The Campfire Stories - Aetherbound Edition

Mini Campfire Story 1 — "The Boar Incident"

Morian: "Remember when we tried riding that giant boar?"

Deyr: "You tried riding it. We ran for our lives."

Suvarn: "It chased Morian down a hill."

Kaenmor: "He screamed louder than the boar."

Dravon: "…Pathetic."

Morian flexes.

"It tripped. I won."

Everyone else:

"No you didn't."

Mini Campfire Story 2 — "Deyr's Pickup Line"

Deyr: "I once used this PERFECT line. 'Your beauty could—'"

Kaenmor: "She slapped you before you finished."

Suvarn: "And poured soup on your head."

Morian: "YOU CRIED."

Deyr: "IT WAS HOT SOUP!"

Dravon: "You deserved worse."

Mini Campfire Story 3 — "Suvarn's Cool Entrance"

Suvarn: "I once tried entering battle dramatically."

Deyr: "You tripped."

Morian: "On a rock."

Kaenmor: "And set a tree on fire."

Dravon: "Your existence is a hazard."

Suvarn:

"…why am I here."

Mini Campfire Story 4 — "Kaenmor's Cute Trauma"

Morian: "Kaenmor, tell them about the rabbit."

Kaenmor sighs.

"It followed me for miles."

Deyr: "It bit you every time you stopped walking."

Suvarn: "But you still fed it."

Kaenmor, soft smile:

"It was persistent."

Dravon: "…It bullied him."

Mini Campfire Story 5 — "Dravon's Only Joke"

Morian: "Tell them the one time Dravon made a joke!"

Deyr: "YES. TELL IT."

Dravon:

"No."

Suvarn: "Please…?"

Dravon sighs, then:

"Deyr is fast.

At running from responsibility."

Morian dies laughing.

Deyr:

"THAT WAS RUDE AND I HATE HOW FUNNY IT WAS."

SEMI-CANNON:

AETHERBOUND CAMPFIRE STORY – "THE LEGEND OF THE SHADOW CHICKEN"

It begins with Deyr leaning back, grinning wickedly at Suvarn.

Deyr:

"Hey Hope-boy, remember that time you tried to summon a spirit animal?"

Suvarn immediately goes pale.

Kaenmor hides a smile.

Morian already starts laughing.

Suvarn:

"No. We are NOT telling that story."

Morian:

"Oh yes we are."

Years Ago…

Suvarn had learned a new ritual from an old monk.

A ceremony meant to reveal your inner spirit animal — a guardian that represented your soul, strength, destiny…

Suvarn was so excited.

He gathered everyone at the shrine:

Kaenmor sat politely.

Morian sat impatiently.

Deyr stole the ceremonial incense and sniffed it like an idiot.

Dravon stood in the corner questioning his life choices.

Suvarn began chanting dramatically:

"Sacred spirits, reveal my true—"

A puff of smoke filled the air.

All the Aetherbounds leaned forward.

And then…

A chicken materialized.

But not just any chicken.

A black-feathered, red-eyed, demonic-looking chicken

that stared directly at Suvarn with hellfire judgement.

Present Time at the Campfire

Suvarn buries his face in his hands.

"WHY IS IT ALWAYS BROUGHT UP—"

Deyr (crying with laughter):

"A SHADOW CHICKEN! YOUR SPIRIT ANIMAL WAS A SHADOW CHICKEN!"

Morian:

"That thing chased you for forty-five minutes!"

Kaenmor (soft laugh):

"It pecked him whenever he screamed."

Suvarn shouts:

"BECAUSE IT WAS TERRIFYING!"

Deyr:

"It tried to assert dominance over you!"

Suvarn:

"It DID dominate me!"

Everyone bursts out laughing except Dravon, who simply sips his drink.

Dravon (dead serious):

"It chose correctly."

Suvarn collapses to the ground in despair.

The Ending

Kaenmor pats Suvarn's back gently.

Kaenmor:

"Suvarn… spirit animals represent perseverance. Courage. Heart."

Morian nods vigorously.

Morian:

"That chicken NEVER gave up."

Deyr:

"Unlike SOME people."

Suvarn turns red.

Dravon finally speaks one last time:

Dravon:

"If your spirit animal is a chicken, at least hope you become a strong one."

Suvarn screams:

"THAT DOESN'T HELP!"

The entire camp erupts in hysterical chaos.
