When the lights inside Steve's villa suddenly dimmed,
and gunshots rang out at the same time, Playboy Rob and Left Ear, who were waiting outside,
as well as Lyle, who was providing technical support at the foot of the hill, were all startled.
"Charlie!"
Playboy Rob had the deepest bond with Charlie; they had been old friends for years and were his longest-standing partners.
Seeing that something seemed to have happened to him, Rob immediately began calling out in a panic,
hoping his old friend could give him an answer.
However, there was nothing but silence on the communication channel.
After a full minute or two of silence, Rob's eyes had turned red.
"Left Ear, are there still explosives in the car?"
He asked sharply, questioning Left Ear in the passenger seat!
Left Ear's face didn't look good either as he nodded: "There are still a few simple explosives assembled from blasting caps!"
His expression changed instantly when he saw Rob pull out a handgun from his person.
"Rob, have you lost your mind?"
If caught for theft, they would be sentenced to anywhere from a few years to over a decade.
They had the money to hire good lawyers, and usually, they could get out in a few years at most.
Moreover, if the theft wasn't successful, the owner of the stolen property would, at most, give them a severe beating.
If human lives were involved, it would be a real problem.
This was even more true for Steve!
He dared to kill people in Europe, but he absolutely wouldn't dare do it in front of others within the United States.
The reason was simple: although U.S. law stipulated that a villa owner could kill an intruder on their private property when their personal safety or property was threatened,
the government would still investigate the specific circumstances afterward!
Steve was currently using a fake identity to buy the villa; it wouldn't stand up to an investigation at all.
Furthermore, the gold he lost was also stolen, so naturally, he didn't dare let things escalate.
This was why Charlie had come up with the plan to use the threat of a bomb to force Steve to release the person.
But if Rob carried a gun and even got into a conflict with Steve's men, then things would truly spiral out of control.
Rob could no longer care about thinking things through!
His old friend Charlie wasn't responding at all; he had to go save him.
"I'll go alone!"
After Rob finished speaking, he didn't wait for Left Ear's reply.
He grabbed the explosives from the back seat.
Then, holding his gun, he got out of the car and rushed toward Steve's villa nearby.
Left Ear was left behind, shouting continuously.
After a long while, he gritted his teeth and also drove the car toward the villa.
Steve, driving the car fully loaded with 'gold bars,' soon returned to the front of the villa.
Before he even got close, he heard shouting.
The armored SUV that had rushed back earlier was already parked in front of the villa gate.
However, the people in the car had already gotten out.
Steve noticed that his subordinates were all chasing toward one side of the villa.
He quickly picked up his walkie-talkie, switched to the correct channel, and asked: "All teams report status. Have any intruders been found?"
"Villa main gate is normal!"
"Boss, the distribution box in the courtyard was pierced by a crossbow bolt. There is more than one opponent."
"The security company has been contacted; they will send someone soon to Repair the circuit."
"Boss, we've spotted an intruder escaping toward the garden on the right side of the villa."
"The backup power in the basement is about to start."
Hearing this, Steve was about to get out of the car.
Suddenly, it was as if he remembered something.
He instinctively adjusted the front of the car and turned on the high beams, shining them toward the cliff.
In an instant, Steve's face changed drastically.
Through the light, he clearly saw a figure in the darkness rushing quickly toward the cliff.
And that person seemed to be carrying something in their arms.
Steve couldn't see very clearly, but thinking back to the scream inside the villa just now, his face turned incredibly grim.
He immediately picked up the walkie-talkie and said sternly: "One team, get to the cliff area. There's something happening there, move!"
Steve quickly got out of the car. The gap between the villa and the rear cliff was only wide enough for a car to pass through with great difficulty.
To avoid blocking his subordinates who were following, he simply decided not to drive.
However, the car was still running, and Steve didn't turn off the high beams.
He grabbed his gun, closed the car door, and chased toward the cliff behind the villa.
Hunter, carrying Slater who was tied to the chair, headed straight for the cliff behind Steve's villa.
With Slater in tow, the difficulty of climbing over the high walls was undoubtedly too great.
In comparison, escaping by rappelling down the cliff at the back had a lower difficulty factor.
"Mmph!"
"Mmph!"
Slater struggled continuously, seemingly trying to say something.
Unfortunately, Hunter had no intention of paying her any mind.
At least not until they escaped; he didn't want to deal with Slater right now.
This woman was beautiful, but she was also a source of trouble.
Relying on his physical fitness, which already exceeded that of an ordinary person by more than twice, Hunter quickly reached the vicinity of the cliff with Slater.
Just then, two beams of light suddenly shot over.
Clearly, they were the high beams of a car.
"Damn, Steve and his men noticed."
Hunter steeled his heart, and under a full burst of energy, his speed actually increased by another fraction.
After only two or three breaths, he arrived at the cliff with Slater.
He deliberately laid Slater, still tied to the chair, face down on the ground so she couldn't see him.
Hunter quickly took out a set of rappelling gear from his private space and put it on.
---Requesting Flowers--- After finishing this, he was just about to tie the rope to a Climbing Piton he had left at the top of the cliff last time.
Suddenly, a sense of crisis washed over him.
He instinctively rolled to the side!
*Rat-tat-tat-tat!*
Gunfire soon rang out, and a burst of bullets sprayed toward where Hunter had been standing.
"An AK!"
There was no cover near the cliff, and Hunter scrambled to roll away in a sorry state.
Steeling his heart, he took out a grenade from his private space that he had requested from Dominic.
Then, he pulled the safety pin and threw it in the direction the bullets were coming from.
*Boom!*
With the sound of the explosion, the AK's gunfire stopped abruptly.
Hunter couldn't be sure if he had hit the target.
But he knew that Steve's men would all be drawn here soon.
Immediately leaping up from the ground, Hunter didn't have time to brush off the dust and weeds as he rushed toward the edge of the cliff.
..."Are you okay!"
He shouted to Slater not far away, while quickly tying the Rappelling Rope to the Climbing Piton.
"Mmm-hmm!"
Hearing that Slater's response didn't carry any tone of pain, Hunter breathed a sigh of relief.
He was just about to pick her up and descend the cliff.
Suddenly, Hunter seemed to remember something.
He quickly knelt down and carefully inspected the Climbing Piton.
Soon, with a cold sneer, Hunter took a large sledgehammer from his Portable Space and struck it hard several times.
"What an insidious guy; I almost got killed by your trap."
When Steve and the others had discovered the Climbing Pitons Hunter had driven into the cliff earlier, they hadn't chosen to remove them at all.
Instead, they had tampered with them, loosening the pitons slightly.
Take this Climbing Piton on the cliff that Hunter was using for his Rappelling Rope, for example.
If he hadn't noticed and had hurriedly jumped down after tying the rope...
The piton would likely have been ripped out by Hunter's weight because it had been loosened.
If that happened, he would have been in a terrible situation.
He couldn't help but marvel inwardly for a moment at Steve's insidiousness.
However, Hunter knew that now was not the time for reflection.
He quickly took out a knife, went to Slater's side, and nimbly cut all the ropes on her body.
As soon as Slater was untied from the stool, she reached out to remove the napkin from her mouth.
"Go!"
Ignoring Slater's reaction, Hunter quickly used the other end of the Rappelling Rope to make a safety harness around her.
Then, holding her, he rushed toward the cliff and rapidly descended...
