the direction of objects to a certain degree, so Akira threw the spear in the wrong direction and last second I changed the direction so Umbra wouldn't notice that it was headed towards him"
Kami made big eyes, and told him that he was impressed by his ability.
"Seriously thank you man, but why do you want to come with me?"
"I thought you would need a helping hand, when confronting Umbra in his own territory and saving your sister," Kaito explained. "Besides that, I want to do something impactful and not just rot away here in this village. Don't get me wrong, I like it here, but instead of hanging around in this village and wait for my death, I want to find a way to break the "only one survives" rule and survive this shit show"
Kami and Inu shared an approving look, as Kami said "Alright, one more is one more, and your ability can definitely prove very useful. I'm still not quite used to this whole god and ability and coder thing that is going on but what I do know is that I wanna stop Umbra and save Asuka. And if you're willing to help, I'd be glad to have you join us"
Kami and Kaito shook hands and began to walk out of the village, waving a last goodbye to Akira for now.
As they left the village they returned to an empty street in the middle of Tokyo, filled with the bright neon lights of the night.
"Hey Kaito, if you do not redirect the projectile of someone else, how do you fight?" Kami asked curiously.
"Well, I don't have too much fighting experience yet, but i can use pretty much anything, that's not too big. Take this for example" He walked towards a small rock on the ground and picked it up. He threw it slowly and with a small movement of his hand the rock began to fly into a trash can with immense speed
"Wow, that's cool Kaito"
Kaito then reaches into the bag of his pants and takes out a bag of small iron balls. "But if nothing is in range, I use these. I just throw one of these and start changing the direction and accelerating them, to fight my enemy. It isn't the strongest ability but it works"
