Lyra Seraphina Silverlight stood before a floating array of shimmering runes, carefully reviewing the final report on the Emerald Swan essence. Lines of glowing script drifted slowly in the air like constellations as the analysis completed.
Behind her, the shadows stirred.
From the darkness, Vespera Void emerged soundlessly, as though the night itself had unfolded to let her step through. She crossed the room with quiet grace and seated herself on the sofa, her presence filling the chamber with a calm, suffocating authority.
Lyra sensed the shift in the air and turned immediately.
"Mistress," she said with a respectful incline of her head. "The report on the Emerald Swan essence is complete."
She gestured toward the floating runic projections."However, the amount of information we could extract remains limited. The analytical arrays available in this world operate far below the arcane standard required for deeper examination."
The runes shifted again, revealing a fragment of radiant emerald light pulsing within the containment field.
"Even so," Lyra continued, her silver eyes reflecting the data, "the regenerative potential within the soul-essence is extraordinary. If properly refined, it may reconstruct damaged spiritual pathways."
A third voice entered the room.Calm. Controlled. Absolute.
"The limitation isn't in the essence, Lyra."
Atlas Void stepped through the doorway, his cloak still damp from the storm outside. His violet eye flickered faintly as it settled on the projection of the emerald essence.
"It is in the environment."He walked closer, studying the swirling runes with quiet focus.
"This world's standards are… primitive."
Atlas lifted a hand and lightly traced a line through the floating projection. The runic structure shifted instantly, reorganizing itself into a far more complex formation.
"If we were operating with proper instruments," he continued evenly, "this analysis would already be complete."
The emerald light pulsed once, brighter than before.
Atlas's gaze hardened slightly."But it doesn't matter."He lowered his hand."Even with inferior tools, the conclusion is obvious."
His voice dropped, steady and certain.
"The essence of the Emerald Swan can restore the fractured bridge between mind and soul."
Atlas glanced briefly toward Vespera.
The cold, clinical atmosphere of the laboratory softened as he crossed the room. Instead of taking the empty chair beside her, he lowered himself to the floor and leaned back against the sofa. After a moment's hesitation, he rested his head gently in her lap.
For a brief instant, the imposing Architect of the Nexus disappeared. In his place was simply a tired young man seeking a moment of quiet.
Vespera looked down at him, slightly surprised. Her expression remained composed, but something in her eyes softened. Without a word, she lifted a hand and began to run her fingers slowly through his hair. The motion was unhurried, almost instinctive, the way one might comfort a child who had carried too much for too long.
Atlas closed his eyes for a moment.
The endless calculations, the shifting projections of runes, the weight of plans that stretched across worlds all of it seemed to quiet beneath the gentle rhythm of her hand.
When he opened his eyes again, they were clear.
He reached out, gesturing toward a basket on the nearby table. A crisp, red apple lifted into the air, drifting across the room until it settled firmly in his hand. He took a slow, deliberate bite, the sound of the crunch echoing through the quiet chamber.
"Aunt Vespera," Atlas said after a moment, his voice steady. "I want you to oversee the creation of a company --Aetherion Industries. It will be the vessel that brings our progress to the world. We will produce and sell Magitech artifacts and refined potions to the wizards, and introduce advanced technology to the Muggles."
Vespera's fingers paused briefly in his hair, then continued.
He looked up at her, the violet light in his eye reflecting the shifting emerald runes across the room.
"And start the work on the alloys from the Codex of the Void Core that I got from the Swallowed Star world. That data contains schematics for both human-made alloys and monster material alloys. Since we cannot find the monsters of that world here, we will adapt. We will use the magical animals of this world their scales, their feathers, their essence to forge the materials we need."
For a moment, Vespera said nothing.
Her hand continued its slow, gentle motion through his hair, but her eyes studied him carefully this brilliant, relentless boy who spoke about reshaping worlds as if it were the most natural thing in existence.
There was pride in her gaze. And something dangerously close to affection.
"You never think small, do you?" she said quietly.
Atlas didn't answer. He simply took another bite of the apple.
A faint smile appeared on Vespera's lips.
"Very well," she murmured. "I'll build your company."
Her fingers brushed a strand of hair away from his forehead."By the time the first snow falls," she added softly, "the foundations will already be in place."
Atlas looked at Lyra, who was busy recalibrating the runic sensors.
"Lyra," Atlas began, his voice dropping into a tone of cold, scientific curiosity. "I want you to begin a global scan for a wild Phoenix. I need the raw, primordial fire of a bird that has never known a master."
Lyra paused, her silver eyes widening. "A wild Phoenix? They are nearly extinct, Atlas. Most are just myths in the higher mountain ranges."
"Find them," Atlas commanded. "I want to see what happens when the absolute life-force of a Phoenix is fused with the restorative essence of the Emerald Swan.
"And there is more," Atlas continued, his gaze drifting toward the shimmering green core. "Send the Emerald Swan spirit boneto my laboratory in the Room of Requirement immediately.
As Lyra began the transfer protocols, Atlas leaned his head back against Vespera's lap, his eyes narrowing in deep contemplation. He wasn't just thinking about regeneration anymore.
He knew that according to the mechanics of that world, a spirit bone was more than a mere reservoir of energy. It was a vessel for a Soul Skill. If he could study the metaphysical imprints etched into its very marrow, he might be able to extract the specific technique hidden within. To potentially master the innate power the Emerald Swan had spent centuries cultivating that was the true prize.
"I will dissect the spirit bone myself," Atlas murmured, his violet eye pulsing with a cold, predatory curiosity. "A skill that governs life and death... I want to see if it can be codified."
Vespera's fingers continued their steady, soothing path through his hair, her eyes fixed on the shimmering green data. "The black markets are greedy, Lyra. Use the other name to buy their silence as well as their information. We do not want the Ministry or the International Confederation wondering why we are looking for primordial life-forces."
"Consider it done," Lyra replied, her silver eyes reflecting the rapidly shifting map of the global magical underworld.
Atlas slowly sat up, the quiet moment of rest fading as the familiar, predatory sharpness returned to his gaze. The soft presence of Vespera behind him remained a constant, but his mind was already recalibrating for the next phase of his design.
"Lyra," he said, his voice cutting through the hum of the laboratory with a calm, resonant authority. "The report on the Muggle scientists. They were among the first subjects to practice Genesis Breathing. I want the results."
Lyra stepped forward immediately, her fingers tracing a path through the air to summon a cluster of floating runic projections. The silver light of the displays cast long shadows across the obsidian floor.
"Mistress, Lord Atlas," she began formally, inclining her head before gesturing toward the shimmering data. "The results are… promising."
Atlas skimmed the projection with a quick, clinical glance, his eye dissecting the energy signatures before him.
"They have successfully awakened their dormant mana veins," Lyra continued, her tone professional. "All test subjects have transitioned into the threshold of Low Tier-1."
Atlas's eyes narrowed slightly, sensing the unspoken weight behind her words.
"But?" he prompted, the syllable hanging heavy in the air.
Lyra hesitated for a fraction of a second. "There are… differences."
Atlas looked up, his focus locking onto her. "What kind of differences?"
Lyra adjusted the runic display, revealing several branching diagrams of glowing mana pathways that looked like golden lightning frozen in glass. "The effects of Genesis Breathing vary from person to person. However, in Muggles, the awakened mana veins behave quite differently compared to those of natural-born wizards."
She pointed to several highlighted channels where the energy seemed to pool rather than flow. "They require significantly more time and a higher density of mana to progress. Their circulation is less efficient andmore resistant to the initial draw."
Atlas watched the flickering lines in silence, his mind already calculating the biological friction.
"Our current conclusion," Lyra continued, "is that Genesis Breathing awakens a different type of mana network within the Muggle physiology. These veins do not possess the generalized versatility of a wizard; instead, they appear to develop specific elemental affinities."
Another diagram surged to the forefront, pulsing with a low, rhythmic heat. "One of our Muggle scientists has shown a startling compatibility with fire-based manifestations, progressing noticeably faster in that category than in any other."
She gestured toward additional projections, where shades of blue, white, and translucent grey flickered. "We have observed early signs of several affinities : fire, water, air, and others but the data is still fragmented. We lack both sufficient test subjects and a broader elemental framework to properly analyze the phenomenon."
Atlas nodded slowly, the implications of a "specialized" mage-class forming in his mind. "And the wizards?"
Lyra shifted the projection again, the golden lines becoming smoother, more integrated. "For natural wizards, Genesis Breathing produces a distinct effect. It does not merely open new paths,it strengthens and stabilizes their existing magical channels."
Her voice grew more analytical as she revealed a hidden layer of the data. "More importantly, it appears to amplify their wizarding bloodline. It acts as a catalyst for the latent ancestral power they already carry."
Atlas's violet eye flickered with a cold, intellectual interest.
"In practical terms," Lyra continued, "when two individuals of equal level engage : one a natural wizard and the other a newly awakened Muggle ,the wizard gains a measurable advantage."
She paused, highlighting a combat efficiency ratio that made the disparity clear. "Approximately one-and-a-half times greater output and efficiency. The bloodline acts as a natural force-multiplier."
The laboratory fell silent for a moment, the only sound the distant crackle of the storm outside and the rhythmic hum of the Aetherion prototypes. Atlas looked at the 1.5x multiplier, a thin, inscrutable smile finally touching his lips.
