Chapter 166 - Chapter 166 The Whereabouts of Thor's Hammer

"Friend, my name is Thor—Thor, the God of Thunder. I hail from Asgard; surely you must have heard of me."

"What is your name? And do you happen to know any magic for finding lost objects?"

Thor beckoned the Goku to sit beside him, asking with a hint of anticipation.

He was aware of the existence of wizards; he had encountered them during his previous visits to Midgard, though that had been a very long time ago.

Nevertheless, he reasoned that since the wizarding tradition still survived to this day, they surely must have heard of him.

After all, even the ordinary mortals of Midgard had heard the legends of his deeds.

Moreover, wizards seemed to possess all manner of strange and peculiar magic—perhaps they even had a specific spell for locating lost items.

With his divine powers sealed away by his father, Odin, he was currently little more than a slightly stronger-than-average mortal.

To break the seal and reclaim his full power, he absolutely had to locate his divine artifact: Mjölnir—the Hammer of Thor.

"My name is Son Goku. I *do* know a spell for finding things, but it only works within a certain range."

The Goku replied honestly.

The Summoning Charm could be used to locate objects; he had, in fact, used it previously to track down the Dragon Balls.

However, the Summoning Charm had its limitations regarding distance; if the target was too far away, it would fail to respond to the summons and fly to its caster.

Furthermore—he had never actually heard of this "Thor, God of Thunder."

*The God of Thunder?* Could this guy actually be a god?

If he truly were a god, he ought to be incredibly powerful.

After all, Goku knew of another deity—Ankhseram, the God who governed life and death—whose single curse had tormented the mighty mage Zeref for years on end, leaving him utterly unable to find release.

Regrettably, Goku had never been able to locate Ankhseram himself.

Otherwise, he would have truly loved to cross fists with him.

"You really missed out on quite a show! A satellite crashed down in the desert, and we were having a grand old time watching it—until those snoops from the Investigation Bureau showed up and ruined everything."

Just then, the doors to the restaurant were flung open with a loud bang, and a massive, corpulent man strode inside, bellowing at the top of his lungs.

His words immediately piqued the interest of everyone in the room.

"Hey, Joe, you mentioned a satellite fell out of the sky—what exactly happened?"

"It was a satellite shaped like a hammer. It crashed down about fifty miles to the west, gouging out a massive crater.

"And it's incredibly heavy; no one could lift it. Even Old Stan tried to haul it away with his truck, but he couldn't budge it.

"So, everyone decided to throw a party out there. But then, just a moment ago, some agents from the Bureau of Investigation showed up and cordoned off the area. They kicked us all out and sent us packing..."

The stout man described the scene to everyone with vivid, animated detail.

Upon hearing his words, Thor—who had been about to continue questioning Goku—suddenly broke into a smile.

For now, it seemed he no longer needed Goku's help to locate Mjolnir.

"Thor, since you're the God of Thunder, you must be incredibly powerful, right?"

Goku looked up at Thor with a hint of eager anticipation.

At this, Thor immediately lifted his head with a proud air:

"Naturally! I am the God of Thunder and Storms, Lord of Asgard, and I have roamed the Nine Realms unchallenged for over a thousand years.

"Why, I nearly smashed the Frost Giant King's head right off his shoulders!"

"That sounds amazing!"

Goku's eyes lit up even brighter.

He felt that on this return trip to this world, he might not only get to gather the Dragon Balls but also have the chance to spar and train alongside a true master.

"Let me tell you, back then..."

Seeing the sparkle in Goku's eyes—which he mistook for sheer adoration—Thor immediately perked up with interest.

He launched into the tale of how he, along with his younger brother and a few companions, had boldly ventured into the realm of Jotunheim.

"Had the All-Father not intervened, I would have surely smashed the Frost Giant King's skull to pieces."

As he reached this point in the story, Thor couldn't help but let out a sigh.

"It was precisely because of that incident that the All-Father cast me down here to reflect upon my actions. He even sealed away my divine powers, leaving me as nothing more than an ordinary mortal."

"Your powers have been sealed away?"

A look of disappointment washed over Goku's face.

He had been hoping that, sooner or later, he might get the chance to spar with Thor; yet, it turned out Thor was currently in a severely weakened state.

Nevertheless, he remained deeply intrigued by the things Thor had mentioned—specifically, the realm of Asgard and that place called Jotunheim. Because, according to Thor, that place is home to many...

...formidable experts.

"Hahaha, don't worry. As long as I find Mjolnir...

...I'll be able to regain my divine powers."

Thor patted Goku on the shoulder:

"And I already know exactly where Mjolnir is—

—just fifty miles to the west. As soon as we finish eating, I'll head over there and bring Mjolnir back."

"I never would have thought this guy—rough-looking as he is—

—would actually be so good at entertaining kids."

Listening to the conversation between the big man and the little boy, Jane turned to her student, Darcy, who was sitting beside her.

Naturally, she didn't believe any of the stories Thor told about his past exploits;

she simply assumed he was spinning tall tales just to amuse the child.

Even so...

...her impression of Thor had improved quite a bit.

A god-like hunk—a muscular powerhouse—

—who was also kind-hearted and good with children? That was certainly very appealing to her.

If only he were a little more—you know—sane.

"Here is your Family Mega Meal."

Just then, the waitress, Iris, arrived and placed a "Family Mega Meal"—

—a set containing eight items, including burgers, egg tarts, and roast chicken—

—right in front of Goku.

Goku, who had originally intended to challenge Thor to a friendly spar, took one look at the fragrant array of food on the table, and his mouth instantly began to water.

Forgetting all about what he had intended to say, his hands moved in a blur—

—and he began to devour the food with the speed and ferocity of a whirlwind.

"Oh my god! That is absolutely insane!"

Everyone watched in astonishment as Goku—

—in the span of just two short minutes—

—completely wiped out a "Family Mega Meal" that would have been enough to feed three or four grown adults.

Everyone in the restaurant was left utterly stunned.

It wasn't just the sheer quantity of food that was frightening;

the speed at which he ate was even more terrifying.

"I'll have another one!"

Goku wiped his mouth, feeling his stomach settle down just a little.

"R-right... Coming right up..."

The waitress, Iris, glanced over at Jane; seeing Jane give a nod of approval,

she went to fetch another "Family Mega Meal."

Two minutes later, that one, too, was completely devoured by Goku.

And so came the third order... the fourth... the fifth...

Fortunately, this was a fast-food restaurant; most of the ingredients were pre-prepared,

so the staff could whip up the meals in no time at all. Especially after discovering just how voracious Goku's appetite truly was, much of the food was prepared in batches and served with lightning speed.

Otherwise—had this been a typical restaurant—they simply wouldn't have been able to keep up with the pace at which Goku was devouring his meals.

"I suspect his stomach must be connected to an alternate dimension."

Darcy scrutinized Goku's belly—which remained only slightly distended even after he had polished off twenty servings—her face a mask of sheer curiosity.

Jane, however, wore an expression of concern. It wasn't that she begrudged the cost of the food; rather, she was worried about Goku's physical well-being.

"Is it really safe for him to eat this much?"

After all, one could literally eat oneself to death.

Thor, too, looked somewhat astonished, yet he waved his hand reassuringly.

"Don't worry. He is a wizard. And wizards always have their... well... eccentricities."

At that moment, he couldn't help but be reminded of his own younger brother, Loki—another oddball who delighted in shapeshifting to play pranks on others.

"Jane, these are real gold coins."

After spending a good while examining the Gold Galleons, Selvig was finally one hundred percent certain that the pile of coins sitting on the table was, in fact, crafted from pure, solid gold.

Pulling Jane aside, he whispered to her urgently:

"There might be something seriously off about these two guys. As soon as we finish eating, let's get away from them—and fast."
