CENTRAL CITY
Barry Allen stands in the middle of Central City, hands on his knees, lungs still burning.
The world feels… smooth.
Traffic patterns are normal.
Satellites show no anomalies.
Astronomical feeds show no awakened Venus.
He runs to verify.
Metropolis. Gotham. Washington.
Everything matches archived history.
No Kael.
No Venus escalation.
No Seraphim.
He forces himself to check the one thing he dreads.
Superman.
He finds him above Metropolis, he was bright, stable and confident.
Not conflicted or influenced in any way.
Just the Superman this timeline always produced.
Barry appears on the Watchtower minutes later and calls an emergency session.
THE JUSTICE LEAGUE BRIEFING
Present:
Superman
Wonder Woman
Batman
Green Lantern
Aquaman
Barry doesn't ease into it and just lays it bare
"I reset the timeline."
Silence.
Batman's expression doesn't change, but his eyes sharpen.
Barry explains everything.
A cosmic entity. Venus' strange awakening . Governments weaponizing alien radiation. Magical escalation and open conflicts and a collision course with Superman.
"I ran back," Barry says. "I restored the correct temporal flow with the help of the speed force. The one without Kael the cause."
Superman crosses his arms slowly.
"You erased someone."
Barry meets his eyes.
"He wasn't supposed to exist in our timeline."
Hal frowns. "And you're the only one who remembers?"
Barry nods.
"Speed Force temporal insulation. I was the anomaly correcting an anomaly basically ."
Batman activates deep-space telemetry logs.
There are no inconsistencies.
No missing energy signatures.
No ghost data.
Nothing.
Barry presses his palms to the table.
"It's fixed. Everything's fixed."
The Speed Force hums faintly in his ears.
Not truly satisfied.
"Nothing survives a full reset," he whispers.
The Speed Force does not answer.
And that frightens him more than if it had.
POV SHIFT, THE NULL-ZONE
There is no light beyond Sera-X's glow there is just darkness.
There is only absence and Kael floats in it.
At first, nothing happens.
Then..
His cells begin to change.
Without solar radiation, a baseline Kryptonian would weaken.
Kael does not as he was Sol-Abraxas..
His biology adapts.
His body begins metabolizing background quantum noise, the faint static between dimensions, bleeding into the null-zone.
It was inefficient.
But it works and it's better than nothing at this point..
Sera-X watches.
"Master.. Your physiology is rewriting its energy intake pathways due to the new environment we're in."
Kael flexes his fingers slowly.
He feels… different.
Lighter.
Without gravity or time anchoring him, his body is no longer constrained by local constants. His strength stops being tied to mass and begins tying itself to positional probability.
In simpler terms:
He is becoming less "physical."
And more… fundamental.
...
Time doesn't pass normally here.
But perception does.
Days stretch.
Or seconds.
Or years.. It's hard to determine and as a result.
Kael begins seeing fragments of erased timelines, echoes brushing the null-zone boundary.
Worlds where he ruled like a Tyrant
Worlds where he died by darkseids hands.
Worlds where Clark killed him brutally.
He understands something slowly, terrifyingly:
The null-zone is not empty.
It is where discarded possibilities bleed.
Sera-X touches his head and stabilizes him when the psychic pressure spikes.
"Master your cognitive fragmentation risk is increasing ."
Kael exhales.
"So this is what exile feels like."
"Correction master . This is what survival outside narrative causality feels like."
He laughs once.
"Some speedster thinks he erased me."
Sera-X responds evenly:
"He erased your impact to be more specific, remember I saved you from erasure."
That lands like a sledge hammer.
Time passes in the null-zone...
Prolonged exposure begins altering Kael at a deeper level.
His perception stretches across probability layers.
He can see faint threads connecting realities.
He begins sensing the Speed Force as a structure not just energy, but architecture.
And architecture can be studied and broken.
Three subjective months in....
He does something new.
He moves without moving.
Only a few inches.
But it's not Kryptonian flight propulsion as usual
It's dimensional slipping.
Sera-X recalculates instantly.
"Revised escape projection: 2.1 years."
Kael stares into the endless expanse.
"not bad, at least I won't stress about waiting for long in this place.. ."
His eyes no longer reflect light.
They reflect the absence around him.
BACK ON EARTH
Barry dreams.
In the dream, something stands outside the Speed Force.
Not running.
Waiting.
