Chapter 77 - Chapter 77 Bullet of Truth, Kirin Horn

Inside the Forbidden Forest.

Lucien leaned against a auspicious cloud, with a golden gourd also held aloft by an auspicious cloud in front of him.

Suddenly, Lucien's figure emerged from the mouth of the gourd.

He held a transparent box in his hand, and suspended in the center of the box was a grayish-brown solid, which at first glance looked like dry earth.

"Phew, the Delayed Truth has been refined, thankfully nothing went wrong."

He used magic to secure it in the center of the container, ensuring it didn't touch any of the walls, to prevent accidental detonation from collisions.

"Let's test the effect first."

Lucien manipulated his wand, and a fragment no larger than a pinky fingernail separated from the grayish-brown solid.

"According to the book's description, the explosive effect of this amount should be…"

Calculating the distance, Lucien flicked the small fragment about twenty meters away.

The small fragment landed lightly on the ground, without any change, just like a common mud clod.

The grayish-brown fragment bounced slightly, then fell again.

The fragment suddenly expanded, instantly growing into a large sphere with a two-meter diameter.

"Boom—"

A violent roar exploded directly in the Forbidden Forest, startling various birds and beasts into a cacophony of cries.

After the commotion died down, Lucien approached with Lumina.

A deep pit, five or six meters in radius, had appeared on the ground.

"Hmm, the effect is quite good."

Lucien noticed that the surface of the pit was still covered with some strange grayish-brown liquid, which was continuously eroding the soil.

"Is it because of the properties of Billywig Sting Extract? This kind of explosion is also similar to dissolution."

"It doesn't just blast objects into Diffindo; it can also directly dissolve them."

"For some thick protective measures, the breaking speed should be faster."

"Lumina, help me look again."

After instructing Lumina, Lucien re-entered the golden gourd, a container specifically used for Alchemy.

This time, he didn't make Lumina wait long.

Having already made the most important part, Lucien only needed to load the Delayed Truth into special bullet casings.

The slightly more troublesome parts were preventing accidental activation and how to trigger them after firing, but Lucien had already thought of a design concept.

Moreover, magic was incredibly convenient, making it easy to create the structures he needed.

When he reappeared, Lucien already had a box of grayish-yellow bullets in his hand.

With his other hand, he pulled out a transforming pocket watch.

As magic surged, the pointer stopped at a revolver icon.

The pocket watch instantly transformed into a brass-colored revolver.

He experimentally loaded a bullet, aiming at a large tree in the distance.

Bang—

The moment the shot rang out, a large bulge appeared on the tree trunk.

Immediately after, a portion of the tree trunk vanished into thin air.

"That's pretty good."

Amidst the sound of the large tree toppling, Lucien looked at the bullet in his hand.

"Hmm, let's call them Truth Bullets."

Putting away the bullets and the transformed pocket watch, Lucien patted Lumina's neck.

"Let's go, one more trip, to that Mooncalf cave from last time."

"Okay, Master, I have something I want to tell you."

"Oh, what is it?"

Lumina suddenly seemed a bit shy,

"Uh, I think I'm about to shed my scales!"

Lucien turned to look at Lumina, his eyes a bit bewildered,

"You said, shed scales?"

At the same time, Lucien immediately communicated with the system:

"System, do Qilins also need to shed scales?"

[Yes, especially Qilins in their growth period, they will shed scales more frequently, about once a month.]

[Each time they shed scales, it is proof of their physical growth.]

Hearing the system's explanation, Lucien felt relieved.

So it was a normal physiological phenomenon.

He wondered what the Unicorn scales would look like after shedding…

"Eh, Unicorn scale, magical creature body tissue."

Lucien thought of something, suddenly pulling out a relatively thin book from his pocket, with a gilded "P" on it.

According to his memory, he quickly flipped to one of the pages.

"That's right, using the body tissue of magical creatures as the dominant component, amplifying and utilizing their characteristics."

This was a type of Alchemy recorded in the Potter Family magic book.

"Hmm, can I use the scales shed by Lumina to create some special Alchemy tools?"

"Anyway, if they're shed, not using them would be a waste."

"Moreover, Unicorn scales have a certain magic resistance."

"Making them into protective gear or something should be quite practical."

"Or, I could try to see if they can be integrated into the transforming pocket watch to add some new effects?"

As Lucien was pondering, Lumina's voice rang in his mind again:

"Oh right, Master, I think I'm also going to shed my horn!"

Shed horn?

"System, Unicorn shedding horn…"

However, before Lucien could finish asking the system.

"Clatter—"

A short, branched horn fell to the ground.

Lucien instinctively looked at the short horn; it was warm and smooth like jade, with a rounded tip.

Then he looked at Lumina; only a single, lonely short horn remained on its forehead.

"Master, my head feels itchy!"

"Uh, how is this… like a deer?"

Lucien couldn't help but recall deer he had seen during their horn-shedding period.

They often had only one horn, and some deer even became unbalanced due to overly large and heavy horns.

"Fortunately, Lumina's horn isn't too big, aside from looking a bit odd."

"Hmm, is this the awkward phase?"

"Lumina, you dropped a horn."

"Ah, oh."

Lucien shook his head helplessly, waving his wand to summon the horn on the ground into his hand.

He pointed his wand, but the Unicorn horn remained silent, not moving at all.

"Hmm?"

"Did the spell go wrong?"

"No, the magic flow feels quite normal."

"Could it be that, like the Unicorn scales, the horn also possesses magic resistance?"

Lucien tried again, but the Unicorn horn still didn't budge.

"Interesting."

Lucien bent down and picked up the white-jade-like Unicorn horn; although it had fallen off, it still had a warm touch.

He placed the short horn on a large boulder.

Waving his wand again, various magic spells followed one after another, and for a moment, wind and fire swirled, and electric snakes danced wildly.

When the aftermath dissipated.

Only the base of the boulder remained, but the Unicorn horn lying in the center was completely intact.

Not a single mark was left on its white-jade-like surface.

"It feels like its resistance to magic is even stronger than the scales."

"At least some magic could still leave an impact on Unicorn scales."

Lucien suddenly had an idea.

He waved his wand and cast a Shield Charm around himself.

A transparent magic shield protected Lucien's entire body; this was a common protective spell.

It could deflect or even dissipate objects or spells, protecting the caster and a certain surrounding area.

Lucien, with his hand covered by the Shield Charm, touched the Unicorn horn.

"Crack—"

As the caster, Lucien felt an invisible sound of shattering.
