What to do on a night like this after hearing it will take months for the equipment to be ready? I am brimming with power after the savage lands. It's time for another upgrade, but in which direction should I go? Charles
Charles
I have no immediate needs; there are no urgent projects at the moment. Forge told me he is almost done building defenses so the Murlocks can move into the property, and that's when I will start getting busy. Even then, I have already started setting up, acquiring seeds, and reinvesting. So, what do those around me need? After all, I chose this set of powers to ensure I don't lose anyone.

I could start getting psychic imprints in case I'm not in time to heal them. Of course, I can't integrate Nate Grey because of his reality-warping. Legion, I wouldn't touch with a 100-foot pole, that would cause way too many problems. So running through my head who my other favorite telepaths were left me speechless as I saw what I had available to me. better-than-thou

Omega
First one, Exodus, and he wasn't a favorite. Dark Beast apparently had access to his DNA. Which makes sense, Exodus was known to have been tampered with by Apocalypse in one timeline. Age of Apocalypse was basically the reality where Apocalypse had free rein, so giving Beast genes that he was known to have messed with was a nice surprise. His powers, though, were best when people had faith in him or if he absorbed psychic energy from people. He feeds off others' faith and mental energy. Yep, I would progress my path into a leech. Still, not much energy was needed since it wasn't part of the gift package. that
counterparts

The others were what left me dumbfounded. I did not realize my other favorites were my teenage crushes. It was a bit embarrassing, just seeing a list of them because of their live-action counterparts: Jean Grey, Emma Frost, and the Cuckoos. Ah, to be young and crushing on Skyler Smuels, January Jones, and Sophie Turner. I did like their comic book counterparts, but yeah, I'm 90% sure they were there because of my crush on them.
It occurs to me that I didn't really like the personalities of most telepaths. Kid Omega was a handful that I just wanted to punch in the face. I wasn't one for the better-than-thou attitude like Emma Frost and sometimes Jean Grey (yes, that means I wasn't a fan of Storm, though she is with the Murlocks, who knows why). Even the Cuckoos had some personality problems. And yes, I disliked Charles Xavier.
There was one who didn't make the list: Rachel Summers. The survivor from another reality. She was an actual favorite, but I guess her time traveling was a bit of a problem for OAA.
The list made me want to set it aside for now because of internal embarrassment. Yup, looking at the list of favorites, some of my celebrity crushes are there. Sigh, Caretaker, are you poking fun at me? I mean, it would be awesome actually to have them here...
Okay, so what else do we need for the future? Well, thinking about it now, the McEwens will be facing mostly magical threats, and that ass Mordo hunting sorcerers. Well, I'm part of the way to being able to procure Mysterium, so why not? Let's see if we can integrate the rest of the Six from S.W.O.R.D.
First up, Blink. I already have her x-gene from seeing her so often, but looking at my gift package, I'm sure she's there, too. Yup, Jamie Chung's Blink and Fan Bingbing's Blink.... Yup, I'm blushing like mad under this golden skin. Okay, I'm integrating this reality's DNA, but let's compare and snip out the portal creation. Sure enough, all three share that common gene sequence; the differences are probably due to differences in appearance. Easy peasy, no energy needed.
Next, Amelia Voght, easy one, just a Beta-level mutant. Love her powerset, though, the mist transmutation will definitely come in handy. This didn't take too much energy.
Okay, last teleporter, an alpha-level mutant named Gateway. That didn't give me any trouble as well. I sure hope I don't regret the whole trans-dimensional clairvoyance down the line. Still have plenty of energy after, weird, it felt like it was just as much as Voght's. Is the synergy helping?
Next, I should have started with this one a while back. Thinking about it, I need the power component of the Six. Khora of the Burning Heart, you are up. Another Alpha or Beta level, and I'm still not putting a dent in this life force I got from the savage lands. As soon as I integrate it, I already feel her power working. Dang, I should have done this from the start. Her powers are now generating life force. I need to figure out how to amplify this holy crap. I estimate that within an hour, I could generate about half a day's worth of skimming life force around me. I'll still do so mostly for training, though.
Okay, let's go with another easy one, the Eye. It's funny, they are only a favorite because they are part of the Six; otherwise, I don't really care about either member that can be the Eye. So which one do I do? Well, I eventually want both as they see differently, but Peeper is definitely superior with his optic blasts and his passive vision. Another beta level mutant, but as I integrate, my eyes start to hurt as it enlarges, and Darwin's adaptation instantly kicks in. I can feel my orbital sockets expanding to help settle it in. Oof, that was a close call. I forgot about the larger eyes. I look in the mirror, and I don't see any difference; my eyes aren't jutting out a bit like Peepers's. Thank god for Darwin's powers. It was a tad painful, but hell, I'll take it over a larger weak point any day.
Okay, that's about 1/4 of my energy gone, wait, only a quarter? I look at the clock; well, it looks like I blanked out while integrating the last one. It's been about 90 minutes since then. I am already loving Khora's powers.
Next up, the all-important Foundry, how I am actually going to condense the Mysterium. Risque, another lower-level mutant. I wish I could meet her, though; her combat abilities are interesting. Alright, easy peasy, another one down, and I can't help but play with it a little bit. I look around and condense the surrounding hydrogen and oxygen using a localized gravity field. Viola, a sphere of water, and it is oh so deliciously pure.
Okay, so I definitely don't need the Shield; I have Darwin for that. The Control was used to help with tech to unify and control the teleporters, which I don't need, but I definitely want Wiz Kid's powers. We'll see about integrating it in the future. So that leaves the Guide.
Oof, this is a big one, glad I have so much energy left. Manifold, I never knew if he was Alpha or Omega, but he is the Guide, and it'll make the transport so much easier with his set. I may or may not actually need it with all these teleportation powers in one person, but space communication is definitely useful. I mean, I could literally ask space to close Loki's portal later.
A little while later, Manifold's power is mine, and it seems he isn't an omega. I guess his clear limitations classify him as an Alpha. I have plenty of energy left, so I go ahead and integrate Wiz Kid's and Armor's genes. That leaves a little less than half left. A nice, hefty reserve; I'll save it for another time or for emergency healing.
Okay, now to put this into use. I reach out with all my teleportation abilities and ask the universe to fold as I will myself past the edge and into The Hot White Room. Shit, it hurts so damn bad. I am holding myself together as I start to heal and adapt to my environment. It feels like I am on overdrive, my adaptation slowly making me get used to this place, and my healing accelerating it. I guess this is why the Six could only stay for so long. I'm surprised Armor could even hold on long enough to make Mysterium.
I realize I am no longer breathing as I go to sigh with relief and find no air in my lungs. Well, better get to work, finding all sorts of particles in the air around me, I find a few that I didn't see on Earth. I start condensing one type, and it looks just like Mysterium. Yes! Kirbons found, gotta remember this particle. The work is slow going, but I eventually get several tons of it. That should be more than enough, both to use and to try and trade with Wakanda. I still haven't given up on the Vibranium.
I start to teleport back, that's when I realize two things, one I am stark naked. And two, it seems my adaptation is running on Khora's powers as my life force accumulation isn't as high as it should be. These powers are intrating together very well. Well first I get myself out of this place and into my house in the property for the Murlocks.
I manifest into my living room with my ore in mist form only to find it occupied by a group of women. No time to think, I go invisible and run up to my room with mist ores in tow. I don't even know who was in my living room, but they were definitely Murlocks. Ugh could this day get anymore embarrasing?
