Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

"Uncle, I wasn't asking you," Aland interrupted quietly. Bros's face flushed red; thoroughly annoyed, he crossed his arms and closed his eyes.

"Actually, I've been working here for a long time, young master. It's just that I work directly for the Mistress, just like Bros. She always gives me assignments outside the house, so I'm rarely around," the driver replied.

*He's a cold and calm person. He even looks like a teenager,* Aland thought, intrigued by the man.

"So what is your name?"

"I can't keep calling you 'Driver,' can I?"

"Uh... my name is Luke, young master."

"Luke?"

"Yes, Luke Swath."

"Ah, good, I'll remember you, Luke! *Heh heh!*"

...

They finally arrived at a large, glittering building. Several burly men stood guarding the entrance gate.

"Are you sure you're going alone? What if I accompany you?" Luke asked Bros.

Bros looked into the back seat, where Aland was sound asleep. "I'll be enough. You should stay with the young master. We don't know what might happen if both of us go in." He opened the car door.

"You stay here. The young master's safety is our priority!" Bros said and walked away.

"Alright!" Luke smiled.

*Yes, I'm sure you'll handle it. My real reason for wanting to go with you was to stop you from killing them. The Mistress has already warned you not to kill people without cause,* Luke thought.

*I hate it when you keep making the Mistress worry.* "Well... we'll see what happens."

Bros stopped in front of the building entrance when the security guards blocked his path. They asked what his business was there.

This massive building was the headquarters of the Calistik group-a syndicate that sold and distributed illegal drugs and smuggled illegal weapons from other continents.

Not only that, but they also lent money in unlimited amounts. However, the interest on the loans would be multiplied repeatedly until the person was left with nothing but the clothes on their back.

The local government wasn't suspicious of the building because it claimed to be just a regular building that opened a late-night disco to entertain the wealthy people there.

"I came here to pay a debt," he said flatly.

The men immediately led Bros to the administration office on the fifth floor. He quickly realized that the person he was looking for wasn't there. Bros paused and said,

"I want to pay it directly to your Boss."

The administrator looked slightly confused. "Didn't you come here to pay a debt? Then why are you looking for our boss?"

The administrator called his men who were outside, and they immediately came in.

"Judging by your demeanor, I'd say you came here looking for trouble." Bros remained silent, listening to his words.

"Drag him out, you bastards! And find out who sent him here! I'm sure he's a spy!"

Two men grabbed one of Bros's arms each. "How dare a dog enter a tiger's den!"

They tried to pull him, but Bros didn't budge. They tried again with all their strength, but the result was the same.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! GET HIM OUT OF HERE NOW!" the Administrator roared.

*What is wrong with this man? His body looks completely average... yet those men can't move him even an inch!* he thought, feeling the atmosphere change and finding it hard to breathe.

"I asked you nicely. But this is your response?" Bros said flatly, his aura beginning to envelop his body, blue like the ocean.

Suddenly, Bros stomped hard on the foot of the man on his left, causing a large crack to appear in the floor.

*Boom!*

"AAA!" He instantly released his grip on Bros.

Bros then made a swift move on the man to his right, grabbing the man's arm and slamming him hard into the administration desk in front of him, splitting it in two.

*Thud!*

Ten men immediately attacked Bros simultaneously. The administrator trembled as he watched his men slowly dwindle, seeing Bros throw them out of the fifth floor. He tossed them through the windows like pillows.

*Bastard! Who is this man?! He must be at Star 7 already. I have to get out of here and call for backup from the tenth floor!* he thought, slowly backing away from Bros.

Those who thought Bros was just a dog were wrong. Bros himself was a Lion preying on a Tiger.

Bros saw the man trying to escape. He then darted quickly toward him, simultaneously swinging a punch at the administrator's face.

*Smack!*

*Boom!*

The man was thrown hard against the wall. He tried to stand up, staggering from the blow that had injured his head. Bros grabbed his head, yanked his hair up high, and said, "Where is your Boss? You DAMN Dwarf!"

...

The administrator was forced to bring Bros into the Boss's office, where the Boss was currently holding a meeting with the executive members of Calistik.

*Slam!*

The door burst open. Someone inside the room glared at Bros with a murderous gaze. And why wouldn't they? Bros was still gripping the administrator's head, having dragged him all the way there. That administrator was the youngest sibling of the Calistik leader.

Bros saw nine people in the room: three Humans, three Elves, one Half-Beast, and one Dwarf-who was the leader of the Calistik group. They were all seated at a long, magnificent table before him.

Bros hurled the Dwarf he had been holding onto the center of the long table. The leader could no longer contain his rage.

"YOU BASTARD!"

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY BROTHER?!" He vanished and suddenly reappeared next to his sibling.

"You're looking for death, kid," the Half-Beast said flatly.

"This is why I hate humans. They always act so entitled... just like our funny little clown, hehehe!" retorted one of the female Elves.

"Hey! Watch your mouth! Before I rip it off. Humans aren't all that bad, you know," countered one of the humans present, who was wearing a red jacket resembling a clown.

He then looked at Bros and said, "Just him! He's the bastard among bastards in humanity. Don't drag me into this!"

*They are all at least Star 6 or 7. If there were only five of them, I could probably defeat them all without a scratch. But nine? Do I have to kill them?* Bros thought, remembering the prohibition placed upon him (Aland's Mother).

"WHY ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE, YOU BASTARD?!"

"Hey! This is all his fault. I asked him to show me his boss's office, but he refused. As a Dwarf, you should know that humans have a limit to their patience," Bros replied flatly.

"Hahaha! I like your style!" the clown man exclaimed.

"That is no excuse for you to hurt my brother... one command from me and you'll-"

"Shhh! Let's just end this!" Bros interrupted, leaping onto the table.

"Since it's late and I need to get my young master home before midnight... I'll get straight to the point. I'm going to give you two choices!

"First, never again disturb the family living on the outskirts of the Hansam village forest. Second, you refuse the first request, and what will follow is destruction for the second time. Before you answer, you must think carefully about your choice." He stared intently at the Calistik leader.

Bros's statement made everyone present wrestle with their thoughts. They all wondered, 'Has Calistik been destroyed before?'

*What is this? I'm starting to get a bad feeling,* the Calistik leader thought.

"W-what do you mean?" the Calistik leader asked.

"Oh? Did you not hear what I said?"

"Th-that's not what I meant. I meant the 'second destruction' you mentioned. I'm certain this is the first time we've met!"

Bros began to smirk. "Ah! Fine, I'll explain. You'd better open your ears wide.
