Chapter 1 - I Don’t Like Eating Wangzai Steamed Buns

"Classmate Huang Yiyi, why are you eating so fast?"

"No one's fighting you for it…"

At the dining table, Lin Yu looked at the girl sitting across from him.

She wore a long white dress, head lowered as she shoveled food into her mouth with absolute focus.

The corner of his mouth twitched a few times before he sighed helplessly.

"Sigh…"

"It's not like this isn't because the food you make is too delicious, Lin Yu…"

Only after she swallowed the food in her mouth did the girl finally lift her head, smiling brightly as she replied.

She had an extremely cute appearance—fair, smooth skin and a pair of large, sparkling eyes.

With twin ponytails tied on either side of her head, she gave people an inexplicable urge to reach out and gently rub her head.

When she spoke, two small tiger teeth peeked out from her mouth, making her look even cuter.

However—

After saying that, she immediately lowered her head again and continued eating with relish.

"If you eat that much, be careful you don't gain weight. What if you can't get married later?"

Lin Yu rubbed his temple and chuckled lightly, his expression tinged with resignation.

The girl named Huang Yiyi was his neighbor, living directly across from him.

The way they'd met was something Lin Yu still found amusing to think about.

One day, while he was cooking in the kitchen, he forgot to close the door.

When he came out carrying the food, he saw a petite, adorable girl peeking in from outside, her little head poking through the doorway, a faint trace of drool at the corner of her mouth.

That girl was Huang Yiyi—the very one sitting in front of him now.

From her, Lin Yu learned that she'd had a falling-out with her family and moved out to live on her own.

Seeing how pitiful she looked, along with that barely noticeable drool, Lin Yu invited her in to eat with him.

After that, she showed up punctually at his door every mealtime.

Of course, the little loli wasn't freeloading.

She often helped with chores and shared food with him too.

Otherwise, Lin Yu would have made sure she learned exactly what "the wickedness of human hearts" meant.

"Someone as cute as me? How could I possibly not get married?"

"Besides, if you made my belly big, shouldn't you take responsibility?"

"Cough—cough—!"

Lin Yu choked on his water and started coughing violently.

"Hehehe…"

Huang Yiyi burst into laughter, her clear, bell-like giggles ringing through the room.

"Sorry, I don't like Wangzai steamed buns."

After wiping the water off the table with a napkin, Lin Yu shot her a glare and said irritably.

Ever since he moved into this apartment and met Huang Yiyi, one thing about her had never changed.

Which once made him seriously doubt something.

Could this girl actually be a boy who liked cross-dressing?

But after a certain accidental incident, he was sure of one thing—

She wasn't a boy.

She was just… completely flat.

"Wangzai steamed buns?"

"Why did you suddenly bring up food again?"

Huang Yiyi looked confused.

But when she followed Lin Yu's gaze and looked down, realization dawned on her face.

"Ahhh!"

"You pervert! Why are you always mocking me there?!"

Her face flushed red as she shouted angrily.

"Lin Yu, I'm telling you this very seriously right now!"

"If you dare make fun of my chest again, I'll bite you to death!"

Hearing her voice coming from the kitchen, Lin Yu chuckled softly.

He didn't reply, instead lazily sinking into the sofa and falling into brief contemplation.

After all…

He'd transmigrated for so long already.

Why hadn't the so-called 'golden finger' every transmigrator was supposed to have shown up yet?

Every time he thought about this, Lin Yu felt extremely annoyed.

Just then—

He saw Huang Yiyi walk out of the kitchen.

"Thanks for your hard work."

Lin Yu handed her a can of cola.

"I always feel like you're mocking me whenever you call me that."

She took the cola, drank a sip, and complained.

"How could that be? You're overthinking it."

"I'm just praising how young and pretty you are."

Lin Yu replied calmly, his expression unchanged.

"I have something to do this afternoon, so I'll head back first."

"Okay."

"Oh right, remember to make me a portion for dinner."

As Lin Yu watched Huang Yiyi leave, she suddenly stopped, turned back, and said something before exiting and closing the door.

"…Whatever. No system is fine too."

"At least the world I'm in right now is perfectly normal."

After she left, Lin Yu sat back down on the sofa and muttered to himself.

"Heh heh heh…"

"Is there something else?"

Just as he was about to rest for a bit, a knock sounded at the door.

Thinking Huang Yiyi had forgotten something, Lin Yu spoke while opening the door.

However—

The moment he opened it, there was no one outside.

Only a white envelope lying on the ground.

His expression didn't change at all.

He let out a soft "hm," bent down to pick it up, and closed the door behind him.

What he didn't notice—

In the shadowed stairwell above, a pair of eyes was silently watching him.

"I wonder what Su Su wrote in this…"

Lin Yu muttered as he looked at the envelope.

Just as he sat down and prepared to open it—

Suddenly!

A cold, mechanical voice echoed beside his ear.
