Chapter 3 - 2. Escape

"Running away so soon, you fucker? You think you can escape here?" a familiar voice whispered through the smoke.

As the bearded man slowly pulled the trigger of his gun, one of the men on the man in blue's side hurriedly turned off the power switch, and everything went dark.

Shocked, the bearded man hurriedly pulled his trigger, knowing his target was still in front of him even though he couldn't see him because of the darkness. The light from the gunshots repeatedly sparked in the dark, and the sound of gunfire echoed in every corner of the room.

Just as he was about to start celebrating, believing he had already killed the man in the blue suit, a gunshot suddenly rang out from nowhere. His shoulder was hit, making him curse as he fired his gun wildly everywhere. He didn't care if he accidentally shot his own men. All he cared about was killing the person who shot him.

Meanwhile, the one who shot him was the very man he thought was already dead, the man in the blue suit. The man in blue escaped death because when the lights went out, Theo pulled him down to dodge the bearded man's bullet. They crawled until they reached the tunnel they were supposed to escape through earlier. But before the man in blue entered the tunnel, he shot the bearded man. He couldn't see properly where he hit him, but he was hoping he had shot him straight in the head.

"Die, you motherfucker" As he began to celebrate, repeated gunshots were heard, forcing him to drop to the ground.

'Fuck, he's still alive. How many demons are backing this bastard?' He was about to shoot the bearded man again out of frustration when Theo suddenly grabbed his arm and pulled him inside the tunnel. He didn't care if the man cursed him or not. His only priority was the man's safety.

Inside the private room, the bearded man didn't stop shooting until his gun ran out of bullets. In the room, only a few were still barely alive, while the rest were definitely dead, whether they were the man in the blue suit's men or the bearded man's men.

The bearded man threw his gun to the ground and grabbed another from a dead man on the floor. He kicked the door so hard that it burst open with a loud sound.

"GUERRERO!!" he shouted as he stormed out. No one was left inside the restaurant, because when the sounds of chaos escaped the private room, everyone fled immediately, not wanting to be caught by armed men. The bearded man's remaining men approached him.

"FIND THAT BASTARD! DEAD OR ALIVE!" he screamed at the top of his lungs.

Meanwhile, the two men continued running through the narrow tunnel. Even though they kept bumping their heads on the low ceiling, they didn't stop, fearing their enemies might catch up to them.

They reached the exit of the long tunnel and got out through a metal door used for drainage. They helped each other climb up and leave the tunnel.

They arrived at an establishment two buildings away from the restaurant they had come from.

"I need to call them." Theo took out his cellphone and dialed the number of one of their companions, since they still had two men left in the cars parked at the restaurant's parking lot.

'I hope those idiots haven't been caught by those bastards,' Theo thought as he repeatedly dialed the number until it was answered.

["Theo, where is the young master? Are you okay?"]

It seemed the remaining men of the man in blue already knew what had happened inside the restaurant. He was inside his car with the doors tightly locked, gripping the steering wheel and repeatedly looking around.

["Was it Ferrer's men who attacked you?"]

"Stop asking too many questions. Track my phone and come to us right now!" Theo didn't wait for a reply and immediately ended the call.

He looked around, and his eyes landed on his injured young master leaning against the wall. There was a bullet graze on his cheek and several wounds from broken glass on his hands and knees, which were now slowly bleeding. But despite that, the man in blue showed no sign of pain. What dominated him was anger and the desire for revenge.

He hadn't gotten the drugs in the suitcase, which only made him more frustrated.

But unknown to them, the bearded man's men were already close to their location, until one of them now riding in a car, finally spotted them on the street.

The men in black immediately got out and drew their guns.

"Shit." The man in blue fired first at Kuznetsov's men, and Theo immediately followed. They ran to the end of the building, but men were already waiting for them there. Bullets rained down on them, forcing them to hide behind a large trash bin as they fired back continuously.

Many of Kuznetsov's men were hit, but not even a single graze landed on the two men.

'We're running out of bullets.' Theo checked his magazine and saw he only had three bullets left, while the man in blue kept firing until his gun completely ran dry.

"AHHH, BULLSHIT!"

Theo looked around and spotted a back door.

'If my bullets run out, we're going to fucking die.' Theo tightly gripped his gun.

While Kuznetsov's men continued raining bullets at them, they had no choice but to stay hidden at the side.

"Young master, I'll back you up. You need to run to the back door," he said firmly to the man in blue, who was now staring at it. But he suddenly dodged when another bullet slammed into the trash bin they were hiding behind.

"That's going to be dangerous. They're shooting at us from both sides. One wrong move and the two of us are going to die," the man in blue said with a frown.

'But it's better to try than do nothing, you idiot.' Theo thought frustratedly. Even though Theo wanted to curse his young master, he restrained himself because he was his boss.

"We need to do this, young master!"

"But how? Are you going to shield me with your body if both sides shoot us?" the man in blue said irritably.

'Ugh, that's so stupid!' Theo thought as he sighed deeply. His young master was so stubborn that he almost wanted to bang his head against the wall, but he chose to stay calm.

"Fine. You shoot them while we walk to the back door, and I'll use this trash bin as a shield on the other side. Yes, young master?" He smiled, though it was forced. The young master didn't notice, too focused on the men firing at them.

"That's still ris—"

Theo suddenly shoved the gun into his hand and grabbed the large trash bin in front of them.

"Hey, I said—"

He didn't let the young master finish as he pushed the trash bin forward, making the young master curse loudly as he followed.

'I'm sorry, young master. You keep complaining, and we're running out of time. Punish me later if we survive this.....if we even survive,' Theo thought as he pushed the trash bin forward while the young master kept firing at the men on the other side.

They reached the back door, but when Theo tried to open it, he realized it was locked from the inside.

'Fuck… we're doomed.'

Just as the last echo of gunfire rang behind them, Theo heard a slow, deliberate *click* from the other side of the locked door.

Someone was unlocking it.

And the footsteps on the other side were coming closer.
